I’m new to Bitcointalk, but not so new to crypto. I’ve been following the space since 2020 — through the ups, the FOMO, and the dips. I finally decided it’s time to be part of the community that has been here since the beginning.

My reason for joining is simple: I want to learn more, ask smarter questions, and share what I’ve picked up over the years. Bitcointalk feels a bit “old-school” at first glance, but I respect that. Real discussions happen here.

Welcome. It seems from your text that you are already familiar with everything that is not welcome on the forum. You know, sometimes "old-fashioned" becomes much more interesting than all those new things that are so actively spreading these days; I mean, everything that AI does. Here on the forum, you will meet people who will answer you as people answer, and not like robots. It is so rare to meet something real and alive now.

If you want to survive here and learn something good, then you must be patient and active in the forum regularly. You said that you are not new to cryptocurrency and have been following the place for a long time, but new to Bitcoin. It is understood from your statement that you do not know much about Bitcoin. You are already familiar with crypto space already, so am sure anything they are saying here won’t really be new to you again. You have been in the crypto space since 2020, then you are already a professional trader already. You already have knowledge about crypto already, am sure you will have lots to share here, people on the forum will definitely be able to learn from you.

All you should do now is just to go through the forum rules so that you won’t end up going against the rules, make sure you make positive contribution here, and am sure you will also be able to learn more things from the forum, but just make sure you don’t go against the forum rules because you will definitely be punished for that, and if you not careful, you might end up losing your account also.

Ranking up is not so difficult, just make sure you make meaningful contribution on the forum here, and you going to be receiving merits, gradually you going to rank up. So what you should focus on currently is just for you to provide useful informations here. Make sure you don’t plagiarize, if you providing any information that doesn’t belong to you, make sure you quote the post, and provide source link. Also make sure you don’t post with AI here, don’t post to impress anyone here, also make sure you are honest.

It seems you’re quite familiar already with how this forum scenario works. And that’s a good start actually, at least you won’t have to struggle a lot trying to understand what’s happening in the forum, which I do believe the most problem of every beginner who decides to enter the forum.

My only tip is, keep yourself motivated to learn especially that learning takes place everyday. And know that there’s always room for improvement, so never stop learning something new and make it grow and progress.

If you're interested, this forum offers an abundance of legit OG Bitcoin discussions, even ones involving Satoshi himself/herself/themselves. This is indeed the old school, the one started by Satoshi, the one where the likes of Hal and Dr. Back and everybody else used to trade ideas, when Bitcoin was in its earliest months of existence.

Although my time in this forum is not very long, I am still a beginner and am still trying to gain knowledge about Bitcoin and am accumulating Bitcoin as much as I can.

As you have mentioned, you are already familiar with all the basics of investments in general. You also have been following cryptocurrencies since the pandemic so I am pretty sure you can grasp the idea behind most of the concepts revolving around it.

Since you mentioned about activity and merit points, my best advice would be to not focus on them completely. Just go with the flow of the tide and merit points will definitely come to you. If you try to chase merits, then most probably you'd be just disappointed. But if you continue your journey by asking informative questions, creating helpful threads and methods, etc. then you would see the fruit of your labor.

But I think you should know about the best Bitcoin in the crypto world. Anyway you have joined the Bitcoin forum and are showing interest in learning about this valuable asset so I welcome you to this forum.
Since you are experienced in the crypto market, you should know about the basics of investing. You should study about Bitcoin and accumulate if it is on a limited scale then continue it for the long term. Bitcoin should not be associated with short term and risky trading structures because it is more suitable for long-term accumulation.
