Requesting for marketplace sub board creation in our LB.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about his business that he started recently and that business is connected to online infact the success of the business depends solely on online, and right now he needs place to advertise his product and when I remembered Bitcointalk forum and I told him about the forum and showed him the forum he was so happy and really wanted to post his business here but his business is only for Nigeria citizens and when I remembered that we don't have a marketplace sub board in our local board I knew reaching Nigeria's will become difficult because we don't have a sub board for advising business or bring a business or company to the knowledge of people, and if is posted to our local board it will be deleted since is not associated with the board.
I'm sure a lot of people would have posted about a business or company that is only operating in Nigeria in our local board but because there's no space or sub board for that they have not, Sir Igebotz I'm requesting that a marketplace sub board should be created here in our local board if possible.

So far the business is about Nigerians, he can begin the business here on the main local board. If we have more topics like this, the chance we are going to be given the board is high. One thing at a time, I could remember some days we are not given a local board yet, then also, it got to a time after a long waiting we got approved, this shows that Rome is not built in a day, there is a need for us to deeply think over an action before taking a decision, am not saying that having some kind of sub boards isn't possible, but we need time to evaluate more of what we have already and see how productive it has become before we can stand to bring in more ideas on creating another for more activities engagements.

It won't make sense if we rush into creating one and all that could be posted there are shitposts or off topic, then later to discover that there is lesser activities on such board(s), because all these are eto be well put into consideration for the idea of creating something could come in place, which I also know that the moderator is keeping an eye as everything is going, we still need more time and should only take a step at a time, gradually, things will be more better than before.

I want to know if your friend accept payment in cryptocurrency because directing someone to this platform for advertisement should mean the person will accept cryptocurrency payment.

Nevertheless, creating a sub board called market place where businesses that accept cryptocurrency can advertise will definitely help boaster cryptocurrency adoption in Nigeria and I hope the mod will give it a thought.

It's not such a bad idea. But to be honest, I don't think a marketplace sub-board will be created any time soon. However, that shouldn't discourage the person from joining the forum and participating in the Local board. Pending on when we get one, he/she can request for a marketplace thread in the off-topic sub-board, I believe the mod will approve of it.

Though it's a very good idea that such board like the marketplace be created, But I agree with Charles-Tim on what he said, it should be something we need meet the criteria first before posting a request. Currently we don't have much activities on going on the main board base on this topic/service. Tell your friend no one will restrict him from posting on the main board if he starts offering such services on the main board. The moment we have increased demand for this, definitely our mod will take it up to Theymos attention.

Everything is done with preparations, if comes the need of creating a marketplace sub board, it will be first considered by the moderators before sending to theymos for approval. If the forum is okay with it then it can be considered, it has to be a populated agreement as well because sub boards are not going be created and left with no activity, it has to be up the priority list for the majority of users.

I think this would be a good idea as well. I support it as I myself would also love to bring some of my business proposals and Ann thread to the local board but we don't have a submarket board so I just leave them on the general market board. One thing is certain, the Naija local board is big enough to have it and there are some services that some local board members would as well like to bring to the notice of other members. So yea I'll kindly as our lb moderator to review this with the Admin and consider creating it for our local board...

To the best of my knowledge I think that this forum is more crypto related and I don't think even if Marketplace sub board is created it won't be advised to start posting clothes and shoes except if he accepts cryptocurrency payments. Creating a marketplace sub board is good, but how do we regulate the nature of business advertised there or are we aiming at creating a complete marketplace where anything can be sold in any currency?

If your friend runs a bet or casino which could be done online, that would be a plus to us. I have seen some threads that allow games and bets on the sub boards, maybe this will create an avenue for NLB to have their own here. It's a good idea.

We have been given the local board since a long time ago. I think since almost 3 years now. We were given the local board on the 21st of December 2022.

The board will have rules. Any advertisement that violates the guidelines will be removed by the moderator. Charles-Tim's suggestion is perfect. Creating a service board will become a need if there is an increase in such activities in the main board. I guess the number of service-related threads will also be a yardstick that will spur the admin to consider such new input.

Ok but our moderator being Igebotz will have to understand and permit this so that if someone post there business or company in the main board he won't delete it or move it to the off topic, we know that a lot of people don't visit the off topic because they see it as a place where topics that is not making sense are being kept, so it will be better that it will remain in the main board where everyone will see it.

I have seen some signature campaign that are only for some countries, not all country are permitted to participate reasoning being that the company or business that wants a signature campaign are not in all countries so I believe if we have the marketplace sub board some companies that there operations are only limited to Nigeria and some African countries can even come in and can decide to run a signature campaign.
Nigeria's in this forum are now much so marketplace sub board will be very important to promote businesses and companies.

normally what the OP said is a good idea, but I agree with you Charles-Tim his friend can post his business here on the main board since we don't have a marketplace board in this our local board. Secondly I don't see any reason why we should request for marketplace board since we have not seen members of the naija board posting about their businesses here on the  main board or even on the politics and society sub board. Thirdly Before our moderator igebotz will go request for the creation of marketplace board in our local board even himself have to see reasons to do so, and even theymos himself have to reasons to creat a marketplace board for us.

This is a good proposal in the right direction, and I am sure many will benefit from it if it can be granted.

As it is, it might take time before it can happen, so to avoid the wait, why not have your friend start from the main forum section, where such a service can be immediately displayed? Doing that, he must have known how it works on the forum before it's later approved here.

I don't know what he sells, but who knows, non-Nigerians could be interested as well. Shipping happens daily, especially when the business is online. So, no limitation here, even if you feel so.

You can let your friend design a private signature and avatar design for his business while the background of his signature code is the direct link to his social media handle for business negotiation and discussion. Be sure to alert your friend to accept payment via cryptocurrency since the ads will be done here for visibility because non crypto company is not supported here.

While the request for marketplace sub board is never still not granted, let him follow up what I said above to advertise his brand for free. Bitlist and the rest are owned by forum members who are doing their campaign for free.

That is a very good idea already and I'm sure everyone are keenly waiting for the sub board. About increasing the activity in the main board, no one would freely engage in such threads prior to this thread because of the guiding rules and regulations as it would also be moved to off topic. The creation of this sub board would make people to freely share their ideas and businesses. With rules set, everyone would play by it.
