One thing that made bitcoin stands out was seriously the developer behind it, Satoshi was very much sure of what was building and it was like it didn’t need any convincing, it is Ponzi schemes that you will need to be convincing people and actually even lie in the process about the reward of the project. The current system where every user is a network node is not the intended configuration for large scale.  That would be like every Usenet user runs their own NNTP server.  The design supports letting users just be users.  The more burden it is to run a node, the fewer nodes there will be.  Those few nodes will be big server farms.  The rest will be client nodes that only do transactions and don't generate.

Besides, 10 minutes is too long to verify that payment is good.  It needs to be as fast as swiping a credit card is today.

You know it really beats me to see that people are so blind to see what's in front of them. It was understandable 15 years back because Bitcoin was as good as worthless and only those who saw the vision saw the worth, it was easier for anyone to feel sceptical about the technology, I mean I would have.
But right now, it's right in front of everyone, the historical performance and outbreak of Bitcoin, the insane adoption, the price skyrocketing and piercing through every single ATH and people are still so dumb enough to doubt it's future and long term potential. I mean that's just lame.

Well, just like Satoshi, convincing Bitcoin sceptics has never been my thing, I feel it's a waste of my precious time, I mean everyone has the right to believe what they wanna believe and trust whatever they wanna trust and it's not as if their lives depends on it.

I consider it also as a blueprint of how someone should act when you're trying to convince someone or telling someone about Bitcoin. Following in the footsteps of Satoshi, if they fail to believe you or understand it even after several attempts to convince them, and perhaps you perceive that the person is simply trying to be difficult, don't waste more time trying to convince them; wish them well and move on.

That's a nice saying. There was the coin, the wallet, blockchain and there was the whitepaper. If you want to know what Bitcoin is and how it works, you can read the whitepaper, Satoshi documented it very well. So, since there is the paper for everyone to read, it's their duty to shake their heads and use their brains to understand whether Bitcoin is good and evolutionary or not, so it was really a waste of time from Satoshi to convince anyone. I totally get Satoshi here. Many people are of the kind that you can't convince them with no amount of facts. Others are the kind that you can convince but only after you tell them something tens of times. For mass scale this is not good for individual people, especially those that want to build things. I've had this same problem with Bitcoin in the early days. There are people I told about it but they just refused to or were unable to understand. The risk was minimal, who cares about losing a few hundred dollars. Instead they only saw it again at bull run peaks, but even now they don't get it. I would have wasted a lot more time trying to convince them, what for?

Thank you for including the original post. During times like this where misinformation is so rampant, it is so important to know the source. It is not enough that we will believe anyone these days.

Anyway, about what Satoshi had said... I guess this is still applicable today. Maybe even more so. Because internet is now widespread and information is available only in a few clicks. So, if you still don't get it then you should find a way to understand it because there are plenty of ways now.
