This thread can be useful for all of us here since it is concerned about privacy, and when it comes to cryptocurrency, it is very important for us to know how to secure our assets well to avoid any other scam from getting access to our funds or assets. Because there are some people that only have knowledge about the crypto, but they lack methods on how they can keep their information saved.

The issue of biometrics is something we are supposed to be very careful about. It’s good for us to know where to use biometrics, not on everything. We are able to use biometrics. As you said earlier in this thread, not everyone can be trusted in this life we’re living in now; even a closer friend can’t be trusted anymore because, most of the people around us, not everyone wants to see our success.

Most of the exchanges have imported the global technology by using biometrics in every exchange to make it easy for people in terms of logging in to the exchanges, just to make it easier for them. They don’t know this can be dangerous, as the scammers can find it easy to get access to people’s assets. I think for the iPhone users the Face ID is even better than the fingerprints, because it will be hard for them to take advantage of unconsciousness. It is only the fingerprints; they are able to use unconscious moments to get what they want from the person.

OP, you have spoken well, in as much as our assets are concerned, we have to take our security very seriously because anyone who can get our login details or keys could also do away with our assets, which is not safe.

Concerning what you have said about the biometric, there is nothing bad about it,, but what I think is this, it is wrong if you let people know the medium through which you can access your wallet and that makes you a target or a potential victim of whatever way they device to attack you because already you made them know the medium through which you gain access to your wallet or your exchange account.

In some cases you just have to use multiple ways of accessing your wallet and when in public places you use the option which they can never understand which would be safe for you and when in the closet, you use any one you feel is convenient for you at that moment. I alternate mine just as i have explained above and it has been working for me perfectly well.

This thread will sound as a wake up call to many folks that has not be on top of there game in terms of securing their assets, securing your crypto assets should be the first priority of every investor, because the rate of scammers in recent time is on the higher side, and scammers are now going extra lengths in carrying out there fraudulent activities,however, the op made an example how a close friend of someone can take advantage of a his friend if he or she eventually get drunk through his or her finger print, and it is definitely true.

Another reason sometimes I hate biometric verification is from the fact that there are other security risks that can come through after the platform is affected by biometric data breach. This one is more dangerous than passwords since we can't reset it because it's always the same, and this can be use by scammers for different schemes especially identity thefts.

@op, you have raised many important points among us. In this era of technology, the easier we think things are, the harder they are. Again, the easier we think things are. I think, if someone wants to access someone's wallet, he can do it very easily, because now technology has increased so much that even if people want to be careful, they cannot be careful. Again, it is not possible to access someone's wallet just by using technology. In short, any technology has two sides, technology is good or bad based on the use of people.

The example you have given can happen to anyone. The enemy is never known among themselves. Even 2 years ago, people always used passwords or PINs. These two systems were the most secure for any security purpose. But from the day people came to know that no one can ever fake biometrics. From that day people started using it. Now every smartphone uses fingerprint and face ID lock system. Just by touching the finger, the lock opens. People have shifted from writing a few characters to biometrics in the LC to open the lock.

Implying centralized exchange in your topic, it will be difficult to withdraw from any exchange using biometrics only. I know exchange request for password not just the one sent through gmail for verification but pass code for any withdrawal, if they don't know that part of the verification it will be difficult to withdrawal.

You are wright OP, it has been observed and also seen in films how people are being robbed of their hard earned money through fingerprints, securing your Bitcoin wallet with your facial biometric gives the criminal problem from accessing your funds.

Also using only facial locks should not be adopted in securing our crypto asset, it can be mixed up with various patterns to give a very tough time for them to scale through, because our technologies nowadays are also growing faster which scammers or criminals are also working very fast to meet up various security measures being put to place .

I had a terrible experience while using finger print for my Binance exchange when the it happens that I lost my first device and I wanted to login to a newer device I was asked to put my passkey which is either fingerprint or biometric before I could have access to the exchange using my new device, I tried writing to support but I can't got help from them and the only reason while I didn't push more hard is because I had less fund on that exchange and I just have to forget about the exchange.

1. Make use of a non custodial wallet.

Some people dey secure their crypto wallet with fingerprint or face unlock. Na mostly Android users dey do fingerprint. But no be all Android phones fit use face unlock like iPhone, na only iPhone dey support strong face unlock.
