The main reason people voted for Trump was to stop the madness of mass immigration, which only served to increase insecurity, worsen public services, and impoverish everyone. It's a textbook plan that is followed in many European countries: let in lots of illegal immigrants very quickly, give them benefits from the start, and thus get grateful voters for life.

It is typical of leftist policies to make everyone poorer, except for the political elite and their friends, so that society becomes increasingly dependent on the state. Look at what happened in Argentina, for example.

Even before he was elected you could tell he was only interested in enriching himself, friends and family. You had to be blind to miss it, but he is an excellent performer and populist. He knows how to target the fears of the general population but he has no proper ideas on how to solve problems. His whole business career was basically legal bullying and being shrewd enough to hire the best lawyers, but that doesn't make him the good leader of the country.

You could have watched how he spent the majority of his time golfing in his first term to understand he has no interest in serving the people. He is an old man, just like the president before him, and really there should be a cut off age for such high office - he looks senile on stage and can barely piece together coherent sentences, talks about topics he has no idea on and generally bumbles through most speeches but talks at a dumb enough level for the just over 51% of people who voted that decided to choose him. His presidency is just one long failure with very little substance.

Don't you think we've fallen off so far as a society if people are accused of envy and jealousy when they call out things they believe to be wrong with the system? Throughout the campaign, I kept seeing Trump's party calling everyone else socialist. If people request a certain thing to be subsidised, for example, they will be branded socialist because "they want to earn what they didn't work for".
How did we get here?
There have always been systems in place so that those who are poor or the lower class will be able to benefit from the state, too, so if that system is being jeopardised and people are speaking against it, it doesn't mean they're socialist or whatever. It is the job of the government to make life easier for its citizens; they don't have to be wealthy, except the person is not ready to work at all.

His tariff policy was no secret. He stated it during his campaign.
Any good businessperson will take advantage of it if they're in a business where they can take advantage. It was no secret. These are the things Trump's campaign was based on. His campaign was based on immigration and tariffs. He said all these things during his campaign, so I don't understand why people are pretending to be surprised now. All the things Trump is doing now are the things he said he would do, but I guess it seemed cool to people during that period, or they just didn't think it through.

We went through it 6-7 years ago in our country when we had higher than usual economic problems; during that time a lot of millionaires got richer.

I dare say it mostly started with Reagan in the 1980's when the 1% fully infiltrated the White House and started to truly take over and set policies that favored them. Elon Musk a billionaire is his close to Donald Trump before their hilarious fight. Donald is a businessman and I don’t think he stopped being a business after he became president. He has companies and may be linked to some other secret companies. Those tariff policies could have benefited companies he is linked in or owned by his billionaire friends, all this are allegedly but the Trump administration policies lead by a billionaire is becoming profitable for billionaires. Remember his gold card that has a price tag in millions of dollars, that is more like an invitation card for more wealth people to come into the country why the poor or average masses trying to come into the country are scrutinized.

You only have to look at the threads started by the OP to see that this is the case. And here I am to defend what is happening: that the socialism that the envious love so much is a machine for creating what it claims to defend: the poor. They care so much about the poor that wherever they govern, they keep creating more and more of them.

What America has forgotten is that globalization is not a competition between countries, but between companies within those countries. To achieve high profits, as the creed of capitalism dictates, large American companies outsource their production to China. The slogan that previously benefited only America now fairly benefits all actors in every country.

Trump assumes that if the country could be managed like a private entity with all the power of a nation, and with Trump at the helm, trillions of dollars would flow into America. Trump's principle is "winner takes all," and as a leader, America must profit first, leaving the rest to chance.

Usually that 1% don't pay any taxes because they have actually changed the laws to allow them to avoid paying them legally! I too believe its too early to decide Trump is good or not for the people. US had been suffering from illegal immigrants. There are people who are claiming these illegal immigrants are running the US economy but it isn't. If US needs immigrants, it should take them legally, not only it would help US plan their needs and ask for and allocate accordingly, it also helps the immigrants to have better human rights and working rights.
Similarly, Many countries around the world were sending goods to US on zero tariff while they levied tariff on US goods. Trump's action might not be diplomatic enough but he's doing what he said he would.

And with that being said, it is now up to you how you will elevate your economic conditions. It means, don't rely to any politician to uplift your living status. You can work on your own and do your due diligence to change your path without relying from anyone. I believe, in this life, rely on yourself if you want to improve your living conditions. You don't need to blame anyone about on what you have. Because it is your life, so it is on you how you will alter your life for the better. The problems that you see today are not consequences of liberalism or laissez-faire, it is based on corrupt capitalism and oligarchy. Free trade and free markets does not mean free from any and all consequences.
