To be honest, sometimes I want to do sports betting and there are matches of other teams outside of the ones I know, so sometimes I check other people's predictions, even compare their opinions and look at the previous statics of those teams and then place a bet.
And here I don't actually follow any specific person, I try to analyze as much as I can myself. No, it is not good to know other bets before the submission of the game, the present game is being discussed and analyzing the match in other to have ideas and from this interaction one is able to figure and understand the game, and that is why some person prefer knowing others game before placing there's.

For the first few days I had to look at others because for the first few days when I was new I took help to bet, besides now I can analyze the matches and bet myself without anyone else's help.

I used to discuss about my bets with friends just to know if they have this same game to bet too as it makes me feel more confident that I actually picked the right games but these has made me loose potential winning games multiple times so I stopped asking or discussing about my bets with anyone because if I do, it's either they make you feel like you have chosen the wrong games or they discourage you, so now I just mind my business in regards to my bets and if they choose to discuss their own bet with me I simply make up my mind never to change my bets. Even as I don't completely agree with you about the similarity of gambling to trading, you have made a very important point for which I agree with you that you need to shield yourself from noise as a gambler to make personal and clear decisions. Since gambling involves money, one must own up to the responsibility through the decision making process to avoid shifting blames.
