When choosing a career, one should be prepared for the danger that lies ahead of it. The lady was just doing her normal streaming and could have probably mentioned her crypto holdings and involvement in other things in order to attract more engagement, not knowing that among all the viewers some are just there not for anything aside from monitoring how they can penetrate and steal that which the streamer has publicized. Security first before anything; she has escaped this one and should be careful next time in order for it not to repeat itself.
This thread is not about careers or this lady, it is about not showing your wealth which has nothing to do with careers.
As a streamer whose earnings are based on engagement and your views, most streamers can do whateverthey consider necessary just to attract that audience they seek. The thread is passing a message to all to be private, but from the recent attacks, most streamers have been selfish in falling victim to this. The other time it was a porn streamer on X who showed her crypto holdings and was attacked, and they both fall under the category of streamer. Some who are also on the same streaming list can still be secretive about their holdings; everyone can't be the same.

Here is another example on why we really need to be quiet in our social media and not tell about our crypto investment as we might be the next target.
It doesn’t make any sense to reveal your crypto investment online, most people love doing that, but they don’t know the implication, if you post your crypto investment on social media, you just endangering your life, because you might end up being target because they already know your worth. Seriously our crypto investment is just suppose to be private, and you are not even suppose to tell anyone what you worth.

If you are planning to introduce anyone into crypto investment, make sure you don’t make use of your main wallet to teach them, always make sure you have a new wallet which you have nothing in it, then you can use that to introduce them to crypto. No matter how close you are to someone, your investment should remain private, I will recommend you don’t even allow your friends know how much you worth, because people you call friends might be the one that will end up setting you up.

It is very risk  for anybody to disclose their financial status on the internet especially if the person is financially big, because that whom scammers are looking for, if they can not scam you via online attacks, they will come for the person physically, it has happened several time if we can remember. Any body that wants to start broadcasting their financial status online should also enhance their physical security standards because that's how they can stay safe. Similar thing has happened close to us, and because of this insecurity, people prefer to keep secret of their money and they carry some outdoors security agents around.

There's been an uprising of such attacks the past few years. Cryptocurrencies have received a lot of attention recently due Bitcoin's high value, especially after the repeated ATHs. It's no surprise that people are being targeted after flaunting their wealth online. This doesn't only apply to cryptocurrencies, but in general as well. It's an extremely reckless thing by someone who's known, such people do it for the views, attention etc, but this also gathers the wrong kind of attention.

Moreover, it's also advised against to talk about your money/wealth/cryptocurrencies to other people, especially those you're not close to. No one needs to know how much money you have.

I don’t know her but publicly exposing yourself about your bitcoin holdings is a very dangerous thing to do in this space where you can easily be tracked to your home with the information you give online. These days, even having your seed phrase safe elsewhere and still exposing your crypto holdings still pose a very big risk to your savings. You can be held at gunpoint to provide the seed phrase to access your wallet and move your money out, without a choice, you’ll give it out and will loss your crypto forever. It is better not to expose yourself to the public that you even own a stash of bitcoin that will bring the attention of this criminals onto you.

The fact is that this is not the first or second time I have seen this kind of news but I don’t know why some people don’t learn from others mistakes. I don’t understand why some people always decide to flaunt their wealth on social media. I have idea that some people flaunt their wealth on social media just to get more followers. But even with that, there are certain things that we don’t need to say in public, especially on social media. Things like someone claiming is holding amount cryptocurrency such things have to remain private. This just reminds me of a story I heard about a young man who lied in public, claimed to have a large amount of bitcoin. A week later, the man was kidnapped and killed. So, we should always be careful about what comes out of our mouths because we never know who might be around us at that particular time or are around us.

It turns out there's something even more horrific than your story. He lied about his assets, and then criminals kidnapped and murdered him. This is a tragic incident. He lied just to show off something he didn't actually have, and then he was killed. It's ridiculous.

Returning to the case raised by the OP, that's why maintaining privacy is important, even crypto assets themselves are private. Privacy is actually an advantage in crypto, but why do so many people want to flaunt their assets? This is wrong because it not only attracts criminals but also threatens our lives.

Usually, those who frequently flaunt crypto assets are those who crave praise or recognition for their wealth. Or those who want to gain followers or viewers. Hopefully, all of us in this forum can learn from this case to better protect our privacy when using crypto.

Some people think it's a flex to talk about how much money they have on social media because it's a common misconception that when you show that you are rich, you get followed by more people as they get interested in what you do. How you live, how you make your money, etc. It's somehow true that people today care more about the lifestyle of others than their own, and they love watching content where people flex and show what they've got in life, but those doing it shouldn't be so naive as to reveal everything.

There are two things one needs to make sure they don't reveal when they are either streaming or generally posting content on social media.

1. Your wealth, or how much money you make, be it from trading, streaming, or any other source of income you have.
2. Your location. Don't stream from around the place you live, or even if you do, make sure you are not showing things that reveal your exact location, especially if you are frequently found around there.

So many people don't take this thing seriously, because they, for some reason, believe that no one will come for them even if they reveal everything, but that's not true. Those who are evil and watching you from around where you are, are always looking for hints that they can use to find you once they realize you have wealth, or valuables worth a lot. So if you don't want to become an easy target, but do your thing, and don't flex, because that can get costly sometimes, and instead of building aura, you will be giving away either your wealth or your life to one of the attackers you attract.

A lot of people in the crypto space don't care about their privacy anymore. Instead, they love to show off on social media about their crypto involvement and make themselves a target for criminals. I don't know what's the fun in doing this. Are they doing it to get more followers and people to subscribe to their channels or they are doing it out of ignorance for a mere show off.
People believe whoever is into cryptocurrency is doing well, and that's why people derive joy from letting the public be aware they have cryptocurrency. People who want to give the public the impression they have crypto don't understand it because if they really understood cryptocurrency, Bitcoin especially, they would make their investment secret and wouldn't want anyone to know because they understand the risk in letting the public know they possess some Bitcoin.

The text did not explain well of the title, you would have given us the reason why the woman was apprehended by the criminal, so in every thing the title of this thread did not suit to the text

But due to common sense and little explanation you made I think I'm able to understand your points of views, that means what you're insinuating, is that making gest of your crypto private key or exposing your privacy in crypto is not good and hoodlums can be easily penetrates on you because of that,

But from my views this victims has flaunt in internet by exposing themselves through social media via crypto and that is why they demands such in cryptocurrencies, this is a very big lesson to all of who showcase whatever they have for internet.

The thread is not about streamers or careers. This can happen to anyone who shows their crypto wealth, and most cases happen to normal people. Because they are normal people you don't hear about it in the news unless the quantity of money involved is very big or if something very specific happened.

The safety of our crypto asset lies in our hands, which is why privacy should be our priority in the crypto space in order to avoid whatever problem that might play out from our own unsafe practice in the future.
A good number of bitcoin enthusiasts are not really enthusiastic about Bitcoin because of decentralization or privacy, they are just there because it is a store of value and hedges against inflation. So, they'll let the public know that they also own bitcoins just to boost their ego. Now we can all see, the public is becoming more aware and the bad guys are beginning to attack those they feel have made it in life.

This is another sign for all bitcoiners to embrace privacy and anonymity like their lives depend on it. People won't attack what they don't know and have not seen. If anyone must let the public know they are into Bitcoin (maybe as Bitcoin mentors), they must as well keep their location hidden from the public by all means.

Whether it’s crypto or not, as long as it has huge value that any criminal would die for it, then it should never be shared in social media, in group discussion, or even in close friends and relatives as they can sometimes be the source of any criminality.

This is a lesson for any social media influencer not to flaunt the achievements you have, the riches you’ve accumulated, and the huge amount of earnings you have in your bank account, regardless if your reason is to inspire other people, still that would not be an excuse to scammers and criminals out there who are just waiting for their new victims.

To protect yourself and your family from harm, it is best not to disclose your crypto assets or other assets to the public or show them off on social media. Flexing behavior, especially on public social media, can invite danger for individuals who like to flexing and their families because criminals and robbers will target such people as their victims. So as long as the action is not profitable and can cause negative effects that can endanger lives, then it is better to be anonymous or hide assets from others, and life will be more peaceful.

Is this a new incident or this was also the same situation that she's been a victim of these attacks? Nevertheless, it's true that we shouldn't flaunt our crypto holdings in the public. She's a streamer and she should just stick to the content and streams that she's doing without the need to mention of how much she's got and anything related to crypto if she's not a crypto influencer. Never ever disclose anything related to your private life. I understand that there are people that are satisfied to flaunt with how much they have and what they have. But this time, the world is suffering and it's dangerous to share such finances in public or mostly crypto holdings.

The problem for her is basically not solved. Once they create a post or broadcast saying that someone has cryptocurrency, these people will attract the attention of more than one scammer. Today, she managed to get out of a dangerous situation, but no one says that the same thing will not happen again. The Internet remembers everything, and for people who cannot be modest, such a memory is always dangerous.
All that you have said are true, if someone tells that they've got crypto and they have a huge following in IG or X. They will never know the bad guys that are following them and will monitor their actions if they know that they're living in the same area. And it's a fact that no one can say if it will never happen again because there is no mystery here. If there is no way for the bad guys to get attracted to the wealth that she or anyone possesses because of their bragging, they won't be attracted. But if they think that it's also part of their job as influencers to share their wealth and crypto holdings they have, they should be careful at all times and never trusting to anyone.

Kaitlyn 'Amouranth' Siragusa was just lucky that her plan worked. She would have lost her money or been badly hurt. The days of showing off or telling people that you own cryptocurrencies are over. Even educating people about cryptos is becoming risky.  Some people assume that anyone who owns crypto, especially Bitcoin, is rich.  They are now aware that Bitcoin could be bought in bits.

It is better to keep your cryptos secret because you don't know who is listening or watching. One of the reasons why Bitcoin was created was to promote privacy. If we can keep our mouths shut and live moderately, then we have a higher chance of living in peace.

Lessons are better learnt from experience but not all lessons, I guess anyone who is going to deal with fame or have online presence should be 100% aware that they could be target, the fact is that the husband and wife were only lucky that the criminals are more likely to know them in person and are merely amateurs hence they would have been seriously hurt or lost all they claimed to have had in bitcoin or crypto. The social media isn't just a media for entertainment only it's now a tool used for and against those who use it, and consciousness or censorship on words you should use for personal safety should be prioritised.

The world is not safe and we should learn how to be more private when it comes to our financial status. It should not come out publicly for the world to know. One of the things that are most precious to humans that they’re not suppose to make public is your income, the world should not know and keep speculating on what your source of income is, it’s much better and safer for you. Showing off your large wealth without having any security for yourself is a dangerous act and we should stop publicising our wealth because we only ending up with likes, more followers, good comment and insecurity onto ourselves.

This is why am a big fan of privacy . There’s some things I can’t post on social media related to crypto , I hardly talk about them especially on big social platforms, usually see influencers /content creators showcasing their asset on their social handle to get some reactions .

Not knowing that they are also endangering their lives because many folks are at there looking for any opportunity scam one of their assets.

Not only in cryptocurrency but in our life, we should learn how to be quiet because the world is not like before again in which we discussed and tell people our success and they join you to celebrate no it is not like again so keeping quiet is the latest success code in the world.
Our mouths can put us in trouble in any day and probably it is not that instant but years to come.

This only proves that whether you share your wealth online or offline, it won’t make you safe at all. The people around will always have something to say, and some attacks unfortunately are already planned without your knowing, thus leaving you and your completely family in danger. So I won’t suggest flaunting your cryptos or fiat achievements, regardless of your personal reasons, this is actually against your personal well-being and safety.
