I know titanium is still the best material for storing seed phrase, while followed by steel. I think this indirectly answered you're question. They are both good.
titanium can typically withstand up to 600 C - provided it is not too thin, thin titanium can combust.
I personally prefer stainless steel which has a melting point of around 1400 C.
Titanium is stronger than steal also in melting point. It can go higher temperature and not melt when steel or stainless steel has already melted.
Titanium has melting point over 1600 deg C, and 600 deg C is melting temperature of aluminium, so probably it was mistake.
Both stainless steel and titanium are great for cold storage and could withstand usual fires. Also they both are corrosion resistant.
To both materials in my opinion only downside is that they set off metal detectors if you want to carry your cold storage on plane or building under security.
.
Has anyone conducted tests/research on the different types of metals' strength for a cold storage wallet? I'd be curious to know.

You could find this interesting, there was various cold wallets tested to fire, acid and hydraulic press, but there was no tungsten wallet tested as far as I know:
