I downloaded Trezor Suite 25.7.4 win.exe file. I tried to run it but a Microsoft dialog box came out saying that 'Microsoft Defender Smartscreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.'
Is it safe for me to run this exe file ?
You should stop using stupid wind0ws and their dumb defenders, and than switch to open source linux alternative OS.
In all cases you should make sure to downloaded Trezor Suite app from official website, but you can also run it in your web browser as alternative.
Than you don't need to download anything, but you should bookmwark Trezor Suite web version just in case:
https://suite.trezor.io/web/I use Linux Ubuntu for more critical Bitcoin-related operations. I've tried xubuntu and Linux Mint, but Ubuntu is the one I like best. I think I've been using it since 2018.
I use Windows only for browsing the internet and everyday tasks.
For those curious about Linux, the Linux distribution most similar to Windows is Zorin OS, the graphical interface is similar to Windows 10 or 11.
Remember, to use hardware wallets like Trezor on any Linux distro, you need to add
Udev rules, and everything will be fine.
I've never used any antivirus on Linux, so you won't get those annoying notifications and false positives like you do on Windows, you are your antivirus.
