In some countries it is part of requirement to have a good credit balance, it's often checked to ensure that these personnel have enough money and wouldn't have to do something illegal. It might not be the best fun to catch in the field but these are people sacrificing for the good of the country, they have choices on what should keep them entertained.

Soldiers are also meant to be psychologically strong and that should be helpful resisting addiction, with the limited free time and much concentration, it will be difficult for any military personnel to catch gambling addiction.

Nobody should be denied the privilege of gambling, all we need to do is to ensure that we are in the right position to gamble, we shouldn't mix up things at the cause of gambling, so that others will not say bad of us in gambling, that we are serving our country does not mean we shouldn't enjoy our own self too, we only have to be tactical about it in other to to portray a bad image of our own self.

As far as I know, the military are one disciplined and coordinated group of people. The military environment is so coordinated with every activity well scheduled. The soldiers will only have time to gamble when they are free to gamble. It is not like they'll will spend every minute of their time everyday gambling. I will give you that argument that soldiers are human too. But in any case you forget, they are not just ordinary people, they are to serve and protect their country. So with that there is a heavy burden on their shoulders to become what they've promised in their career.

People gamble and not everyone of them get to addiction. The fact that some people lose control of themselves and get addicted should not deprive others of potential for fun. It is just like some soldiers smoke while others don't, so it doesn't really matter if such machine is drop in the military area and moreover it is not at the war front but at the base where they relax to cool of.

Soldiers are human beings and deserve to given some attention because what they face at the war front is between life and death. So therefore, they should also have a means to leisure. Talking about addiction, I'm such they have command who regulates their activities there. Soldiers are highly discipline people and they obey superior order.

Yes, that is one reason that the military government says, and of course we can understand the situation of our military men specially in front of the wars. They will really need to have some sort of recreation to get away from the horrors of war.

They are not allowed but still they go which i think could lead to a serious offense if they are caught. I suppose that if they allow gambling it is because this was studied in advance and because it helps release tension in the soldiers, I do not see any problem with that, since in the army, for example, soldiers are busy enough to fall into gambling addictions that require time and dedication, I suppose that is the point, the time that soldiers can dedicate to it, I want to think that it should only be specific moments, and it is more to release tension than anything else, so that the soldiers can carry out their work in an emotionally healthy way.

That is true. Soldiers have the most discipline. They are used to following orders and just doing things even if it is hard. The amount of training they do to stay physically fit for sure contributes to being mentally fit as well. The only soldiers I know that end up in a bad place are those who are out of service already and have suffered from really traumatic events that messed them up so they use other vices to survive like alcohol or even gambling.

This depends on the rules of their training and oath as a soldier. If gambling addiction is specified to be illegal as a character of being a soldier, then they could be dismissed from their service. But the fact that the government puts inside their military base slots machines tell us that such practice is not illegal on their part.

I also do submit that being addicted to gambling is somehow irrelevant and immaterial to these soldiers. Again, their last day could be today or tomorrow depending on the status of their mission.

Of course it doesn't make them ineligible to serve. These machines probably help them feel like they have some sense of control in a foreign place because its familiar and entertainment and hence provided comfort. The US forces provide everything a soldier needs so even if they were completely broke and had a gambling addiction they would still  be able to perform their duties.

We need here someone who has served in the military and that person can tell us how they spend free time, how emotionally difficult was his time in military and how he has coped with stress. Right now we only guess and make theories, but we need to see kitchen from inside. Some purpose that soldiers can get addicted, but what if they dont even have free time for gambling or gamble between each other for fun or as a part of team building.

I think it depends on severity like any addiction if it impacts judgement, discipline or operational readiness, it becomes a problem that the military has to address. They’d have support systems in place to catch and help someone before it gets to that stage. I guess entertainment for soldiers is important but maybe slots aren’t the best option. Being addicted to gambling will definitely have negative effects, but if we observe some positive aspects in the case of ordinary gamblers, then there are several aspects that will be quite enjoyable for the military forces. We know that every military member works tirelessly. They work for the welfare of the country. They have to stay away from their families. On one hand, hard work and on the other hand, they have to make sacrifices. If they gamble to enjoy temporary pleasure, then it will be enjoyable for them. Since their entertainment space is limited, if someone gambles for temporary pleasure, it will not be much harm.

For what I know gambling addictions has huge effect on the individual talk more of a soldier serving the count being addicted, I think it's going to make him so vulnerable such that it would be seen as though he's born with it. The fact that it eases them from stress and worries from work and home doesn't signify that they should be addicted while engaging in gambling activities and as one serving the country there should be some level of control.

My brother used to work in the US military base in Afghanistan and Iraq but never told me that they have slot machines in the bases.
As of gambling during serving on army has became much more mainstream thanks to the access to internet and gambling sites online. Mobile is a private device where army personnel can gamble as they wish. There has been documentation of more gambling among soldiers who are in real war frontline specially in Ukraine and Russia. As they are already taking a much larger risks, the risks of gambling might look small. Specially the Russians are said to be addicted to gambling as they are getting a higher salary paid regularly. Gambling is one of the reason why they prohibited using personal device in frontlines but the soldiers still do it in secrecy or inside a safer base.
