But because it has been appearing on social media platforms, it encourages people to gamble despite their situation.

While this might be true, it’s really difficult explaining to the poorest of the poor, those who don’t have a job or live far below the minimum wage of their respective nations. When you are well below the low income range and you are into gambling, it’s almost impossible not to gamble with the hope of getting that break through from gambling, that one lucky win that could change your life for the better.
Unfortunately, that never happens and you find them falling farther down the income level.

The good part is, they could change that, gamble really less and give more time to what brings in the income they gamble with. That would in a way help their finances, by not aiming too high but setting goals that could be archived rather easily.

Anyway, back to topic, such mindset will only give the person to get more addicted and lose all those funds from gambling. Its the same stories i heard/read on socmed sites, stories from their relatives or own story telling their experiences.

If he is still not convinced yet that he is wrong, then you let him learn from experience. Experience is certainly the best teacher for some people. That is just the most you can do.

Advising him to stop his strategy will be bad for him. Not everyone that will like such advice. Anything a person does that gives him comfort he should do, if it works for them it's ok, but if it doesn't work out it's also ok. Sometimes trying to correct people may look like you are an enermy of progress without knowing the important of what you are fighting against. Sometimes it's good to learn the hard way. You can only play your part and leave the rest until such person uses his money to pay for his actions.

If your friend, OP, plays every day and regularly loses, the question is, where does he get the source for buying coupons every day? It can also be said that those who allow themselves to gamble daily are no longer poor people, since we understand that it is difficult to win regularly. Experience teaches in such a harsh way that causes you pain most time hence experience isn't something that I would want to learn from. It's better we learn from the experience of others because there isn't any mistakes that I want to make that others haven't made already and learning from them will save me time and money hence I think the OP should help his friend out instead of allowing him to learn from experience.

Some of us are so ignorant that we make mistakes that can cause us lots of money that's almost impossible to recover from. Nobody will help gambler except himself - he just wouldn`t hear anybody, until he understand the problem himself.
We see stories from casinos about successful gamblers, who get big prize with one bet. They willn`t tell us about thousands of losers.
The only way you can help your friend is to teach him calculation. He can calculate win chance, his win rate. And as result he can calculate how much money he spend per week, per month, per year. If after it he wouldn`t change his gambling behavior - it stops to be your problem.

Gambling for more than 10 years without any gain is enough to tell them that gambling is not for profit making but rather for fun, and anybody who gambles should do that with funds they could afford to lose, and also they should do away with the mindset and mentality of gambling as a source of income otherwise it is the beginning of their way to addiction.

Well if he has been losing for so many years and still he thinks that he is going to win big a house, nice car and fancy clothes then he needs to visit a psychiatrist. He is not living in the real world but in a distorted reality that keeps him in a loop and keeps him losing money in a consistent way. He needs to be advised by you, his friend  should do a great job in convincing him that he is living through illusion and this is extremely bad in real life such persons get hurted the most, when they get out of their bubble they are the most disappointed ones, so please correctly and gently get your friend out of that dangerous bubble.

A lot of people that gamble have actually lost more than they have gained but you're probably not supposed to look at it in that perspective. Gambling is not supposed to something a person should depend on to live, the chance of even winning a small odd is 50/50 so how does this your friend intend to get rich from this gambling. I am sure this friend of yours has no money and can't afford to stake high so his chances of getting rich from this gambling is very slim.

Gamblers are not even ready to know this, what drives most gamblers into gambling is just because of greed. Because of the fat reward that can be achieved from gambling some gamblers don't even think about the risk , they just go in with their selfish interests expecting to win big in gambling. Gamblers don't see any reason to understand gambling first before going into gambling because they lack the patience,  they are just after their interest and this the reason why people will keep getting addicted to gambling .
