[Request] Application for a moderator on the beginners and help board.

So basically I was skeptical on the best board to place this since the application ought to be on the board being requested about. Anyways that aside as the title reads I intend to be a bitcoin talk moderator in the beginners and help. I have a couple of reasons which I'll narrow down to ;

• Firstly the begginers and help board is a major board on the forum and as a result it can be spammed most times due to the multiple posts being created in it.
  
  
• Newbies have a high chance of posting there which most times can be off topic or be in the wrong board since many may not yet know the right board to choose.
  
  
• I have a decent report accuracy of over 91% across different boards but majorly the beginners and help board.
  
  
• Most times unhanldled reports stay longer than expected (I believe because of the work load of global moderators).
  
  
• I'm a very active member on the forum with decent number of days of login count on the forum ( thanks to the decent amount of time I spend surfing and reading on the forum).

All this reasons which you gave why you should be made the moderator of begginers and help board are tangible reasons, I like your energy in this forum and in the local board, and you are among the people I see as a my role model in this forum, because you're good and quality poster in this forum. But all the same we can only give our supports, but the person who have the final say is theymos, but I will really be glad if he will look into this your request and grant it because I trust you to be a good moderator goodluck.

Even though the Report feature says "one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports", I wouldn't like it if Mods take the wrong decision 9% of the time. I'd expect most people to be around 99% accuracy.

For what it's worth: I don't think Mods are selected based on their applications.

as someone who can still be considered a newbie on the forum i can confidently vouch that you are more than qualified.
Personally you have been really helpful to me by pointing me in the right direction when it comes to making meaningful contributions here!!!! especially through your recommendations and suggestions on what to do and where to find valuable nd informative data.

The Beginner & Help board is a very important component of the forum and being the foundational board and a stepping stone into the forum, it is good to have someone actively monitoring activities there and supporting newbies on how to navigate through the forum and also grow in Bitcoin knowledge. You are a perfect match for such role based on what I have seen you do, your passion for the improvement in the quality of discussion and the growth of Bitcoin in general. I commend your attributes and dedication to always efficiently serve the community Op, I see your contributions every here and there in the forum which I may classify useful to the forum. I wouldn't doubt, you're an active users with your efforts wise of regular posting.
In the other hand, someone has just recently raised an awareness about the respective Beginners and Help board which is left empty with no occupant as moderator but it was encountered by EFS on the quote below.

Have you made a lot of reports in the Beginners & Help section and they were left unhandled? Or did you open this thread just because you saw there were no listed board-specific moderators? If the reports haven't been looked into, theymos might consider appointing a new moderator, but just because you don't see a moderator name there doesn't mean the section isn't moderated. Admins and Global Moderators (and for Newbie's posts, Patrollers) can all handle reports.

If there are posts you think deserved merit but didn't receive any, feel free to list them and send a PM to me. If I find them suitable, I'll distribute merits.

On that note that those global Moderators haven't been relented towards keeping the board cleans in the order of moderators, I think Theymos might overlook your request because there're already or still users who are filling that gap to the best expectations yet. So if those global Mods are still willing and active with the services then I think you shouldn't be at expectations that Theymos will implement your request.
But if in all those unofficial Mods has decided to opt out with the service and Theymos decides to consider someone else, then I'll recommend you Mia Chloe to be suitable for the position.

Unlike other boards, the Beginning and Help section is somehow lacking the attention it need from moderators and merit sources. Considering it to be the core part of the forum, which connects new members and existing members of the forum. It will be a plus to the community to see that more attention is giving to the B&H section.

With that being said, more priorities should be getting a good moderator, and the OP has shown great qualities. He can carry out the task properly.

If I can remember correctly @Xal0lex is the moderator for that section (Politics & Society) and he has been active upon his duties, though there is nothing wrong adding additional moderators but I think it's not something worth submitting application as theymos know how to select moderators. For me, beginners & help sections doesn't need too much monitoring because that sections is the entire place meant for everyone to express themselves irrespective of their English level or communication skills they should be allowed to post whatever they feels like than careful monitoring them or deleting posts.

Additionally, we also needs to understand that forum gives everyone free access to carefully express their feelings irrespective of whom or where they are coming from and at least the freedom should be displayed over there and allow them to write and expresses themselves, and of course you can use the report to moderator options which I think would work properly.

However, if by selecting mod is by application then I support your application.

• Community vote.

Most of times, a new moderator was chosen this way but there are few direct appointments from theymos such as Andreas Antonopoulos as a Greek moderator many years ago.

Even though he didn't post here, I made aantonop the moderator. He's the one who requested that the Greek section be created.

But it is good to know that theymos did not created any thread that who is interested to be a moderator should created a thread about it on Meta. Only merit source I know of that is like that.

This is a really cool piece of Bitcointalk trivia that I never heard about until today. Andreas was the entire reason why I got into Bitcoin in the first place. Meni Rosenfeld, another BTC evangelist and semi-celebrity that developed the original Colored Coins protocol, was the moderator of the Hebrew board for quite some time.

This is my second year of being non the forum and I have known you for awhile since you became the member of the Nigerian local board. Actually you are a well known user in the forum and I believe you know how the forum works which means you are in support to help grow the forum more.

However I'have made only nine reports and gotten 78% accuracy but I believe you have made more that mine and your accuracy might either be @90% or probably on 100%. Am just assuming though but I believe you know a post that can be on each of the boards. Besides you are an active poster on the forum and you will endeavor to keep the board clean.

Mia Chloe request is for Beginners and help board not Politics & Society, spot the difference, right now Beginners board has no Mod. If the mountain refuse to come for Muhammed then Muhammed goes to the mountain. We've seen recent adjustments and this is not exceptional, the first part is knowing if the user behind the application is fit for that position, and the rest is left on theymos.

I can support Mia Chloe as a Moderator of Beginners and Help as well.
She is a nice and helpful Member and I can imagine these advantages are necessary for a good Beginners and Help Moderator.
In my opinion, Mia Chloe is perfectly suited for a Beginners and Help Moderator.

Maybe your orientation will change if you become a moderator because moderators are giving guidelines on how to moderate. If I should not be self-centered, the board is still having some good posts. But just that some people do not visit the board, thinking it is full of shit or probably because of what they know already and thinking it is no more new. Do not forget it is existing for beginners and help.

These are good enough reasons why the beginners and help board needs a moderator for the effective running if the board, the beginners board is no doubt a place where newbies will visit first to ask questions and get help. We should expect a lot of inexperiences in that board therefore a moderator is important to moderate the affairs of the beginners.

@Mia Chloe, is highly qualified for this important role of a beginners and help moderator, he/she is an active member of the forum and makes meaningful contributions in every discussions. I believe in the capability of Mia Chloe, as an intelligent person to moderate the board and to do the needful when it is necessary to keep the board spam free.[/list]

I believe you can handle the job of a moderator in the beginners and help section very well so I give you my support. The board has been without a moderator for quite sometime now, I always wondered why it was left so when miningbuddy was no longer active.

I often submit reports from this board, and as many who have voted here may find surprising, all reports are processed properly and quickly. I don't mind a moderator in this section if the admin needs it, but if reports are processed, then someone is doing it. Doesn't this seem like a pitch for a position that is already being filled by someone? As far as I know, moderation is paid. Why take away something that already belongs to someone?

It is a good motive and I believed the best way is foe the admin to choose one to the place that the moderator (s) is needed. I have not seen moderators application here before but basically it is selected by the admin through pm. And I believed it is base on your reports.
Many people have a good report in the beginners and help boards but their are not interested but to be mod. But since you are interested admin will look into your case.

And one thing is that if you have 91% accuracy of your reports in the beginners and help board, that means the moderators in that board is also active.
