Another is for Global Recognition. Working for big companies like Google, Microsoft, or Amazon, helps boost your CV and also opens doors to other higher level jobs, bigger projects, and more networking opportunities that might not be easy to find while living in Nigeria.

It is not only our tech people that these factors you mentioned affects, it cuts across all of the skilled academic discipline in Nigeria.

But for my view, most people would have stayed if the pay is able to take care of the inflation rate but omo where nothing is adding up from infrastructure and electricity, to government support and social welfare that is adequately lacking, bad road and insecurity etc, people most japka. When they do not have enough facilities to develop their talents, they are desperate for alternatives. You call it brain drain but I do not agree with it. The spread of modern technology in Nigeria is slow. Due to corruption and lack of proper planning by political figures, most of the youth are deliberately going abroad. If there were enough facilities in Nigeria, no one would want to leave their motherland because I think most people do not want to leave their families and go to another country. Right from time nigerians has always nurtured that belief or mindset of making it bigger when they travel abroad, and I don't think is completely a good idea because instead of running up and down looking for an already made place, why can't you make your own land nigeria a place that you want, that dream land that you desire, this is the problem will are having in this country and with this mindset of ours (nigerian) we can never stand out among other countries.

   Na true you talk bro ,The problem we have in this country is that government waste a lot of funds on useless projects and forgetting the ones that can really impact the country. No offense though but Nigeria has a lot of smart and talented people yes even smarter than the white people. But still we are limited by the resources we are given. even now there are people that went to school to study computer engineering, civil engineer, and other talented courses in school and graduate with first class. There is a lot of talent in our country but they are facing obstacles in all fields. The government should launch more long term projects to improve the education system of the country where modern technology will be incorporated. Our people are still struggling for basic needs where the government actions lag behind in implementing satisfactory programs for the development of those people. The impact of inflation and the number of people living below the poverty line still worries us and all expectations are dashed when in the end people are ready to sell themselves abroad for their own development.

Everything you mentioned here are factors affecting every work sector not just those in tech. I don't really agree that these are the reasons why they travel abroad. If there's one thing you should know is, tech is wide and there are always opportunities for everyone because it's a self employed skill, there are people out there that are always going to look for you if you can give them what they want. When a developer spends half the day battling power outages, unstable internet and the high cost of essential tools, the creativity and focus needed for top-tier projects becomes lacking. The thing is that they Nigerian government has failed to fix her country's economical situations, instead they focus on themselves alone not recognizing the fact that when a country is well developed she becomes more richer in wealth and other aspect, putting infrastructure and basic amenities and other necessities into place will help retain and develop our good brains instead of killing their idea, which is what the Nigerian government does, they don't bring out your potential but there foreigner does and help you build your life and career, makes you who you want to be, our present leaders are too self centered they don't care about how the country goes not like our leaders of old.

The reason why people are traveling abroad is not just to make money, but because of the basic amenities we lack in this country. Living abroad is even more expensive, even if there are more opportunities to make money.

However, people prefer to settle there because they have a system that works for them, and the problems are fewer. They focus on how to make a lot of money to meet their bills, while here we face many problems that seriously affect our mental health.
