The Easiest Way to Format Posts on Bitcointalk (No BBCode Skills Needed)

Hello, how are you all?

Actually, in this forum, we can learn a lot and write a lot, but the problem is that even though we know a lot in this forum, we all have to face problems when writing because we have to write using BB code.This problem is especially common among beginners, many people cannot write in BB code. So, after searching for this problem, I created a website with the help of AI.

That is, through this website, you can convert everything you write in this editor to BBcode.

Suppose you want to create a table, but creating a table through BBcode is very difficult and beginners cannot understand it. But you can create a table very beautifully through this code editor. You can create a table here in the same way as you create a table visually in Google Docs and convert it to BB code. 

• So here you can see I have created a table and some bullet points in the text editor, I have created it in this text editor. 

• Then to convert it, I just need to click on the button marked above and our text will be converted to BBcode.

Now just copy the code and past into bitcointalk.

I have given the link to the website below. You can try it if you want, it is a very great website for those who write regularly and want to design. It’s a small thing, but tools like this can make forum life a lot easier.

Like the fact you created the tool outside the forum and not one of those requesting everything to be changed in the forum in their favour.

Using the tables as example of what seems to be had for newbies sometimes, now frequent will a newbie come across your tool? that is not guaranteed, because definitely it goes down and only a few will be able to go down and find it.

Additionally, if you hit the HELP button of the forum there is a provision of how to navigate the tables and write them manually but this days newbie of the current people of the world don't like to do things manually, basically depends on AI to do all that for them hence it will be patronize enough than the actual provision by the forum.

But the others which I believe majority use if they plan on using BBCode are not really hard to use.

Not compulsory. Is possible to give a hit home response without using BBCodes.

This tool by OP if majority finds it interesting can also be listed among the ones listed on the thread I mentioned above.

And yet what I said earlier still holds that only if it doesn't go down where it can be rarely seen since everyday new threads are coming up and old ones go down below third and fourth pages making it hard to notice or used by newbies.

It would be great if you could integrate this tool into a web extension.
There are many coders on the forum; it should be easy to find someone to help you with that.
Having an external tool is a bit impractical, but I think it’s worth the extra effort.

Thank you for the suggestion. I also thought it would be really useful if it could be integrated into the website. I will try to work on this.

I think this will be useful for anyone who creates tables often. Not only beginners but even veteran forum members struggle with creating tables. For example, I am too bad at managing tables, so I always avoid creating them. It looks messy when we edit the table and want to update the content. I have quoted some tables before to check how they did it.

But since we do not do these things regularly, remembering the name of your tool would be difficult. As filippone said, it would be better if you could create an add-on so people can use it. I have been seeing some tools lately, but seems like no one continue with their tools after a certain period of time.

The idea is really good, a great helping hand for those who don't know bbcode, so your effort is to be commended!
But as they already said upstairs, it would be more useful to have it as a web extension than as a site outside of Bitcointalk, it becomes impractical.

I too have created a couple of userscripts for Bitcointalk, but they were written in my home language, when I have some time I will translate them and share them with you!

Your work is good but you have to go outside the forum to use it which is not commendable. If you can convert this script of yours into an extension which will automatically show when writing a post directly in the forum then it will be much better. Because writing any text from outside the forum and returning to the forum and posting again is very time consuming that if you accept the time and trouble you can learn about BBcode very well from the forum textbox. And the forum textbox has all kinds of shortcuts from where you can easily use the codes. So there will be no need to go outside the forum and design the post. But yes it can help those who are totally beginners and don't know about any single BBcode

Well it depends on how much you understand programming and codes basically even if you are making use of an AI module to do it you still need to have a certain level basic understanding for you to be able to apply those codes. And AI can assist but it cannot do all the work entirely you still need human effort to put those codes together.

I can still vividly remember a member here creating a tooth for tracking signatures basically for mostly campaigns but sadly the idea wasn't bought full time mostly because it involved AI usage full time.

Recently I saw a clip where someone just created a website that is ready to run using AI I have been hearing but it never occurred to me how much it happens this days, my concerns are hosting, I guess AI would do everything this days but hosting the website will basically manual because it doesn’t require automation. Seeming to me that most programmers are the first set of individuals to be left out of market because AIs will take their jobs… BTW just kidding even AI can’t prompt itself so basically human power is needed.

Great job OP! Honesty speaking, even I can't properly make tables. It's a nightmare with all those BBcodes, there is always a chance you'll mess up..And when you include mobile phones into the story (many times I'm using mobile to visit BTT) then the pain increases to the next level. Btw I don't see any preview button/option. Will it show exactly how it's shown in your site when I post it here at BTT?

Yes, almost everything will look the same on BitcoinTalk. But in some cases, these tools add some extra tags that are not supported in the forum. For example, if you want to create a list, it adds an extra [ul] tag. Which is not supported in BitcoinTalk. So you must remove this tag when posting on the forum.

Thank you very much for trying, the emojis are not working because these emojis are not supported in Bitcoin forum. So I will suggest you to use the inbuilt emojis of this forum. And I will try to upload this script on greasyforks.

You have done a great job, through this, those who basically do not know about BBcode can easily design a post the way they want to arrange the post. It is definitely admirable that you have thought of making such a tool. If you can convert it into an extension, then it will be easier for anyone to use. Since you have been able to create it, I hope you will not have much difficulty in creating an extension. I will be waiting for your extension. Because it can make our work easier. Although it is not for everyone, it will be a great tool for those who are new to the forum and want to organize their posts but have no idea about BBcode.
