I don't have an issue with it. I have always maintained that Bitcoin wasn't created by Satoshi for buying a piece of bread from the bakery next door. Bitcoin is for e-commerce. It's an electronic cash. It's a response to the fact that payments online have to pass through financial institutions. The internet doesn't have direct payments.

If I can't buy a cup of coffee with my Bitcoin, that's perfectly all right. There's cash for it. Cash remains the best form of money. Bitcoin is designed as the version of cash for internet commerce.

Bitcoin is illegal in the country where I live, so we cannot use Bitcoin to buy and sell goods. We sell Bitcoin through P2P and collect our local currency and make full purchases with that currency. In this case, we are using Bitcoin in stages, no goods are purchased directly with Bitcoin, that is why we use Bitcoin most as a long-term holding.
Because Bitcoin plays the best role for cash trade on the Internet, because if we keep money in a local bank, it is owned by a third party. But we deposit cash through Bitcoin holding and the owner of the deposited Bitcoin is himself, so Bitcoin holding is the most popular in our country.

Not natively using BTC, but through a crypto debit card. Unfortunately, that's the only easy way to purchase almost anything today without needing to spend time and persuade the seller to accept your preferred asset.

The time will come, though. It's just a matter of 'when'.

I don't know if bitcoin debit card count since it's basically being converted to fiat when doing a transaction but I've bought plenty of stuff from amazon using it and the process is smooth.

If it's using direct bitcoin, I could hardly found merchant that accept BTC mainly for electronics. Everybody only sell their stuff on ebay or amazon and that's it. So you're kinda stuck with their default payment processor until they integrate bitcoin directly which hopefully happens.

Have you ever purchased a physical commodity using Bitcoin? What's your experience?
i have not used bitcoin to purchase anything or commodity but rather used fiat instead. sometimes when i think about the past how people like Laszlo Hanyecz spent thousands of bitcoin to buy 2 pizzas and considering the current price of bitcoin right now i feel like its a waste of bitcoin because in the future when bitcoin may have hit $500k or $1m i may regret the bitcoin i have used to purchase goods, how it could have increased in value overtime. just like many people have lost large quantity of bitcoin in crypto casino. so when i think about all this scenario i prefer using fiat instead of bitcoin , bitcoin is too precious to be wasted.

People rarely purchase items directly with bitcoin but many indirectly make lots of large purchases. There are many people I know who bought a house with their bitcoin. Obviously they couldnt pay by Bitcoin but what they did was they sent the bitcoin to an exchange, sold it for fiat, and withdraw that fiat into the bank and later used that money to buy a house.

Could they of bought a house directly with bitcoin? Possibily but I am 99% sure that most sellers wouldnt accept bitcoin and it would make it difficult. So they had to sell for fiat and use that to pay for the house. There are other ways of buying smaller items. Many exchanges can give you a prepaid visa and you load it with crypto and as you make purchases it converts the crypto into fiat to pay for the goods and services.

So while its not perfect, the features are still there.

I know a couple of merchants who accept crypto (bitcoin included) for purchase of commodities like cars and houses. They seem to be more common for larger purchases than for businesses that makes regular, smaller sales per day, like a grocery store. I do not try to convince merchants to accept crypto except we both have a personal relationship, as they sometimes get skeptical.

I have used bitcoin to purchase some services online and that seems to be a very apt use of the shiny internet money. In the future more adoption could happen but it collaborates well with fiat now.

I have used Bitcoin very often. I was in Lugano, Switzerland, and paid at McDonald’s with Bitcoin Lightning. I bought water at kiosks,I paid for coffee A months ago, I was in Prague at a Bitcoin conference, and I paid for almost everything with Bitcoin via Lightning.Paying with Bitcoin via Lightning is fast and easy.

I haven't exchanged Bitcoin for any physical goods. That limitation is from the way my country views cryptocurrency transactions. The government in place doesn't have a clear direction on what to do with it. Today, it's restricting its use. Tomorrow, it's okaying it. Such unstable decision and it raises a kind of confusion among businesses which ordinarily would've added crypto payment as option to their payment tab.

As it stands right now, I don't miss not buying stuff directly with Bitcoin/cryptos to be honest. I just exchange to fiat and use. It's even swift that way for me.

Have you ever purchased a physical commodity using Bitcoin? What's your experience?
Basically, Bitcoin is used as an alternative currency, and it is used electronically, so its direct use is still relatively rare, and we also know that most still use fiat directly, but if we talk about the indirect physical use of Bitcoin, then we can find a lot of it, for example, like the story of someone who successfully bought a house or other goods in the real world, which came from Bitcoin that he exchanged into fiat for payment (Indirectly using Bitcoin). However, some time in the future, maybe around thirty to fifty years, I think Bitcoin will start to be widely used directly or physically, and this is because of the increasing adoption that is being done, I believe it will happen.

Personally, I have never used Bitcoin to purchase a physical commodity, because in my country it is still not allowed for its use, but if it is allowed, then I will try it directly, because I feel it will be a valuable historical moment, at least for me. By the way, recently the government in my country has started discussing the adoption of Bitcoin, and I think that will be a way to make it happen.

There are plenty of websites that sell physical items for bitcoin and other coins, and you can literally buy anything you want, same like we are paying with fiat currencies.
First shop that I canthink of is shopinbit.com based in Poland, they are shipping everywhere in EU, but they are not the only one.
I know in Slovenia there are many shops that accept direct payments in Bitcoin, and everything works fine.
Also most hardware wallets are accepting payments in bitcoin.

I have never purchased any physical goods with Bitcoin and that is not a problem for me because I can conveniently use fiat for it, besides most businesses don't accept cryptocurrency. Bitcoin don't need to be used as a currency for payment of goods and services to remain a store of value that is why it is there as an alternative to fiat for people that wants to spend it. Bitcoin adoption is increasing mostly because it is a profitable asset to hold, most holders will rather hodl it and use fiat for their payments. Hopefully in the future it will gain adoption to be used for payments of goods and services.

We can't deny the fact that Bitcoin is a great companion when it comes to trade involving a lot of a variety of commodities, as the case maybe, but rarely physical.

Once I decided to pay with Bitcoin, we agreed on confirmation in 3 blocks. The first block was confirmed in 40 minutes, the second in 20, the third in about 15. And this happened when the transaction had to be done quickly. There are solutions like Lightning Network, but it is not popular in my country. Usually stablecoins are used for payments, very cheap transactions in L2 Ethereum networks or other blockchains like Tron.

Some time ago I walked into a gadget shop were I wanted to replace my laptop so I figured they got the exact laptop I wanted with all the specifications and I was willing to make payments and go home with it because I do not gave the option of revisiting the place since it was way fat from where I reside or even where I work, I taught of paying with my bank card but discovered I had lower balance on the card so I asked if the accept payment in cryptocurrency and they did yess, you need to see how my face lited up😁😁

I opted to pay with Bitcoin as I had some in my wallet and they agreed, I was given their wallet address and the transfer was made and not long after they confirmed and I owned the brand new laptop, I was so happy Bitcoin saved the day for me one which I really didn't expect  to happen but it was a reality.
This is my experience with making  a physical purchase at a shop using bitcoin.

Except for online, but the use of the physical approach in making use of bitcoin for buying and selling may be someone uncommon, consider that its a digital currency, most of the physical businesses are not yet advanced to the level of how the digital platforms have gone with the use of digital currency and support for the use of bitcoin in making their payments of service.

So i will admit that we cant rarely see the majority of businesses in the physical appearance in support for the use, not that they don't exist, but are not being common as we may have it from other platforms that only deals with online payments.

maybe at the time the value of bitcoin has not grown to what we have at the present, it is possible to use bitcoiin for the purchase of small items which is part of the reason why we ave the bitcoin pizza story that is still a big deal till the present but with where we have gotten to that bitcoin is now considered an asset, it is now morereasonable to hold bitcoin rather than spending it to buy just anyhow item that is of a lesser worth to bitcoin. that will only mean that you are trading wjhat is precious for what is not precious.

i have never purchsed a physical goods with bitcoin and the simple reason is not because i would not have wanted to try it out, it is because the major people arounf me that are into sales of small items do not consider a thing as bitcoin as part of a payment option for their marchandise. you can not transact with someone that has no knowledge of bitcoin and even the ones that knows about it do not consider it a payment option nbut look at it more as something that should not be threaded for any and any kind of thing.

Have you ever purchased a physical commodity using Bitcoin? What's your experience?

It is illegal in our country to use BTC as a medium of exchange, therefore these days it is rare to find a shop that accepts BTC. I have also never traveled abroad that supports Bitcoin payment, in conclusion, I have no experience whatsoever & hope that our country will accept BTC as payment someday. Grin

I have in some few occasions makes payment with bitcoin in a super store.
How I felt was very okay with me as I enjoyed the cruise of privacy and minimal transaction fee comparing the fiats that you pay fees according to the value of your payment like you are paying a tax on percentage.

I'm yet to buy commodity with bitcoin or any crypto and stable coin. I hope that soon with the rate of bitcoin reserve policies flying, more countries will open such optional payment system especially buying online. However, I think it won't be a problem if two people agree with each other to deal on commodity for bitcoin like the sale and buying of land or other tangible value product rather than paying for a bottle of bear with bitcoin.

Are you sure that Laszlo Hanyecz would have held his bitcoin beyond $5 - $10 before selling off? Like other OGs who sold early. Most early hodlers won't have their coins up to this time without selling and rebuying. So it won't be a waste of bitcoin if you use it to buy something needful especially when you don't have any other means of sorting your bill.
