Here's my issue:
1) Mr. Diablo abuses his power as a moderator and stickies a post which may bring him monetary gain.
2) Mr. Diablo is very pushy and can not come to terms with people not sharing his opinion on things, making remarks such as "You might wish to remember who the moderator is for this part of the forum."

I request that Mr. Diablo's administrative powers be removed with immediate effect, as he has quite clearly shown that he is in no way capable of such a task.

Honestly, in many ways I agree. However, there are few people who can replace him in his other moderation tasks beyond general moderation. For example, he's really the only person who knows what should be stickied on the Mining board.

If there was any possibility at all that the above post would have been a sticky, then no abuse of power.  Something tells me you can't just insert any name in that post and expect it to have went down the same.

Agreed, nothing wrong with making the thread but making it a sticky is unwarranted.

He wrote the first miner (DiabloMiner) and is the number one most qualified individual to benchmark and tune it for that reason.

DiabloMiner is probably the least used miner. guiminer and cgminer is better than it in every other way. And just because he has skills doesn't mean he can be excused for misconduct. there are other programmers, hire them instead.

You're most welcome!

DiabloMiner is probably the least used miner.
Least used (If that is true, I don't know) does not mean something that performs worse or is necessarily inferior. Some might skip it simply because it is written in Java, even if that is not relevant to its performance.

guiminer and cgminer is better than it in every other way.
Did you miss the part where he also offered to tune conman's cgminer using it?

I see that the thread has been un-stickied, but still cannot find an explanation of the whole fiasco by a staff member. Why is Diablo still a member of the staff? If he knew his decision to sticky the thread would be controversial, why did he fail to consult with another staff member before proceeding?

Even his fellow staff members are noticing how he looks "like a giant dick" when you disagree with him. I don't think this is a good formula for a successful board of staff.

Please revoke DiabloD3's administrative powers immediately.

At the very least, I will be expecting a full and thorough apology to the community by DiabloD3. Just because I know how much his stubborn ass will cringe from all the shame.

After reviewing the feedback from the community, theymos decided to overturn Diablo's stickying of the thread. If theymos wishes to say anything else on this matter, he will have to do it himself. The best I can tell you is that his reasons for keeping Diablo around are both good, and similar to my own earlier reasoning.

I'm not sure about you guys, but looking over his last posts, he doesn't seem to be a calm person.

Read the article, they say shit like "bitmining" and "server wouldn't verify so we had to solo mine". I have no clue what they were smoking, but all I wanted was answers like which miner they used, what args they used with it, and etc etc.

tl;dr: fucking mass media, how does it work

Edit: Also, their testing methodology is bullshit. From my calculations, a 5870 should be around 390 mhash at stock.

he also triple bumps his own thread, even though it's already stickied Roll Eyes
Interested in 79xx support? See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55540

he's also pretty inactive, with only 11 posts this month, and most of them being replies to his diablominer topic, and "gimme a 7970" topic.

No compelling reason to keep Diablo around would explain why theymos still hasn't responded.

I bet there is a correlation between people who don't know what DiabloD3 does and those who don't use IRC.

You could say the same thing for "SomeoneWeird".
