While watching live games this works because having some momentum of game and team surely works recently having not good way of checking live matches not helping but sometime back many games to watch and this always helps.
Many times have matches team losing by 0–1 ends on 2–1 give good profit, but this always needs few things which helps now due to poor internet and poor system of sports channels bringing not good chances.

It is not an illusion, though I would not call it momentum. When a team manages to over-come their rival out of nowhere they gain confidence and start to get better during the match. It has much to do with the moral of the team and how self-awarenesd they have on being able to win the match...

I my openion power of momentum is not something to be imagined, we cant call it illusion. there is a great chance that some factor could affect the outcome,, which factor?? those are your shortterm changes in confidence, approach & defense. we should remember  that momentum does indeed have measurable effects on the game. However keeo in mind, many winning streaks are randomness and when real momentum does exist, it is often small, short lived & quickly priced into the actual odds. so if you waana  take advantage of it you need fast information, solid models &  tight capital control. so imo in in-play wagering you will find everyone often try to chase momentum right?  but beware of the variance, cause it is possible but not easy.
