I don't think that there is a pattern in slot machines, its should be random, i.e (RNG). However, if you guys remember, I put this thread a while ago, The Slot Machine money Glitch. But it's really very difficult to find this so called loophole in slot machine and again, it could be strike of luck that the a individual was able to see the pattern and then exploit it until he was caught but was not acquitted.

I do understand your friends concern because I have talk and see a lot of slot machine players who thought that they see some pattern. Like playing with 5 spin with minimum bet and then increasing it and try for another 5 spin and see how it goes.

With the advancement of technology, I don't think that game developers could make a gambling games that has patterns. It's supposedly design to be random and winning is very hard as it is also based on Return to Players algorithm. So I'm not sure why the friend of the OP says that there are certain pattern. Maybe it's just coincidence that he got a good multiplier or hit the bonus round just because he follow a pattern.

Many persons claim the same like your friend but the reality is different. I am also the type of person who used to believe that after a certain number of spins or lost buy bonuses things will turn around, only to be disappointed by even more massive loses that came right after. Nope, I no longer pay attention with certain patterns because I did that in the past, but instead of outsmart the casino, I find that the result is random, previous result had no effect to the next bet.

This is the most important part, since it's not consistent, don't believe in what he saying. If he really make money from gambling consistently, listen to him, his strategy might really work.

Gambling maybe seen as a game of luck and probability for some people, but to some people it's not, and there are a lot people out there who believe that there are some patterns and some secrets behind some winnings in gambling,  and I myself think same too, because I believe there are some patterns one have to apply when predicting some games in other for you to win them and there are also some secrets which you need to know as well. Since you said your friend didn't win everytime while using his discovered pattern, it shows that his wins are luck based. Each one of us have our own beliefs in gambling, some of us (like your friend) believes in patterns and as you've said sometimes it's a win and sometimes it's a lose, it just confirms that patterns or beliefs don't do existing in gambling especially in slots or game of chance since all of the results are random and there's no outside factors that may affect it.

It's the same thing as playing baccarat. There, you can see that they have history of the winnings and you can see the patterns though sometimes the pattern is right and sometimes it's wrong but in reality it doesn't matter.

I dont understand how it can be a pattern or a strategy there, when there is only one buttom - spin. When I was new, I also thought of that kind of strategy. I used to follow certain patterns, like playing at specific times. Sometimes even at dawn I’d wake up because I believed the slots were “giving money” during those hours.

I think you'll be looking more for a pattern if you are gambling for money, because it requires extra to be observant looking for patterns. When people talk about patterns in random games, for some reason I remember the movie "A Beautiful Mind" where the main character saw patterns in the arrangement of letters and words in newspaper articles. Yeah, I am one of those person who seeks a pattern although I know the truth that there is none.

Well, it gives more entertainment for me when I think there's something out there that is understandable by logic and prediction, and it makes the game more fun.

Not too sure about being interested in pattern but what i came to understand is that everything is achievable and it depends on one's mindset and definitely I don't play slots games occasionally so seeing certain patterns when playing it's unrealistic to me.people differs and so are their demands some see such as opportunity to win but I clearly see it fueled by luck.
