Any overly regulated institution in my country is a no-go area for me, when my country had issues with Binance and went ahead to license two local exchanges Yellow card and another, I did not patronize them because they seemed like a trap to me.

Back to your question, I think that it all depends on the country you live in and your platform of choice. If you live in a country with reasonable rules about gambling, and you don't mind performing KYC, then you can go with local casinos with complete peace of mind. I would say offshore as long as for offshore you can refer to well known reputable casinos here in the forum as we all know almost 0 problems usually happen by using them. I of course have nothing against local casinos as long as they tell you the rules and law before you play there, in my country everything is crystal clear regarding local casinos and they have the worse possible rule, max 100.000 Euros to be paid no matter if you hit the max win of 1 million Euros for example and people still play massively here. They also don't change the rule as often but in the end I vote heavily in the favor of well known casinos here in the forum as the best option for people from any country as long as they have access to crypto.

Offshore casino is still more riskier than local casino with license since you can easily sue the casino in case they have the problem. Local license provider is much stricter and approachable compared Curacao license that usually don’t resolve issues of customers from the casino they are being regulated.

Those local rules is not that strict since even off shore casino doesn’t allowed minors to play.

There’s a lot of problem too on offshore casino that is not answered due to the location problem.

They are of equal risk because the same game you play in fiat can be played in cryptocurrency. Depending on your country, betting on cryptocurrency has so many advantages over fiat. First with cryptocurrency,  you are not being controlled in how much you can deposit neither are you taxed excessively unlike fiat where the government monitor every transaction that happen in your bank account. Well, personally, I prefer playing in offshore casinos using crypto because that’s what I’m used to. As for the risk, there are a lot of reputable casinos here in the forum, just like the one in my signature. You are absolutely right that's the real truth about it because the two are quite the same thing. They are all highly involved in losses so it is only when you approach it wisely that you would be able to control the losses without losing much. Because just like as you mentioned, almost everything that is the fiat casinos is also what is the crypto casinos, so it is left for the gamblers to do it in a responsible way rather than chasing losses.

When comparing the two choices I would say its safe to say local casinos are safer to gamble in. Certified casinos have to observe some standards to ensure that no unfair game is provided. In case of a disagreement in payments, there exists a complaint channel and the government is involved in the checks and balances. If you are a minor, your winnings will not be paid in any casino that asks for kyc before withdrawal.

I cant tell which option is more risky, as risk factor contain both options. But from my own experience, I gamble offline mostly with friends and in 10 out 10 cased it ends with losing deposit. However that did not worry, as this ie my payment for my good mood and time spent. When I gamble online (I do it with crypto, as metamask widget allows to deposit in few clicks), I usually do it alone and if I win, there is a high probability that I would withdraw and spend money wise. In offline casinos, I rarely even think about withdrawal, as we came to casino in a company and leave once everyone have lost their balanced. For me online is more risky, as I can deposit again.

I will strongly advise anyone who wants to stay safe in gambling to avoid offshore casinos. There singular lack of not falling into any place where they can be regulated is a red flag. No matter how, terrible a local casino is, it is still safer in comparison to an offshore casino. At least there you are sure that if shit hits the fan, your lawyer can wade in for you and help in some way sort things out in the legal way.

It really depends on the country and how much you care about your anonymity. There are reliable crypto casinos here that are widely recognized worldwide, so that gives it a better reputation than a local casino.
It depends on the country. I say this because if a corrupt government knows your banking status and you receive a considerably large winnings, you could be in danger.
And regarding privacy, the crypto world is more reliable for obvious reasons, and it's less likely that a third-party casino will share information about your finances with a government.
