I was subscribed to this topic:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306983.0;topicseen

I recently unwatched it but it still does show when there are new posts in it.

How can I permanently remove this topic from unread posts?

How many devices do you use in browsing the forum? or how many browser's are you logged in? probably still watched in one of the devices hence when you unwatch from one place it still remains the same in the other places you're logged in untill you log out of those places then unwatch it will probably unwatch.

And additional if you recently made a post on that thread and in the "Additional options" in the down left corner of your message box/input box click on it and check if your "watch this topic" is marked blue, uncheck the box, because it automatically watches a thread for you without your noticed since it's on.

Taking advantage of this thread to further promote a great tool.

Why don't you use a Telegram notification bot?
A really cool feature maintained by @TryNinja notifies you on Telegram about mentions of your user, merits received, thread replies... and many other settings.

Since I discovered this tool, I haven't used the native SMF notification feature again.

It's worth checking out: The BitcoinTalk SuperNotifier

There are other bots too, if you're interested in trying them out... check out this thread: Unofficial Forum Related Tools

Done that and will see if it helps.

You’re not alone — this happens when you “unwatch” a topic but your browser/session still has it flagged as active due to recent views or replies.

Here’s how to fully remove it from Unread Posts... Go to: https://bitcointalk.org/unread.php

Click the "Mark All Messages as Read" link (bottom right)

Confirm on the next page

This will clear all unread topics, including the one you unwatched.

Note: This is a global reset — so you’ll lose all other unread markers, too. Unfortunately, Bitcointalk doesn’t allow selective unread clearing.

If you want to prevent this from happening again:

Don’t click into a thread unless you really want to follow it

Use "Ignore" boards or threads via your profile if needed

Let me know if that worked for you!

Ah, you're right. I just realized that link won’t work for others if I post it, because it is for the logged in account. Sorry about that.

To clear the topic from your “unread” list:
1. Open the topic
2. Scroll to the very bottom
3. Click **“Mark Unread”**, then immediately click **“Mark Read”** — this refreshes your unread queue.

Or you can use the global option: go to your profile, click **“Show unread posts since last visit”**, scroll to the bottom, and hit **“Mark all messages as read.”**

Hope that helps!

I logged in, and it still shows a 404 Not Found error. Where did you get this link from, btw? Are you sure Bitcointalk has this? The unread page that I know of is accessible near your profile icon, and it doesn't use that link.

isn't it that if u reply to a thread (like i am doing right now)

u can't un-watch/un-notify it?

in some of the sections of the forum the option is not even available and even if u do it

u stil keep getting it in 'show new replies to your post' section unless u go ahead and remove ur post

At the top right side of this thread there are options there which are reply, watch, Notify, unread topic. Try to click on the unread topic and disable the notification through your notifier if you have one.i haven't tried this before but I guess it will help you deactivate the notifications you are receiving from that thread you shared.

If you still haven't fixed the issue, you should check to see if you actually subscribed to the topic and if you did then you would be getting notifications about new replies and to unsubscribe, toggle to your profile then notifications and email there if you find the topic check the box and hit unsubscribe.

If this doesn't fix it go to the board and page you have that particular post , click the checkbox for the post and press mark as read on the top right corner. Then also open the thread and press unwatch on the top right corner.

They suggested the wrong link, but it no longer works, or there is no post.
I found a post and am trying to give it as I am unsure if this is a valid link, but I believe it could also be a solution.

Have you tried unsubscribing the topic via email?

Check your email inbox, you should be getting messages from "Bitcoin Forum". Inside you'll see a link to unsubscribe from the watched topic. Just click it, and it'll take you to a page where you can confirm by pressing Yes or No.

Providing you with images for better clarifications. Hope that helps bud.

I hope I didn't misinterpret your original question. If not, this should fix it. Wink

Currently I am unsubbed to this topic.
I see "watch" and "notify".

In Watchlist editor I don't see this topic, it isn't there.

I've done all of these and now on unread topics page it appeared. It shouldn't.

I have no email subscription to receive emails about posting in threads, so I cannot click there anything.

I recently unwatched it but it still does show when there are new posts in it.
I think i understand what you are trying to say, that is when you read a topic it will appear faded and when a new reply is posted in that same topic it becomes bold to show that a new post has been made there. OP if this is what you meant then am sorry there is no way to stop it because so far as new replies keeps entering that topic it will always appear bold which signifies unread.
After reading the replies of others and the solutions they offered but you weren't convinced, this is what i could think out since you said you don't receive notifications for new posts in your email because if you actually do, unwatching the topic here or unsubscribing directly from your email should have solved it.

I've done all of these and now on unread topics page it appeared. It shouldn't.
As long as that topic keeps getting new replies from users, it will continue to appear as an unread topic.

Not a question but sure that the link is not correct, between he should already get his answer, one post above explained everything as regards to being log into multiple devices and browsers which is the reason why, he still get the notifications even though he already unwatch the thread.

No, that's not what I meant.

I've already applied all solutions from this thread and this 32 BTC topic still I can see in unread (from time to time).

I've already applied all solutions from this thread and this 32 BTC topic still I can see in unread (from time to time).

If you tried everything in this thread and it didn't work I don't think you did something right,

And additional if you recently made a post on that thread and in the "Additional options" in the down left corner of your message box/input box click on it and check if your "watch this topic" is marked blue, uncheck the box, because it automatically watches a thread for you without your noticed since it's on.
The image below 👇 is what I expected you to do the first post I would above.

However if you think none of this solution works for you the  you have to ignore the thread manually, by not paying attention to it.

And however I also want to know where exactly you're getting this notifications from because we could be finding solution to your problem while it's somewhere else, maybe its not the forum it could be a tool you use for notification and we are here finding another place.
