I remember Bitcoin Safe received grants from OpenSats from some time ago.

Just to be sure, are you representative of Bitcoin Safe or just one of Bitcoin Safe user?

Why call it "a wallet for the entire family"? It sounds like sharing one wallet with many people.

It's probably because they have several feature for multi-sig, including built-in chat over nostr.

I remember Bitcoin Safe received grants from OpenSats from some time ago.
Yes correct, the idea is to do NOT relay on grants forever as is not sustainable. The goal is to become somehow sustainable without falling in the fiat business trap, and that's why we are opening up to the community as our priority is to generate awareness about the software, receive feedback and ideally have more contributors and support to have the software more broadly used.

Just to be sure, are you representative of Bitcoin Safe or just one of Bitcoin Safe user?

All current trusted contributors of Bitcoin-Safe.org have access to this account.

It's probably because they have several feature for multi-sig, including built-in chat over nostr.
We initially identified "family" as the cozier and trusted group of people that could be our main target user. Things have changes since then, and we are exploring alternative ways to create awareness not only for "family" usage, but more broadly groups of people that need to multisig remotely in total privacy, anonymity, and security.

Why call it "a wallet for the entire family"? It sounds like sharing one wallet with many people.

Thank you. Yes this was the initial idea, born from a personal need. We are working to improve our communication strategy at the moment. The goal is to reach people that has a need for a sovereign remote multisig that does not use or rely on third parties.

Just to be sure, are you representative of Bitcoin Safe or just one of Bitcoin Safe user?

Yes, we will work on this and notify you both here when the txt file will be created and published.

I highly recommend to read and understand the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.

Multiple consecutive posts within short time frames (less than 24h) as you did are not allowed according to rule #32. It's OK to bump a topic after a minimum of 24h. Delete your own most recent older bumps if you re-bump a topic.

There's no need to answer different users in separate posts. You can always edit your last post and insert quotes of other users you want to respond to by using the Insert Quote links in the Topic Summary below the reply entry box (I'm refering to posting using a desktop browser, not sure if the Insert Quote links are available while posting from a mobile phone).

When I first tested the app, it reminded me a lot of the Electrum wallet. I think Electrum should evolve toward that design. I liked some things, but not so much others, such as:

What's the need to keep labels like 'KYC Exchange' and 'Private'? Separating addresses originating from exchanges and those originating from non-exchanges doesn't guarantee privacy. These UTXOs can mix with other addresses in the output addresses. In any case, it's always the user's responsibility to manage this, they should know how to proceed correctly.

Apparently, the wallet doesn't allow the creation of hotwallets, meaning that those without a hardware wallet won't be able to test the wallet. I tested it with my Trezor (about 3 months ago) and it worked well.

I like this wallet brings to bear the Nostr layer to transfer PSBT data between cosigners, which makes the whole process more secure for them. That said, one question still remains open for me. Does Bitcoin Safe utilize MuSig2 to aggregate all signatures or does it still rely on the native multisignature schemes?

First and foremost, welcome to Bitcointalk!

If you wanted to make Bitcoin-Safe wallet my go-to bitcoin wallet, how would you market it for me? Why should I use Bitcoin-Safe and give up on using my current bitcoin wallets, which include Electrum and Sparrow Wallet. In my opinion, those two have all the features I need. What does Bitcoin-Safe do better or differently than your competitors?

When creating transactions, Bitcoin Safe takes into account the address categories, to avoid linking categories. Categories can however be edited, and new categories created that apply to all wallets. This feature comes to enhance the label and allow better multi-wallet management.

The creation of hotwallets is enables for all testnet, hot seeds are supported. It's disabled for mainnet for many reasons: https://bitcoin-safe.org/en/knowledge/hardware-signer-only/

Thanks for your appreciation on the Chat&Sync feature over nostr. The protocoll is open source and can be easily implemented by other wallets if needed.

For the multisig, we use the native schemes, since this is the best tested, and allows 1 round signing.

Thank you!

Bitcoin-Safe allow to fully manage wallet descriptors, making it easy to customize settings. Another unique feature is the Chat&Sync that allow signers to remotely communicate and coordinate transactions signing without the need to be in the same physical location.

Label synchronization across computers, collaborate PSBT signing, and so much more. The full list of features is listed in our website https://bitcoin-safe.org/en/features/readme/ Check it out and let us know how you like it.

Test Bitcoin Safe and see if you like it, let us know how you compare with Electrum and Sparrow, and if you feel we can do something differently, we are here to hear your feedback and suggestions.

PS: Version 1.5.0 is coming out soon which makes the UI feel super organized also for multiple wallets.

One of Sparrow's major advantages is the ability to connect to a local full node without the need for Electrum servers, which many find complicated to set up. If I wanted to set up a new Electrum server now, I'd have to spend money on an additional SSD to run Electrum.

It would be great if Bitcoin-safe allowed this as well.

In this case it's the tough call to decide which option is better. On one hand aggregated signatures offer better privacy. On the other hand  they require  more complex setup where all co-signers must use MuSig2 compatible wallets including hardware wallets, if any are involved. Given that MuSig2 is still not widely adopted your choice seems to be the most practical for the current situation.

How do you synchronize labels and notes across different computers? Does Bitcoin-Safe save this data online on a cloud, making it available to all your devices in that way or do you support exports and imports using the BIP-329 standard that a number of other bitcoin software does?

I tried to visit your website multiple times but I get a "This site can’t provide a secure connection" error each time. I am not sure if it's down for maintenance or if it's my VPN that's acting up.

It depends on BDK, if direct connection via RPC will be possible. However RPC has many downsides, such as it will always be difficult to setup and slow to sync.
A better and faster solution is Compact Block Filters, which I'm aiming to support as soon as possible.

Given that MuSig2 is still not widely adopted your choice seems to be the most practical for the current situation.

Yes, in the future this might change, and if support for frost/musig is added in BDK, I'll reevaluate it again.

I have developed a protocol https://github.com/andreasgriffin/bitcoin-nostr-chat?tab=readme-ov-file#protocol that uses encrypted nostr messages (NIP17) to exchange messages between the different computers (using an extended version of BIP-329 ).  Satsigner.com is adopting this protocol too, such that you will have cross-wallet label synchronization and PSBT exchange.
