It happened recently on BTC, and altcoins are affected. Bull and bear traps makes the trend or support/resistance make a fake breakout. If you are the one who enters after a breakout, then you are being baited. Losing streaks are pretty common recently, which causes FOMO.

That's why I always check higher time frame daily and 12 hours and possible structure and trend before entering a trade and limit myself; don't overtrade for intraday. They only enter once a day unlike scalpers.
Risk management is one of the best strategies that can avoid these traps and make sure you only enter with pullbacks if your signal is confirmed.

Sometimes on these times, it's better not to trade, as some are eager to open a trade. But with these kinds of market condition right, it's difficult to predict and make money.

It is actually time to take a decision. A decision to take a break. If the market becomes unstable and not choosing a direction, a trader is suppose to back off and allow the market breath. Few days ago the price of bitcoin touched $118k but retraced to $112k , now at $114k. This shows uncertainty on price direction and ready to breakout to whatever direction  We also need to remember we are approaching the last quarter of the year, weak hodlers may decide to take profit and we understand what that means.

Bitcoin market is tough and cryptocurrency market is tougher with many people while the minority of market participants see it easy and comfortable to be in and get profit with time.

Why are there different people who have different views about the same market?
It's because of their different approaches in this market.

If you see danger of altcoins, and say no with them, only spend your money for Bitcoin, especially for Bitcoin investment, you will not lose money here too easily while having so good and easy chance of getting profit.

Oppositely, if the other people are trading, especially trading altcoins, and try to identify bear trap or bull trap, you know they will be trapped by market makers after all. Eventually they stuck in traps and lose money but you can choose a first approach and avoid bad ending like them.

Thats normal in my opinion. There will come a time that people got confuse on the market direction or even veiwing the public sentiment on potential upside or downside. Right now, the market is volatile its moving up and down frequently even with altcoins itself. But we can see more one sided movement based on trading confirmation too.

If you are an experience trader, then you should already be familiar with moves like that in the market and when the market is not giving you a clean direction towards your prediction, you don't have to take trades, all you need is to stay calm and wait patiently because trading is also all about being patient until you see a green light to take trades before going into it. Good risk management requires your patience because if you can not wait for the right time to buy or sell, then you are not good in risk management and you face losses.

It's also the season where the market keeps hunting for liquidity from the futures and perpetual market!
I've seen countless of people who thought bitcoin about to go down only to get their opinion wrong, sudden price rally few days later and they are in negative PnL on many of their trades.

Absolutely this is not a good one for Bitcoin and moreso it's a medium to take a break from all of this ups and down and  this tough times for crypto community is meant to occur but will definitely pass away in due time. And thus it requires patience and time cause the market's is experiencing some unstable state, so definitely there'll be change.

Looks like you started trading Bitcoin and other cryptos in 2025 which is OK, but my point is you haven't even seen anything worse than that yet 
Maybe it may never come since the institutional players are on board, but back in the day, a day like yesterday would have had traders speaking in tongues with their blown up accounts, especially the futures folks.

At one point you are having a 30% drop in Bitcoin price and then a few hours later you are seeing a 15%-20% rise/bounce back. Completely crazy!

How long have you been in the crypto game, it seems you are new. I don't see anything strange in the price movement of Bitcoin for a long time, it fluctuates at a normal rate and there is nothing wrong with it.

The bull season had already been at the corner for long time, infact, altcoin like eth and bnb had their last ATH few days ago, Bitcoin been repeatedly doing it and it's normal now, so what's the confusion here, the bull time is here.

You are right, what is happening in the market right now isn’t something new. The market can be unpredictable, and that’s actually we are seeing right now. The best suitable approach? Take a break, otherwise you are putting your trades at a loss, because there won’t be a successful trade if the market alone is not in a stable condition.

For now, it’s better not to trade to avoid future losses, but you can be still consistent with DCA, or just keep hodling your coins, they would be safer that way.

yea bro!! it has been total chaos lately in the crypto market just bull traps & bear traps all in one session! honestly it is more than enough to shake out both bulls and bears without any pity.. I thnk the best strategy right now is to just keep cool head and not to fall for the hypes.... As of today Bitcoin is at about $114,820 & Ethereum sits around $4,776.. this prices just reflect how volatile things have been lately if one is not extra careful!! false break and you ae completely already underwater....the swings have been very brutal like no mercy for the hustlers and both bulls and bears are getting caught in traps like back 2 back. It kind of shows how unpredictable this crypto market can be. Like one sweet minute it looks like we are breaking out into a good rally and the next  minute boom everything flips backward and wipes out everyone who went in with heavy hand...  but that’s why patience and discipline matter so much here truely because FOMO and panic trading are the fastest ways to lose the little you have.

so as usual if you jumped in thinking it was a clean breakout mehn!! chances are you will just get trapped... I think it is just a smart move to slow down, avoid emotional decisions and treat the game like chess not roulette because in times like this, protecting your capital is just as important as chasing fast and quick gains.

Invest your money into something is always tough decision as it is risky and you can lose your money. In a same market, during a same period, the market is risky with some people while it is advantageous with the other people.

Viewing it as danger or chance all depends on your readiness from knowledge, skills to financial and investment capital preparation as well prepared or bad prepared. It is also up to your risk management for your finance and investment capital and investment portfolio.

If you prepare those things well enough, you can see a bear trap with many other people as great opportunity the market gives you.

Market is always uncertain and predict the market movements is very difficult. We can not know the market ATH for this market cycle and when it will happen, but we can know that if we can DCA Bitcoin over a long time, hold our bitcoin a long time, we will have so good chance of getting profit. It's what we know and realistically what we can do easily, even more easily than predict market ATH and time the market.

So why don't get rid of fear and just focus on preparing our finance and investment for DCA bitcoin.

Simplifying it, I would say.
If you can DCA Bitcoin, you can accumulate bitcoin with time.
If you can hold your bitcoin with time, a longer time you hold it, a less risk of loss and a higher chance of profit for your investment portfolio.

First I'll admit that traders are always terrifying about the price of bitcoin due to short time target, so I don't think what the volatilities we're experiencing now is a new one for the volatile market.  But I'm not going to pretend, the market has been showing too much of uncertainty which I'll agree with you that it really feels crazy for traders. It's really become tough to tell what direction the market is heading to and while it might show some kind of uptrends, down trends turns the direction and vice versa as the market is abruptly on the Dip and the Rebound phases.

Not really. A lot of traders are still catching up with good trading strategies to be profitable with good risk managements.
Remember to take break when you're not familiar with the market if you haven't been able to make good decisions after awhile.

We have seen such times quite many times in crypto. The bull and bear traps have been there from a long time.
It's just that we have to be cautious and keep monitoring the market and try to get a better entry and exit price.
Also, if we are already holding then it's the best to just keep holding the coin if we really believe in it.
