If banks accept Bitcoin deposits in the future, it will be the most problematic for customers. When you deposit Bitcoin in the bank, you cannot withdraw it at any time, but you will have to pay additional fees. Moreover, you will not have privacy and protection, you can be easily tagged, so I think Bitcoin transactions are still the best.
If you transact Bitcoin now, it will cost less and it will protect your privacy, you can make a lot of transactions in a short time, which will not be easy in the bank. So I think it is easiest to transact from a wallet, but if you deposit Bitcoin in a bank and then transact from there, it will be difficult for everyone. However, we have seen that before, Bitcoin deposits were kept in banks, El Salvador was the first country to legally recognize Bitcoin and there are various transactions made by Bitcoin.

You look to be confused about how banks might handle Bitcoin deposits. Banks would have to offer easy withdrawals and low fees to compete with personal Bitcoin wallets just like with regular bank accounts. But bank would link your identity to your account for security reasons your Bitcoin transactions would still be private on public network with only bank knowing who you are.

And also banks are built to handle huge number of transactions quickly so it would not be harder or slower than using your own wallet. So using bank for Bitcoin would give you safety and convenience of regulated institution but you would give up total control and privacy you get from personal wallet. And this will be personal choice if anyone wants to do this.

Exactly, if banks accept bitcoin deposits and if we use their services, the only challenge we face is privacy and not having full control over our bitcoins. Banks are the leading financial institutions and they have the most advanced resources, infrastructure and technology. There will be no problem like high transaction fees or transaction restrictions. Moreover, banks are not stupid enough to restrict these as it only costs them customers and revenue, rather than bringing any benefits.

If banks accept bitcoin deposits, they will also function like centralized exchanges and be even safer than CEXs.

Why would you want something like this, i don't understand, do you know that BTC is a decentralized and censorship resistant currency and the best way to store it should be in your self custodial wallet. Custodial storage is not recommended, and that includes the bank, if it becomes possible. Not your keys, not your coins, we have been telling people not to store their coins in centralized exchanges and you come up with this.

Banks may do this and accept BTC in all shapes and forms, but it won't be BTC anymore, basically, because they will probably try to convert it back to fiat in their operations Wink

That is right main idea behind Bitcoin is that it is decentralized currency that you should control yourself which is why people say Not your keys not your coins. Some from us want banks to get involved with Bitcoin because it  makes it easier for everyone to use and help it become more popular. Main issue is that giving up control to bank means you risk your money being seized or censored. So main problem is about choosing between convenience and personal control.

One day banks will accept Bitcoin as medium of exchange and accept deposits from bitcoiners. As soon as the world powers accept it as medium of exchange.

Are we going to run away from centralized exchanges and then start running back to banks again? I don't see any benefits of banks doing this especially the commercial banks. Just maybe, the central banks are reserve might want to give it a shot or offer some stretch hands to institutional investors to a Bitcoin account with them since they have money worth billions of dollars, some of this commercial banks don't have upto a billion in their vaults.

The banks has always been a way for payment facilitation for crypto payments and also p2p, that's the best thing or the combo I see that is beneficial to Bitcoin and crypto. Any other developments will not end well, people Bitcoin can go missing if indeed money can go missing in banks. We haven't even thought about report cases that will arise, they will be quick to raise red flags of Bitcoin address and that's not good. Why even use Bank when your wallets does everything bank can do for you 10x better.

It all depends from the country you're, some have once allowed for this before the government changed the regulations and ban the commercial banks from using crypto, dome do allow their banks to transact cryptocurrency, which all depends on the country and the regulations that their government are setting in place over the use of crypto, if banks do not accept the use of bitcoin, then this shows more clearly that it wasn't created for them, instead the people through p2p and not a third party organization before we can make use of bitcoin for any payment or transactions.
Exactly banks have no role here and if they don't want to accept the reality they can ignore it but they will regret when their customers leave them and put their money in the BTC although that was also not the main purpose but to use it for p2p trades on a decentralized network.

But for a long time investors have been holding BTC to store their value they merely use it for p2p trades but there is still many people. Banks do appreciate the blockchain technology but they don't like the idea of BTC because it will affect their businesses and to some extent, it ready has, b but some banks came up with some good ideas like to adopt it.

The acceptance of bitcoin by Banks is not at their own discretion to decide whether to accept bitcoin or not, but how they receives directives from their authorizing government agencies in charge of the financial system, that is also why we can't afford to have our assets with banks including bitcoin, the best way we should have them is on a non custodial wallet, which if the governments are going to remain adamant in allowing banks to accept bitcoin, they are even helping us the more from being under their financial regulations with our bitcoin in banks.

Why would you go to such trouble, since you own as much Bitcoin as you invest in it. Whenever you send Bitcoin to the bank, you will immediately face additional fees and you will have to pay extra fees. And if you want to withdraw Bitcoin from the bank, then you will definitely have to pay a fee there.
Because you yourself own the Bitcoin you have invested, so I think there is no question of not transacting with the bank.

Because you yourself own the Bitcoin you have invested, so I think there is no question of not transacting with the bank.
Fee is only big concern of people who have small fund but I agree that it's nothing wrong to save even several satoshis (~ cent) if possible. Bitcoin is valuable so if we can save several satoshis for each transactions, over a long time and many transactions, we can save a considerable satoshi fortune, so let's do it.

Regarding to sending bitcoin to bank, fee would be not my concern as it is not risky to spend some extra fee for the bank service. The bigger concern is whether my bitcoin is safe in my bank account, and I know it is unsafe.

Banks are centralized and they can freeze my bank account and my bitcoin anytime. They are centralized so I don't own Bitcoin private key and I have no control on my bitcoin, bank does have control.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

One day banks will accept Bitcoin as medium of exchange and accept deposits from bitcoiners. As soon as the world powers accept it as medium of exchange.
As far as I know any bank is quite difficult to trust something that is not in physical form, meaning that the paper money they deposit from the bank to the bank can be felt by the user in physical bentic.
Bitcoin is not the case, it can be seen and cannot be touched, the bank knows it is bitcoin, but it's not so bank work, no bank in this world wants to bear the risk.

Whatever transactions you do with the bank can still be made in physical form, they do not want to exchange the wind with the wind, for example: you make a deposit with bitcoin, Then what you took after that, I mean when you need Fiat or Bitcoin later, if Bitcoin how you take it and spend it.

Dude, try to think logically, the internet, digital currencies as a means to get fiat, no more, is not logical if the horse is exchanged with a horse, surely people want to exchange horses with fiat or horses with items that have Fiat value.

One day banks will accept Bitcoin as medium of exchange and accept deposits from bitcoiners. As soon as the world powers accept it as medium of exchange.
Is this a good question? Yes, banks can certainly accept Bitcoin deposits at some point. But it will only be credited as Bitcoin or your Bitcoin will be converted to a value that will be credited to your account as Fiat according to the instant price at that time. It will depend on the banking system and government rules of that country. For example, PayPal has already added Bitcoin to their account. You can buy, sell and hold Bitcoin through a paper account. Similarly, if the local banks in the country accept Bitcoin, then you can certainly deposit Bitcoin directly there. And this may definitely happen in the future.

Banks are beginning to do more than what you mentioned. In the US, you can keep your crypto asset in the bank, and they can also sell it if you give them the permission. I guess the reason some persons do this is because they're scared of having their wallet hacked and funds stolen. But I wouldn't do this. I prefer to be my own bank.

Will you be dumb to the extent that you will deposit your Bitcoin in the hands of a bank? I've saw hell from the hands of bank in my country and I don't wish to ever go through such again, I was able to get away all thanks to Bitcoin.

It will be painful to see Bitcoin been used in a centralised manner like this when it's purpose was to stay decentralised away from centralised control, I surely won't like the idea of it happens. As for Bitcoin investors you will probably be controlled by the banks because to get your Bitcoin some day you might have to be follow whatever the banks ask of you, I am sure you won't like it.

I don't think there is a need of putting Bitcoin in a bank as a deposit. Banking systems are mostly built on fiat currencies and not decentralized currencies.  Putting a decentralized currency like Bitocin in a centralised system ruins the whole essence of it. Bitcoin was made as an alternative to the banking system not a currency that is to be put in a bank. Banks accepting Bitcoin will not be a success for it as you have framed. At most some banks partner with crypto exchanges or provide custody services but that is very different than a normal trading deposit.

You are totally missing the entire point of Bitcoin. You are trying to put a decentralized, permissionless asset back into a centralized, permissioned system that it was created to replace.

The point is to be your own bank!  Handing your Bitcoin over to a traditional bank is a huge step back.  You are trading away all of the reasons Bitcoin was created to counter, you put your Bitcoin into a bank and bring back all the problems: counter-party risk, censorship, fees...  You are turning new innovative technology back into a more glorified version of its predecessor.  Which is exactly what a traditional financial institution wants!

The core idea of Bitcoin is to enable any two independent entities to transfer cash by eliminating the middlemen. Moreover their is difference between decentralised Bitcoin and the centralised one, it's important to understand that regulatory bodies and institutes like Banks have no objection on centralised Bitcoin that flows through CEX but they have strong reservations on decentralised Bitcoin which they can't control. Their is very rear chance that Banks or other centralised institutes will ever embrace the decentralised Bitcoin.

What is the reason we would deposit our Bitcoin into a bank? The country can legalize the use of Bitcoin as an alternative tool for transactions, but they may not be able to force us to deposit Bitcoin into the bank like we do with our fiat money.
We will not have difficulty carrying all the Bitcoin we own around the world. It's a different matter when you have a considerable amount of Fiat left at home. The country can legalize Bitcoin, but we will hold it ourselves.

Only banks will know who you are is a funny line because we know how centralized systems work in democratic countries. It's not only banks that know who you are if your identity is linked with your wallet, every single government agency or government-controlled authority will know that wallet belongs to you, because they have the right to take out any information from any registered business or corporation when they need to, so it's not only banks that will know who you are when you are using them for holding your Bitcoin.

Besides all those points, I don't understand why one would use a bank for their Bitcoin anyway when Bitcoin actually provides them with complete privacy and decentralization and they will lose all of that when they decide to use a bank for it when they don't even need to. We use banks for fiat because we don't have any other option. We can't keep cash at home at all times, or use cash for large transactions sometimes, and we also need to use online transaction systems, so we use banks for that, but for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, we don't need to involve a third-party when we can manage everything ourselves.

Banks may do this and accept BTC in all shapes and forms, but it won't be BTC anymore, basically, because they will probably try to convert it back to fiat in their operations Wink
If they have BTC on their portfolio, they're free to do this. But if it's about someone who just wants to use the banking service like taking a loan and using Bitcoin as their leverage for that time, it's possible. It's absurd if we deposit it into the bank even if they offer deposit services for Bitcoin. Maybe for some loans, many will do but an actual wallet from them? I think that there will still people that gonna do that because they trust the banks. Just like how the ETFs went when investors trusting the brokers.

OP, your question presents a dichotomy, a conflict that genuinely arises for both parties—users and bankers alike. It's difficult to find a coherent logical answer because what you're asking about is both possible and impossible at the same time.
