The system of Nigeria education is getting worse daily, the pattern of classes, the lecturers schemes, students sluggishness to reading and attending classes, the value of certificates, lecturers students sex relationships and sorting courses, poor infrastructure and less concerned stigma from government, increase in tuitions fees and documents. Honestly everything is quite annoying about going to school that's why most people prefer handwork or skills than wasted years in school. But all this system wasn't like today in 1980s according to our parental history.

I think the reason is because most of the youths in our country believes that our educational system has failed us, and if you look at it very well, you will notice that there is truth in that, i mean i see no reason why a naija youth would spend years in school, make first class and good grades, only to graduate and get fucked up by the labour market. no job opportunities for the youths, even the ones wey manage see job, na peanut them go pay them, seeing all these thing, do you think youths will be enthusiastic about attending lectures or making first class? back then in the 80s as you mentioned, people who graduate with good grades often get the opportunities to do their masters abroad, where we all know that they can potentially be exposed to a much better life and opportunities, some even end up being retained there and many other things, but today, there is absolutely nothing like that, nothing to drive students to work harder and push pass their limits, they feel like the system isn't worth the effort and honestly, i dont blame for thinking that way.

the other day, i been dey scroll throgh my facebook, i come see one stuff wey them post about this young tiktoker Peller, where e been say e get job opportunity, say e dey find who go dey hold him camera for am, and the pay na... whether 400k abi 500k wey e talk, and wetin shock me pass na when this small boy talk say the person must get masters degree. plenty people been dey blast am, say e dey insult graduates and master degree holders, and them talk plenty things, but the truth of the whole matter be say, e get plenty people wey get that degree for years, wey never actually see job wey them go pay them reach that kyn amount and that is an insult to the educational systemof this count.

It is heartbreaking to see the deterioration of the education system in Nigeria today. Where education was once a matter of pride, now many people go just for certificates, that too after overcoming many obstacles. The irregularities of lecturers, the weakness of infrastructure, and the government's indifference have all made studying a burden.

Nowadays, people are leaning towards fundamental skills because they know getting a job or surviving even with a paper certificate is difficult. But, sadly, the current generation does not see even a little of the dream that our parents went to school with. If we cannot turn around from here, we may lose education from our midst.

That's because the system of the country is failing, people go to school reluctantly perhaps because they are being forced by their parents or are just doing it for the purpose of pleasing people or blend in. A lot of young people no longer think a a degree would be profitable to them in Nigeria and I cant blame them for feeling that way because with all the graduates the country has produced how many can boldly say they have jobs? There are no job opportunities for the masses, this is the reason why they no longer take education seriously. Education has lost its value in Nigeria and that's that reality of our country now.

To show that corruption Dey everywhere nor be for only politics , most time nah we Dey do ourselves. Things so hard that student are now focusing on both hustling and studies at same time which not suppose to be so , as a student you are here to learn and graduate with good grades , but due to how expensive things are now students have to find some other means to support their parent as they school and most it usually affects their grades because at that moment they will be sharing their time focusing on both studies and side hustling some even go for part time jobs working extra mile to meet ends needs . And lecturers are not encouraging at all you will hear all such of news on how lecturers keep failing student because they didn’t allow them to have their way with the so called students , and stuff this is the kind of system we found ourselves now .

The system has indeed failed us, everyone are now doing things as long as it benefits them, without actually minding the implications of those actions on the mass. Sometimes we put the blame on the government when even we the citizens are equally responsible for what is happening to every single one of us. I think one of the challenges i can really say that the Nigeria education system is lacking behind, from my own region self i could say poor infrastructure many schools in my regions here really are lacking infrastructure and some basic facilities, making it difficult for students to learn effectively. Pulse students may feel disengaged due to outdated teaching methods or lack of relevance to real world issues.

The way the education system is going on in Nigeria today, it isn't encouraging at all, form the higher institution down to the lowest class in the primary institute is no just encouraging at all, taking a look at today's news headlines, whereby the government has extended the primary school curriculum, and approve a certain number of subjects for grade by grade in the primary school, whereby primary 1-3 pupils are ment to offer 9-10 subject, while basic 4-6 student are expected to offer between 10-12 subject. Is this what the education system needs now? Adding up subject to the curriculum or we need an educational system that isn't affected by corruption. How many government schools in Nigeria are well equipped and developed today, leaving aside some private schools out of it, even the private schools that are well equipped, a child form a poor background won't be able to attend.

the thing is that standards of education has spoilt and government is not longer concentrating on education since they noticed that almost all the children is making efforts to be educated both morally and otherwise, what collapses the system of education is corruption by politicians and rich people, sometimes people who is not qualified to be in high school and universities is now pushed into high school and university through bribery and corruption, so that's what makes education to be affected, not only unemployed and employed that damages the system of education in our country

The truth is that education in the 70s and 80s are way better than education right now. Education those days is more respected than education right now, in the sense that most people that are educated in those days end up getting a good job and also better their life's, but today we have a lot BSc holders that are still struggling to get a job and it begins to make them feel that education is just a waste of time.
I can even tell you that the standard of education those days is far better than the education right now. I can remember my grandfather telling me that he did standard six, which in my opinion is the same level with a HND or BSC and he did well on life it, but believe he never got a university education,  but he achieved more than most most people that have a university degree right now. well their is no good educational structure in Nigeria, the government are not doing anything good to provide for the welfares of the lecturers and students. government only focus and lavish money on politics without looking out to higher institutions. no increment of lecturers salary, no wardrobe allowance, to housing and accommodation, no cars for lecturers or good hospitality to treat them well as for them not to misbehave. they only focus on the newly elected members from the house of assembly down to the local government, without considering the effort of this lecturers who are impacting knowledge to the student or the leaders of tomorrow. i bet if government are doing their duties properly i dont think this kind of things will happen like that. when i was in the university i know some good lecturer that became bad due to hardship. the simple truth is that since government fail to treat lecturers well, they put the anger on students, forcing them to do the unthinkable things, making them believe that money i everything. once you can pay you can sort yourself out and this reduce the rate of reading by student and makes girls to go into prostitution just to get the money and pay to graduate, they leave the life that pleases them and believe money is everything, and it Leeds to massive graduate with empty skull. it is only few that graduated without having that mentality. so government is the major cause of that in my own understanding.

Thinking that education is only meant for the purpose of getting work it is wrong. Work or no work education remains the key to success in any society. Nigerian system of education has really been affected by corruption, infact the currption is almost in all sectors. It is definitely true that the reason is because our educational system has failed us, with valid points you made mention. To add to what you said, our educational system before had discipline but now there is definitely no discipline compared to then. In our educational system before, teachers pay attentiveness to students but now they are nonchalant especially in our public schools, most of the teachers don’t go to class, they don’t care if the students are following up or not, they don’t care if they cover the curriculum or not, making students lack behind and dull.

There is actually no value for our certificate now, that’s why most persons prefer acquiring a skill that will earn them a living than going to school and at the end nothing.

School fees is increasing everyday including the public schools that were even free before for persons that could not afford going to private schools but now most people can’t afford school fees in public schools and the government is doing nothing about this. Nothing to motivate them in going to school anymore because of bad educational system.
