Working for government can as well give someone a life time opportunity due to the retirement payments that comes in after good service but you can not compare the benefits you get when you develop your business to the point of grooming it till your old age. If you establish a good business it could go along way to become not just a business you control alone but the family could be part of it and run the business when you are no more, the life of a successful business person can not be compared to a worker the difference is clear and obvious.

You would call it peanuts but mind you, you aren’t getting taxed from this money, at most, it would be affected by inflation given, you would have to buy things with this money in the current economy. Otherwise, this isn’t peanut money, especially when you were able to retire at a good level from your place of service. People have been known to settle their days with this money and position themselves for the future.

I’m not saying service jobs are much better than owning a business, surely not but, retirement benefits are no small fits too when you retire at a good level in the service.

The amount of people who know what they are talking about when they are starting a new business is very little, so that is why we end up seeing many new shops and business' end up bankrupting within the first one or two years. Like for example my dad worked in the same company for 32 years, if he decided to leave, and start his own business, he would have done a great job.

Because he did that job for 32 years, he couldn't be any worse, he would be better than most, because he knew it. He didn't want to put his retirement money at risk, and just wanted to retire and rest, which he does now, he does have a pretty sweet life, not rich, but lays around and has fun all day, retirement stuff.
