Owning a business is definitely better than earning a salary. This question depends on individual, many salary earners, are been paid well , especially those that has skill and work based on their skill, such person may not have an eye in business .

Job or business, both are good. Job will give you a certain amount of money after a certain period of time, on the other hand, business can sometimes give you very good profit, and sometimes there can be loss. But the important point is that although there is risk in business, there is also an opportunity to expect good from it. It depends on your profession and it also depends on the level of your skills. If you are a highly skilled individual, doesn't matter what your profession is, you'll never lose a job or if you lose, you'll find a better one. If you are not highly skilled but belong to professions like doctor or nurse, then you won't have a problem finding a job too. I have never seen a doctor loosing a job or looking for a job.

Yes there assignment and duty scope are different including power to make decisions regarding the business but however you have described quite well on how the two roles are supposed to be seen very equal based on some factors that could poses the problem why company owner will not earn more there employees, I really acknowledge the perspective but however with some reasons I still do believe that owners are better and earn so much higher than any employee including the manager because a business that's not producing profit doesn't employ workers or doesn't survive so actually before they pay workers they have made so much money.

These are the dream situations of an employee that doesn't have to think of inflation. This can't be done in my country and I think for the others who are also earning big.
