EU Countries will not process shipment to USA for the next week

I have just found this news in many Italian newspapers.

It seems that excluding documents, actually it could not be possible ship items from some EU countries to USA!
This announcement has been done just few hours ago and it seems will be in place for 7 days (in some countries for a couple of days).
Even private services will not manage items...  Personally I would avoid to make shipment just to not waste hours to retrieve items or at least to wait details about the updated custom fees...

I will update this thread with any news and lock once ban is lifted.

Yes they are doing everything to kill crypto...
In this specific case sadly you can't ship anything except documents or items with large custom fees/value declarations (above 800 USD).
However, in general, I will avoid in any case since I have experienced by my self how it's hard to get items once stucked in customs
Last but not least they announced to make specific and more checks only in "gift" package to avoid further abuse

Speaking for Germany; you will still be able to send more valuable packagages but are forced to buy the more expensive priority shipment.

And, customs will definitely check packages more frequently to make sure the '100$ Gift method' won't be abused.

Actually the EU ist heavily pushing forward to regulate Crypto to create a secure framework for all Investors.

Besides that, this news has nothing to do with Crypto at all - its just because of Trumps new taxes

In Italy they suspended all shipments from local postage service (the UPU service).
They can resume even early since the new tarifs have been announced one week ago on 16th Aug.

It could be possible sent items with this kind of package (both gift or non gift below 100 USD) "Poste Delivery International Express"
However there is the clause that explicitly exclude "collectibles" or "art related" mmm .... better wait few days to use the proper shipment service...
Next monday I will get info at my postal office ... but at least for now this should be something just temporary (1 week? at least for Italy - France has announced less days...)

The issue revolves around the US decree, approved on July 30, which modifies customs procedures for goods shipped to the United States that previously benefited from a duty-free allowance of up to $800. Some details on the technical procedures were only released on August 15, so while waiting to determine exactly how to proceed, European postal services have put shipments on hold . For the time being, all shipments that previously did not benefit from the duty-free allowance, those exceeding $800, "non-material correspondence" (letters and postcards), and the "Poste Delivery International Express" service, which is managed through a different logistics process, remain unaffected.

Trump is making tariffs and taxes on everything. Why is crypto being so heavily targeted by the EU? Trump is signing laws and acts in to make America a crypto powerhouse. I have noticed a difference between these nations... the EU likes to regulate quickly and take action. The US used to be slow but now makes significant strides in taking action that is pro-crypto.

@bitbollo - Just reading a bit more on this in relation to my national service. All this is a result of the new
US tax regime, its not an EU thing as far as I am reading it. I am lucky this week that our service
will continue as I have a few parcels to send!

Yes these can still be shipped if value declared in under 100$ .  
But as marked on my previous post the only service that allow to ship these items in Italy* ... doesn't accept collectibles/art item... it's intended for documents/parcels etc.

Personally I don't find it suitable for shipping crypto collectibles. Of course it can be always sent/used as service.
In some cases these could get stucked in custom border / get fined / request more paper and so on.
In private trades we don't have declaration of the item value... as I have experienced, once get stucked in custom border (at least in my country) this is likewise a problem and get back the package / sent at destination become a run full of hurdles... that requires months...
At least in Italy, shipment should start again this week. I will update with any change from previous service...

Nothing has changed from Poste Italiane or private services during this week. This block here in Italy is still in place.

There is still only one service available for shipping items. You need to add ALL personal details of senders (including fiscal data) and some private data not required before from receiver (like phone number).
This service requires a detailed description of EACH item, including value, weight, provenenance even material used.
About this point they are requesting FULL and DETAILED description... and as already reported you cant ship "art" or "collectibles" with this service...
This declaration must be completed in 6 SIX copies! and each should be hand signed. It would be refused if there is no value added.

It's ok ship documents, there are no changes in this service. No checks on this or at least has not changed how they managed this kind of delivery.

Next week I will wait for some updates at "national level" and I will try to use also private services like FedEx etc etc...
It seems anyway that new custom fees would be between 80-200 usd for any value declared...
