Even today it is very exciting that a Bitcoin course will be taught for the first time at a university located in Florida, USA, namely the University of Tampa. Perhaps students will be able to glean a wealth of knowledge about Bitcoin, its philosophy, and its economic impact from their classes.

I almost said it is irrelevant to issue or awards certificate for bitcoineers because they can not secure job employment with it since bitcoin is decentlized and best used for individual benefits and best in self custodian. So I wonder what do going to be the essence of the certificate. Although, it is highlighted that the knowledge acquired can provide fortunate carriers for individuals in the horizon of cryotherapy including Mining, technical bitcoin and crypto projects, trading in a more professional and as well investment wise.

Bitcoin should be taught in schools, homes and even a place of gathering where they exchange informations nonetheless it is still ok, many things I was taught in school I learnt more about myself. The schools curriculum are now obsolete. Everything must not be taught in schools. Teach as much people as you can about bitcoin, students don’t only learn in schools they can learn at home, in their community, on their phones and laptops. Help the Juniors around you find interest in cryptocurrency. I learnt more about money from my experience and dad’s experience. There are CEO’s of companies that studied fine art or other unrelated courses.

Was it Tampa that it's also the place to accept Bitcoin payments for taxes? or was it another state? Anyway, I think it's quite exaggerated to say about having the first bitcoin course to be taught there. Maybe as a University, it does makes sense but there have been a lot of Bitcoin courses all over the web and done by the early adopters and people who contributed a lot of it. Nonetheless, this is a good step adding it whether as a course or a subject so that learners will now have an idea of what Bitcoin is.

Excellent news, its only a matter of time before more and more universities around the
world start offering courses in "third level" education.

Bitcoin can/should actually be included as part of a financial studies programme, as part
of a technological studies programme, as its own subject and I assume as a specialist
"Masters" degree.

Yes, it might be its first bitcoin course, but it is not the first university to start it, and I am happy you acknowledged it in your post. However, it is good to see that the tertiary institutions are beginning to include a bitcoin courses in their curricula for students willing to take that part to be able to learn more about it. This is very good because it also adds value to the academic field and enabling research on how bitcoin could be able to help modify the current day economy.

Anyways, it would be nice to see the course content to know if it is upto standard and also I will be of the opinion that a well sound bitcoin oldie be the tutor because only them can be able to teach more on the subject matter as they know indepth the real reasons for which bitcoin was founded and maybe other aspect of the teachings could be from economist who would be able to talk more on how bitcoin could be integrated into the economic system of a state or nation.

I can’t really say I’m surprised by this development because I already saw it coming. In fact, in a post I made some months ago in my local board, I remember adding “Earning Through Bitcoin Knowledge” as one of my future projections for Bitcoin.

It’s really exciting to see that less than three months later, one of those projections is already turning into reality. I’m happy that universities are beginning to take Bitcoin education seriously and I just hope it won’t take too long before such opportunities reach my country as well.

I can't wait to see when Bitcoin will be taught as a course in my country's tertiary institutions. When people who have deep knowledge about it will educate others and earning from doing so.

It is time for people to do research on Bitcoin. People have now started doing a lot of research on how to proceed with Bitcoin and how to invest in Bitcoin. There was a time when people did not give much importance to Bitcoin, due to which people did not think that Bitcoin was something to worry about, but now Bitcoin has become so popular with people and the progress of Bitcoin has attracted people so much that people cannot do without researching Bitcoin. Slowly, it will be seen that Bitcoin will be legalized in all countries and some institutions will legalize Bitcoin, for example, there are now proposals to teach Bitcoin in various universities.

It is not like I am against the idea of having a special course for bitcoin in a university, but unless it is a course to teach something really serious and different from the common, I think everything you have an interest in knowing about bitcoin can be learned online and even faster than the curriculum of the university.

Anyone with an interest in bitcoin just need to be ready to read because there are resources online to help. If you are not ready to read, and still attend such a university, you may still end up gaining nothing.

A university in USA is just fitting to teach and learn about bitcoin considering how much their country is talking about it. A proper school teaching it means more people will be able to learn more about bitcoin accurately and misinformation will be battled against now.

This feels like something that should've been done much earlier. To me, it seems they are quite late with it. 12 years ago I was telling my teachers in university, who had never even heard of Bitcoin at that time, how it would fundamentally change the economy, I remember the skeptical looks they gave me. Now even the most ordinary person on the street has heard of Bitcoin. It should've made its way into textbooks long ago.

Having a structured curriculum and a qualified instructor provides a different kind of approach, especially for college students. That's unlike online courses, which are often aimed at people with only a basic understanding of Bitcoin. Either way, it' a good development that Bitcoin education is now being taught at the university level.

Oh wow this is cool, glad to hear that Tampa is embracing Bitcoin education!UT is great and downtown Tampa is awesome. It was when I was there in 2012 and it has really boomed since then! I had some cool friends from UT and partied with a lot of them. Tampa knows how to party, that's for sure! Practically grew up there

Since bitcoin is already this big, they definitely should do it, other university should also follow.

The university keep pumping AI course but ignores bitcoin, an asset that reached trillions worth, it's as big as the AI if not bigger but many university seem to just ignore it.

Yeah, we agree that it's a good development regardless of the difference that the first online courses about Bitcoin that have been published before compared to this one from the University of Tampa. What matters here is that they're giving attention to Bitcoin and it's now relevant to them.
