In another thread, I was advised to have my own testnet node if I wanted to use Bitcoin Core for experimental and learning purposes. So, I set up my own full node on Testnet4, it’s much lighter compared to the mainnet. Testnet4 size: ~7–8 GB, Mainnet size ~650+ GB and still growing. That makes testnet more useful for anyone to learn more about nodes, wallet settings and other wallet operations.

The Challenge: Getting Testnet Coins (tBTC):

Finding tBTC was harder than I thought. I tried many faucets listed in old threads, but most of them were either empty or completely offline. After some digging, I found a couple that worked for me, and I successfully got my first Testnet Bitcoins.

1. https://faucet.testnet4.dev/
2. https://coinfaucet.eu/en/btc-testnet4/
3. https://altquick.com/faucet/ [Login required]

Both of these were simple to use. Enter your testnet address = Complete the captcha = and get your tBTC

P.S. Both faucets recorded my IP, since one can claim once for every 12/24 hours. If you are concerned about privacy then use a VPN.

There are a few other faucets, but they required logins, so I decided to ignore them and only share those that don't require any login. If you come across more working faucets, feel free to share here – I’ll test and update this list.

Why? I literally told you where you can find some in your other topic:
See this post to get some testcoins.

Meh, we will probably build our Testnet faucet to be useable with no account... but we got people just banging it too with two accounts and self affiliated (double the faucet hits).

Giving 0.01 every ten minutes via blockchain gets heavy, but it should be ok.

We are probably worth having a account on as well Testnet wise... lots available.  I get that may not be what you need, but some people "want" thousands in minutes.

That's what I checked out first and I tried the sweep but ran into some error like code 4 and looked into some resources but can't seem to identify what the problem is and my next question will be about that but meanwhile, I tried some basic like sending/bump fee with the coins got from faucets.

And one coin per QR? That's overwhelming for me. Shocked

I get it, but why are some people doing that when the testnet coins have no value. Huh

I will add the link to the first post.

I recently swept 2 myself: scan the QR with a phone camera, sweep the privkey in Electrum (--testnet4) (on a desktop). I couldn't use it because it turns out the beta test I needed it for uses the old testnet. Post your address and I'll send it to you. Here's the address and privkey. Feel free to take it, I'll delete this wallet:

It's testnet. Who cares Tongue

Testnet coins should be abundant but they're not. When actually using testnet for testing, it turns out to be a lot of work to get small amounts for different coins:
But we have created BTC -> XMR and XMR -> BTC offers for you.
Please note that the amounts aren't large, as we also need testnet tokens for our internal testing.

I don't know what you did, but the coins didn't move. Someone else can still take them unless you move them to a new address.

I get it, but why are some people doing that when the testnet coins have no value. Huh

Value is a really strange thing that is almost magical.

The time and the friction adds value even if the item is worthless.

It's not possible to control value, I don't believe.  One mans trash is another mans treasure.

I was talking to a guy today who did an interview with a large exchange. They sent him a testnet for the interview, and required it to be sent back!  LoL!!!!  A multibillion-dollar company reeling back in their 10 whole testnet coins.

Feels a little like value.

We also support v3 and v4 markets paired with Bitcoin.  If it was valueless, the bid would be empty... but to date, she's always had Bitcoins in line to trade out for Testnet.  It's a weird world.

Yes, it is.

Just like how every thread created in every board is filled with pages of replies instantly but it's been days since I posted here but only 2 members noticed the thread.

Lots of those threads is probably one person with 20 accounts that is farming campaign signatures.  Possibly using AI as well.

I'd pay that no mind and stay focused.  Wall Street has hurt the general user as well and put a lot of conversations behind closed doors.  They hired *a lot* of people from the space and those folks are now quiet... unless incentivized, I fear.

Also, I wanted to mention that our faucet does IP shit too to help prevent abuse.  VPN's work fine and should be used by people with privacy in mind.

I believe we are currently the highest-paying option (every 10 minutes). Additionally, people can use the Bitcoin faucet to buy 0.015~ TBTC at a time and withdraw with a single faucet hit. (While they last, it changes day to day.)
