I do not see any problem with this.  Gambling are advertised almost everywhere, even in mainstream media.  I do not think that not allowing it during sport matches will make a difference.

The problem is that this is not just a matter of sports betting, but also a business issue, and we know that this is already common knowledge.

Gambling sites always offer very attractive sponsorship deals for any type of sport, so it is clear that with the money they provide as feedback or obligations that must be fulfilled in this case, the organizers or federations have no choice but to insert advertisements or anything else as long as the gambling sites that are used as sponsorships get a profit.

This is a business that, despite the many risks involved, is ultimately profitable. Therefore, in this case, I believe we should not only focus on the increasing number of people betting on sports, but also recognize that this is rooted in business and mutual dependency. As a result, this cannot be completely minimized unless there are strict regulations from the authorities with the necessary jurisdiction.

There should be a specific audience or target, but as i can see even the young saw gambling ads, there should be a specific target, like if the user is under age, he/she should not see any gambling ads, only the adult should see it, when it comes to tv commercials we cant do anything to set those rules, but it is better for the gambling ads to be put on a place where children are less visible that is just my opinion.

I'm one of those people who no longer likes watching TV, and it's been a while since I've watched it. I get my news, entertainment, and other things from social media, so I don't really know if there are gambling ads on TV shows like sports, like football, basketball, or other shows. But what I see on social media is that gambling ads are always present. Whether it's on Facebook, Instagram, or other platforms, I always find them, including when watching live football matches.

Its difficult to answer about this... I know this has been very bad for those who just want enjoy the sports and don't really enjoy betting, but we need to see the other side as well, because gambling has becoming so intertwined with sports in recent years that its a major revenue driver for clubs, leagues and even independent athletes (depending on the sport).

These gambling sites that overwhelm us with marketing are the ones that sponsor our teams and even broadcast many of them... you canot simply remove ads from games during matches at these days.

I think we need to find a middle ground... if its impossible to completely remove ads from sports, so we need to regulate them so they don't become as attractive, or even more so, than the sport itself and our passion for it... limiting their frequency during live games, prohibiting them from being directed at minors,and requiring those famous catchphrases like "bet responsibly" or similar whenever an ad is aired.

I'm in favor of strict regulations on gambling ads. If I'm not mistaken several countries in Europe have already restricted gambling ads during sports matches. This isn't yet applied in my country, but I certainly hope it will be in as soon as possible.

These days, sports games have grown so closely associated with betting that it has somehow become a standard that watching a game live isn't complete if you don't place a bet on the team you're rooting for. Even sportscasters talk about betting odds while giving real-time commentaries of the game.

It’s the new normal already, and we can’t do anything about it. We’ll probably see gambling ads even more frequently in the coming years than we do today. Maybe they’ll restrict some, add rules and regulations, and so on, but gambling will still be unstoppable. The industry has already grown this much. The best we can do is educate our kids while they’re young if we don’t want them following in our footsteps. That’s all we can do.

I'm fine if it was shown during sport matches since we've been always sseing those ads when there is a sports break. But I do not condone the gambling ads being put into billboards or public places where young ages might try gambling.

Those authorities just want to show that they have comcern to people that gets into gambling but in reality they don't care at all even if those gambling ads spread everywhere. After all, they get tax from gambling so it will never happen that onling gambling ads will be permanently ban.

Isn't it already normalized? Almost all of popular sports tournaments and leagues now has sports betting sites as major sponsors. Many teams are being sponsored by gambling sites. UEFA champions league has bet365 as sponsor. Premier League clubs mostly have gambling sites as sponsors. Notably stake.com for Everton, Sportsbet.io for Southampton, etc. Inter is sponsored by stake.com as well. Stake.com even hosts multiple tournaments of different sports in US, like Stake Stars and Summits Trophy for Cricket.
There are a few countries that don't take ads and sponsors from gambling sites but they are mostly poor third world countries that don't even matter in global sports economy. Saudi would be an exception that is hosting major sports events without gambling ads.

Gambling ads have been normalized. It is not a should it question. Sports lovers and every other person should adjust and get used to it. Gambling ads are everywhere and it is big business for the ad agencies who are running it. Gambling ads are on our devices, once we are connected to the internet. it is just unavoidable.

I should be regulated but by who? Why is the government so slow in doing so? Think about it, are they getting revenue from it by taxing the ad agencies who show us this ads? We can speak up too ad protect vulnerable groups from being affected by these ads. There is something I feel that we can do individually.

It is necessary to do so, in the best traditions of the regulator - to prohibit gambling advertising. As you said (and can be seen around), sports betting is becoming more and more popular, which means that additional advertising is not needed. Those who want to play will find a way to find a casino. Why should those who are not gamblers watch 3.5 marketing messages every minute? I do not like such advertising imposition.

On TV, I believe, this is easily solved - allow gambling advertising on TV screens only at a late time, for example, after 12 p.m. So that children and immature minds, God forbid, do not see it. Although this is a weak solution, since now all people's main attention is on the Internet.

Your title is somewhat misleading. I thought that it's all about gambling that is very promoted.

But from what I understand it's all about the sports of hockey. Although it subtle involved gambling itself, but I don't think it's a direct promotion of gambling or sports betting. So I don't see any problems with this. It is a sports games after all and of the one biggest in North America.

The government can make ads telling about the risks and dangers of gambling. But we admit that young and vulnerable people can engage with this known and become addicted to gambling. In fact, I believe advertising on television should be limited, not just on social media. From my observations, children rarely watch sports because they're more interested in animated films and superheroes. Furthermore, because each region has a different time zone, and sports broadcasts like soccer are broadcast at night, when children are already sound asleep, I have absolutely no objection to gambling ads during these events. For television advertising, I recommend that gambling ads be limited to the evening hours, just like advertisements for adult products like cigarettes and contraceptives.

Conversely, when it comes to social media, nowadays it's not just adults who use it, but also teenagers and minors. Meanwhile, ads on social media are timeless and can appear at any time.

This demonstrates that risky industries are always looking for opportunities to reach their target audience. However, the lesson from the cigarette case is, strict and comprehensive advertising or even bans have successfully limited exposure to such advertising, especially among young people. So, when we see gambling advertisements in sports, we are not just see product promotion, but also see a problem may affected to young generations. This will change the mindset of watching sports also create curiosity about gambling advertisements, which can lead to the dream of "Instead of just watching, why not try betting? Maybe I'll get lucky and win some money by betting on my favorite players". If this happens, the consequence is this person will potentially become addicted.

Well, most teams actually play with uniforms full of ads anyway. And the pitch also has ads in some sports, plus the TV shows ads in between the game, and sometimes on the game itself...

Having ads about gambling is pretty much the same as those in my mind. It might even be better, because it's relevant to many people watching it, not like most other ads that are about things you will buy after the game.

Gambling promotion is illegal in my country, but there was this fantasy sports (was, because recently it's been banned) — which was pretty much same as gambling if you ask me and it's ads were rampant during match breaks.

It was very much normal, I didn't mind it at all, and I must add, the ads were really creative at times (mostly from dream11).

Airing advertisements during sports games especially the big ones can seem like an encouragement from the government for individuals to gamble more, And since these games are sometimes also viewed by underage individuals and even people who are battling with gambling and trying for a way to stop, this sort of advertisement may not help them as to the underage may be an influence And then to those battling gambling maybe become a trigger.

These advertisements should be at times that are separate from when a sports game is going on, and of course they should be vetted and heavily regulated by the government to ensure they are not over stimulating people to become addicts.
