One of the key point was that before deciding to invest on cryptocurrency, it’s important to seek professional investment advice and take time to understand how the market works for the fact that crypto is volatile and considering the fact that cryptocurrency can be confusing from the early time.


Went through some post post here and had to also add this, I understand that higher- ranked members might already know this I just posted but not every member does. Remember every expect was once a beginner, and so sometimes the most basic advice can save someone from a costly mistake. Let’s allow new members the space to learn and settle in.

You nailed it! Everyone should seek guidance and dedicate themselves to research before investing, not just in crypto, but in anything involving finance. Haste is the main trigger for mistakes in crypto or any other investment.

Once you invest money in something wrong, regret it, and want to correct it, the cost is much higher, and you'll usually start losing money right away.

As for Bitcoin, it's a fact that blockchain, volatility, wallets, fees, and regulatory risks are just some of the issues that confuse many people, and there are many others for those who want to delve deeper into crypto investments. I myself started out just accumulating Bitcoin from faucets and keeping it in my wallet. It was only later that I ventured into buying and trading.

I just want to add one thing about seeking professional help. I think many traditional financial advisors don't even understand crypto or are still very prejudiced against it. I think the best help and insight you can find is from the community itself, in forums like this one, for example.

While seeking professional investment advice is highly commendable, they may not be affordable. Aside affordability, some professional financial advisors may be antibitcoin and strongly advice you against it and some others may out of fear and their lack of understanding about bitcoin and crypto currency give you a fear- backed investment advice instead of a fact-filled investment advice.

Other souurces where one can also get a very good investment advice if they cannot afford a professional is on forums like this, also listening and reading the stories of others who failed as well as reading books.

Good one Buddy. It's also good that you've identified Coursera as one of your foundational learning platforms. What I can tell you is that in Coursera you are going to learn more about the fundamentals and the technical terms and understanding some basic setups when it comes to investments or trading of bitcoin but most of the information you will be filled with by Coursera, consider them as your first learning rope but don't get excited yet because just learning from Coursera alone doesn't make you a trader nor investor, it only gives you the fundamental knowledge guide on the basics. Now if you are ready to learn how to invest trade or grow your portfolio, you will need to go into the practical aspect of it and thank God you're here now. You can learn from the powerful discussions led here and ask questions to get hands-on responses like you will do if you're a programmer with stackoverflow.

I’m just sharing some challenges I encountered so that new members don’t feel confused when they face the same. Trading is confusing if you don’t get to know the basis. You were once a beginner, your response is uncalled for.

For me, the most valuable have come from actually interacting with the ecosystem ( I mean getting involved in different parts of crypto beyond just studying theory) . Setting up non- custodial wallets, experimenting with testnest or even studying how blockchain projects solves real problems.

Like you said, this forum is one of the best places to gain that hands-on exposure. The discussion here give the real life world perspective that courses can’t really cover. Sometimes I take my time to read threads, incredibly and articulated threads is all I see.

I don't care what you did and other newbies did but if the things done leads to awareness of super high risk of altcoins, and great opportunity of Bitcoin, then a decision of invest in only Bitcoin, that's good.

Otherwise, if decision is invest in altcoins only or mostly in altcoins, that's terrible. As mentioned, altcoins are super risky and you will lose your money with altcoins.

With Bitcoin, if you invest money in it, store it properly (and surely have multiple usable backups, test and know how to recover wallets from wallet backups), as well as are able to hold it for several years, you will get profit. That's like a profit guarantee from Bitcoin for long term Bitcoin investors and holders.

I tell you for free that you don't need any crypto financial adviser to invest in cryptocurrency. All you need is to stay around here, engage in conversations and you will understand how bitcoin works and use the best possible method to start investing.

many new people rush into crypto thinking it is an easy way to make money all because of the fake testimonies they might have come across on social media done by fake crypto mentors!! but the truth is it is not that simple at all. the market can be very risky!!! prices move fast and for someone new it can feel confusing and way scary in some way... that is why it is important to slow down as someone new to the game and take some time to actually understand how things work and not be afraid to ask questions or seek advice from people with more experience in the market. by doing that it can save you from making mistakes that could cost a lot in the long run unless you don't have plans to stay in the market for long. and the honest truth is every expert started as a beginner. Nobody wakes up knowing everything about crypto or investing so people learn step by step.. so even the simplest advice from an expert can make a huge difference.

We have hard this kind of discussion before now amnkt long ago and the question was on the importance of building knowledge before investing in any asssets this is very important, we need to emphasize on that fact because not doing that could results in regrettable steps by newbies who may jump on the wrong coin thinking that their are doing the right cryptocurrency assets buying.

Knowledge helps alot and most time, you save money when you have Knowledge on a particular assets or area of investment compared to those with zero knowledge but with capitals to investment on such assets
