Today, August 28th, Hal Finney, a very popular name in the Bitcoin world, passed away after suffering from an incurable disease. We remember him deeply and pray for the peace of his soul. He was the only person to make the first Bitcoin transaction from Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi. He is the only person who predicted when Bitcoin price was near zero that Bitcoin would go to $10 million and Bitcoin is following that prediction. But sadly we are missing Hal Finney today.

Such a shame. Hal genuinely seemed like a good guy who immediately noticed the shortcomings of Bitcoin and wanted to help make things better. I often wonder how things would be if here were still here. We’d probably have a larger blocksize limit, chains would be merge mined instead of separate. Open source forks of Bitcoin could have even been embraced as proper open source functioning of the project instead of demonized. The entire community could be living in harmony.

Who are we kidding though. Trolls would’ve attacked him with lies and tried to use him to discredit Bitcoin. So maybe everything happened just as it needed to. We can still dream though.

The first recorded Bitcoin transaction took place on January 12, 2009, just a week after the genesis block. This historic transaction involved the transfer of 10 Bitcoin from creator Satoshi Nakamoto to a computer scientist named Hal Finney.

As for Satoshi's disappearance, the man disappeared for a reason and he was more than clear about it - many people actually wanted him gone, and he just granted their wish.

This is a strong statement and very logical. But we should also consider that if Satoshi was able to sucessfully hide his identity during creation of bitcoin when he was interacting with some developers and even after bitcoin creation, it should therefore not be difficult to continue hiding the identity now that he no longer works on the network.

Another aspect is his untouched bitcoin. It is someone who have died that is likely not going to touch such amount of bitcoin for such a long time even during the bull run.

Whether Satoshi is Hal or not does not matter, at least Hal has a known identity. Both Satoshi and Hal posted here and there is some ways to know alts though.

I remember I’m still new here when I saw a thread related to Hal Finney same like this since it’s 1 year that time after his death.

I still don’t have any idea the full technicalities of Bitcoin including the person behind Bitcoin advancements. The main reason why Hal is already stuck on my mind is because of his decision to undergo cryopreservation because that time it seems this method is very advanced.

I believe that he will be back again someday when Bitcoin price will skyrocket.

Thanks for sharing. He was a die-hard follower of science and believed that dead tissues could be revived in the future when the remedy of cause of death is discovered. Some people deserve to go through this process because losing them is a great loss to humanity. May his soul and others who have departed rest in peace.

Probably, he is not Satoshi. Initially, I never thought he could be Satoshi. But the more we wait for Satoshi to appear someday, the more I feel like Hal was Satoshi. You don't have to agree with me, but please don't impose your belief on me. There are a lot of "buts" and "if". Some of us share a lot of personal things on the internet. However, we all have different identities online, and one cannot be matched with others.

For example, my Facebook or Instagram username is not God of Thunder or Learn Bitcoin. None of my Facebook friends knows whether I use the Bitcointalk forum or not. They don't know what my forum username is. If you ask my Facebook friends whether they know God of Thunder, I am sure every one of them will say "No," even though some of them know me personally. I have two different identities on two platforms. I think you know what I am trying to tell you.

This is unfortunately true, survey says that millions of people believe that the earth is flat. That's a stupid and meaningless belief, I'm more concerned about other things that these same people believe in, but that's for another topic.

I don't know why you conclude that I imposed something on you? A well-known person in the crypto community has done research that shows that Hal was in public places at the same time that Satoshi was communicating online with certain people. Unless you believe that a person can be in two places at the same time, or that Hal is a liar who deceived everyone - the conclusion is clear.

yes, they are called flat earthers, and they are everywhere. i bet some are even here on the forum.
and not just that, some of them, well, most of them also think the moon landing was fake, there is no such thing as gravity, earth is only 6,000 years old and that it has a dome stoping us from going to space, earth is the center of the universe, there are lands beyond the ice wall (antarctica), vaccines cause autism, and a lot of other stupid shit.

For HaI Finney he got a dead date and we appreciate that since we can point to the state of his existence, unlike our king Satoshi who's identity we have speculated over the years and still speculating it, if satoshi is a person or an acronyms, between we appreciate the contributions of this two great individuals to the bitcoin development.

May they continue to fine peace where ever their are right now,!
