Nowadays, Bitcoin is not just an investment asset. In my opinion, Bitcoin is more than an investment asset. Bitcoin has provided the opportunity to conduct p2p transactions for the first time without the intervention of a bank or a third party.
Currently, if those who do not have a bank account, that is, those who are outside the banking system, need to make international transactions, then Bitcoin can be the best solution to this transaction problem.
Bitcoin means that my assets are stored in my own bank.
Some notable advantages of using Bitcoin:

Bitcoin has proven him self to be not just an investment but also a best way of saving our assets,  bitcoin is a store of value, it very fast , lower transaction fees and very reliable in every transaction, bitcoin has defeated inflation, putting us in charge of our funds without the interference of a third party.

Many investors that was early enough to invest in bitcoin when it was cheaper today most of them are now financially set free especially those that went for the long term run.  What else will I need to say about bitcoin innovation, it just more than an investment but part of our daily activities.

I want you to understand that Bitcoin was not created for investment purpose, it was created as a means of payment when doing business or trades, it's due to it volatile nature people started seeing investment opportunities in it, since it's an asset that appreciate in value overtime, but right now, their are more investors in Bitcoin than those that sees it as a means of payment, because of the sole reason that it has made a lot of millionaires even till today.

So it's not just an investment, it can be used as a means of payment and I believe that in the future time to come it can also be used as collateral to borrow some fiat from the bank in the future, it's just a matter of time.

You can rarely find a Nigerian adult without a bank account, even if they aren't using it frequently they still have a bank account and as Bitcoin hasn't yet been fully adopted you may just need a bank account to make daily purchase.
I don't know if you can actually carry on without a bank account, I would definitely love to go fully into Bitcoin but we still have to be realistic. But Bitcoin isn't just an investment opportunity it has even greater value than that.

As a digital currency, Bitcoin has those features that you have outlined and other more which you didn't mention one of which is Bitcoin serving as a strategic reserve for nations.

About what I think? I want you to first take note that you can use your Bitcoin for anything you want, it depends on your needs at that moment. If you want to spend your Bitcoin in purchasing any item you need, then it's up to you to use it for any form of p2p transaction you want but that doesn't still stop your from having some more Bitcoin in your cold storage for investment.

For example, i can have 1 Bitcoin in my cold storage that am holding as an investment, while I can also have 0.08 Bitcoin in a hot wallet and maybe what I only use that one for is making payments for goods and services.  

Having Bitcoin doesn't limit you to only using one of its features, you can spend some and still hold some as your investment which is the major reason of holding Bitcoin by a lot of people.

Yes most people are buying Bitcoin as a means of holding and selling at a later time but the true worth of this is the freedom that it allows. The fact that you can move money along boundaries without a bank or limitations is something that no other system actually has to this extent. It also places financial control in the direct hands of people directly which is powerful particularly to individuals who do not have access to banks. Thus it is an investment asset, but a new money and an alternative financial system that confronts the old.

Yes Bitcoin is more than just an investment, initially started off as a just a digital currency but has now evolved into something greater and the value keeps improving for the better. The benefits have far exceeded what was expected, I’m sure even Satoshi Nakamoto will be surprised at how far and well bitcoin has done.

The fact that transactions can now be made seamlessly without intermediaries even on an international basis,  is a big improvement for us here in Nigeria, make traditional banks nodey use us shine.

When Satoshi invented bitcoin, he never referred to it as an investable asset but rather an entity that can serve as an alternative to the fiat/traditional currency. It came to be as an asset to invest in was just one of the benefits of having a Bitcoin as another currency, this was the secondary case of venturing into Bitcoin and not the primary purpose of which it was invented. The founder of Bitcoin which is Satoshi did not create Bitcoin primarily for investment but to be used as we use money but in a form that it will be peer-to-peer without a third party dictating anything in the transaction. I wouldn’t say rarely, it all depends on where you are looking or the kind of people you look at. Many people especially those way from the 80s and them no been really Dey opportune to leave for urban areas and few persons from the 90s and early 200s, those way no really get roof over their head but, fine way come urban areas to come find hustle, these guys no get time for banks o. Them no sabi that kind thing, na to hold their money for hand or do small piggy bank be there own.

We can invest our wealth through Bitcoin, we can make transactions from one country to another in a very short time, and that too with very low fees. Currently not all Adults have bank accounts. In fact if you think of it, the really senior citizens, the Octogenarians and even Nonagenarians have no need for it because they cannot operate one, then there are those who are in the deep rural areas where the closest available bank is miles away. So yes although bitcoin is not just for investment, it cannot yet carry out its other functions fully because e still get many people wey never even hear of am, or sabi invest in am, or to even use am for transaction.
