I've never personally paid for food with Bitcoin because, in my country, Indonesia, this method is still rarely used, especially by small food vendors (not international restaurants). But I'm optimistic that the system will become more widespread in the future. Technically, Bitcoin allows for much faster and more transparent transactions without intermediaries. From an economic perspective, I've also seen, especially in my region, the digital payment trend in Indonesia has grown rapidly through the proliferation of e-wallets, and this shows that people are ready to accept new payment methods. It's possible that this will happen globally in all regions. I've never paid for food with BTC, but I've paid for a lot of other things like smartphones, computers, TVs, and the like - and I have to admit that it feels good to use BTC as currency, because that's what it's meant for. Unfortunately, most of the people who invest in BTC have never bought anything or paid for a service with it, but that is still a matter of choice for each individual.

Paying for meal with Bitcoin is good experience even for small purchase. It makes you feel like you are part of new financial system. Many people get excited using crypto for daily things because it feels like using money of future.

Paying food with Bitcoin is good and that is what Satoshi already wanted, using Bitcoin to purchase things every day. People are using Bitcoin to pay for things as they adopt it. Your friend is creative thaat is why he decide to adopt Bitcoin payment on his business. Customers with fiat currency can purchase food and few other customers can paying using Bitcoin if they are willing to spend some of their Bitcoin. I have not pay with Bitcoin either but in the future I will be willing to spend some.

Nice, it seems real empowering when you pay in BTC for a meal .. the fact is you are using money you genuinely believe in. when you use Lightning there are almost no fees and it is essentially instant. It seems from your words that you are not very updated about recent on-chain transactions. Currently, the on-chain fees are very low. However, I have paid bills using the Lightning Network. As you may know, with the Lightning Network it is possible to pay small bills within a few seconds at a very minimal fee – as little as 0.000001 BTC.

This is what other countries that made bitcoin legal tender are enjoying in their various countries, but some government don't want to allow legal tender in their country for citizens to enjoy the benefit of bitcoin legal tender, I have heard many bitcoin users order food from Shoprite and pay with bitcoin without delay in transaction because bitcoin is allowed to buy any goods from the market and pay with bitcoin or fiat money and it will be accepted, they feel good whenever they have the food from the seller because there is no more questions before you can have your food you order for, but there are some villages where bitcoin will not be accept from buyers, not that bitcoin is not legal tender but they don't have idea on how to create wallet to receive or send out bitcoin.

I would be more happy to see more merchants accept Bitcoin since that means Bitcoin usage is wide spreading in my place and this is good news because we could see that Bitcoin became a useful currency.

LN? I haven't experience that, I'm still trying to learn everything with regards to LN.

But using a 3rd party? Yes, I have been using my Bitcoin to foot my bill, from internet, to water to electricity as our local wallet provider give us that opportunity as they integrate crypto wallet in their system.

I even raised using LN in our local board here as a tourist used it to buy beer in one of our tourist spot.

I believe that many people used bitcoins for something, selling it for something but feelings can be different if they sold their bitcoins many years ago for something when Bitcoin price was extremely cheaper than now. While if you sold your bitcoin two months ago, I don't see any feeling like regret about that action at all. Selling bitcoins for something two months ago don't make you lose like fortune by price changes during those months.

If you already did this you should have a proof of payment and also the store should have a sign saying Bitcoin payment is acceptable, no one is going to believe this story of yours.

Also what country are you from? Because it sounds too gullible to believe that a food store is accepting Bitcoin payment because I don't see the need, this is why I ask which country.

Business owners are finding it very hard to see customers that are willing to pay using Bitcoin but food store? It makes no sense to me, let me break it down, to buy a plate of food over here will cost me $1.2 and imagine me using $0.40 for transaction fee.

I feel so happy, every time I hear about someone experience paying with Bitcoin, because what they are doing, or what your friends are doing is exactly what I have always wanted.
