Crypto adoption in India seems to be moving fast

I’ve been following some of the recent news about crypto adoption in India, and it really feels like things are moving quickly — exchanges expanding, more people getting into Bitcoin, and generally more talk about digital assets.

For those of you in India, does it feel the same on the ground? Are more people around you actually using or talking about crypto these days?

When bitcoin hits mainstream media for its ATH or bulk buying by microstrategy or by Elon Musk etc, I have watched Indian media as well covering about bitcoin and then people around me start asking about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Right now, 30+% taxation on profits of crypto investments actually dragging backward the interest on crypto investments from new adaptors.

People need to realize that we need to pay 20% tax on short term profits from stock market then why not 30% tax on crypto profits? I mean, India is already too heavy on taxation hence crypto profits cannot be an exception.

Overall, regulation has been blocking down the adaption rate in India still I agree on a bullish year we can see more people do get into crypto space.

even my doodhwala has a 'btc' sticker on her dolu with a qr code but when i scanned it it said:

Yes, I can say that a lot of people are now talking about cryptos around me. I can also see that majority of people investing into stock like assets are also finding a way to start their investment journey with cryptos. I also saw a few boards on state highways promoting local exchanges & wallets. Also the government is showing positive response after implying taxation on crypto earnings.

I can surely say that we are fast adopting cryptos and within next few years, we will see some crypto giants coming our of India and making their way in the global economy. Really proud to be a part of the crypto evolution.

Thats huge, mind sharing which road this is? Local wallets I am still not hearing amount much, do tell me which such companies are running right now? Local exchanges are having a bad time with hacks on one side and government related problems on another side.

I just hope new people entering into crypto just make sure to invest in bitcoin and nothing else for the time being. Gradually the adoption will increase and one day I would be able to spend crypto directly and not have to buy gift cards.

Can you provide the source of this information where exactly did you read this news.
To be frank, I have not seen any growth in crypto users in India. Matter of fact the number of crypto users are declining around me.
The ones I knew are slowly losing their touch on crypto and so I am not sure if the adoption is actually increasing in India or not.
