Bitcointalk Extension - All In One - Update V3 -2025

Hello, my friends.
Many Bitcoin forum members may know about the "Bitcointalk Extension" that works with the Chrome browser in this thread:

The extension was developed by member mrvuit.


The extension had some great features for the forum, and I'd been using it for a long time. Unfortunately, the extension has become outdated and incompatible with Google Chrome. Therefore, It has been disabled and no longer works. It was also removed from the Chrome store.
The problem is that the member mrvuit who developed the extension was banned from the forum, so he ignored the extension and no longer works on updating it.

Since the extension is important to me and is open source, I decided to update it to be compatible with newer versions of Chrome.
So, with the help of the AI copilot "GPT-4.1," I upgraded the extension, making it compatible with Chrome and working well.

The main problem was that most of the older extensions were built on Manifest V2, but Google now only supports Manifest V3 in recent versions of Chrome. This required some basic modifications, including removing or modifying some features that were no longer supported in V3. For example:
"background pages" became "service workers".
Also, in V2, you could use an HTML page as a background, but in V3, you must use a "Service Worker" (a JavaScript file).
In addition, there were a few other modifications, all of which were successfully completed after a few attempts.

The last version was 2.5 so I'll call this version 3.

- Show total merit in a post (Always on)

- Enhanced Report To Moderator UI (Always on)
- Show Bitcoin & Ethereum price
- Show total merit
- Highlight your username in merit, sort your username to first
- Show icon go to top

The extension is still open source after modification and can be installed via the link:

The extension works with all browsers based on "Chromemui core" such as Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge

Unfortunately, I don't have a developer account on the Chrome Store, so I wasn't able to upload it. If a member does have an account there and can upload it, that would be great.

As I mentioned above, the extension is open source and was developed by member mrvuit. I only updated it. Any member can make any modifications they wish and update the extension so everyone can benefit.

If there are any errors, comments or suggestions for improving the extension, please post them here in the thread.

You have done a great job but I think since you started everything, it's better you finish it. What if you have new updates, bugs and some patches to make on the extension.

A developer account isn't that hard to create but you are going to need a $5 activation fee to open an account and it's one time.

Unfortunately, I tried, but this service is blocked in my country.


I'm from Syria, and although the United States has lifted the ban on Syria, some services remain blocked.
Google has lifted the ban on some services, but payment services are still unavailable. Perhaps in the near future, Google will lift the ban permanently, and I'll be able to register an account and upload the extension to the Chrome Store.

Good work on restoring dead extension, but how about people who are using Mozilla Firefox browser and similar forks?

Since you didn't create this extension yourself and you used AI copilot GPT-4.1, maybe you should ask it if conversion for Firefox browser is possible.
I think registration for Mozilla extensions is easier and you don't have to pay anything for that, unless they changed something recently.

Yes, I remember that the extension Author (before he was banned from the forum) was working on developing the extension for Firefox and similar browsers.
So I will try developing the extension to work on these browsers. If it works, I'll post updates here in the thread.

I like the menu which has many options and is really nice
I recommend, however, that you also print the smerit in a more visible place as Ace did.

We now have a small update where I've updated the ReadMe file and also placed a link to this thread in the main interface of the Extension.

I also have news about developing the add-on for Firefox. I've almost completed the work and uploaded the add-on to GitHub:

It may take a week or two for approval, and when it's approved, I'll post the link here.

Developing the add-on for Firefox was actually quite cumbersome due to the many restrictions Firefox places on add-ons, external links, and APIs for security and privacy reasons.

AI makes a lot of mistakes, so many errors occurred during editing. It took a lot of experimentation and trying to fix errors in the code, so much so that I exhausted my monthly AI package and had to use another AI, qwen.ai (which is free and very cool).
Sometimes I had to fix some code manually.

Despite all of this, AI programming tools are great and help greatly in reducing time and effort. What used to take months now takes only days.

The important thing is that the work is done, and I will post the link here soon, God willing.

Great job OP.!! I just try this extension and it's awesome. I mostly found the unique thing is that BTC and ETH price, it may helpful for further BTC price discussion. also pinned post features may helpful for those user who visit particular thread frequently. instead of bookmarking every important tab pinned post may easy to use. It’s already very handy, but I think a few extra features could make it even more useful for daily forum browsing:

Hide posts from ignored users automatically or filter threads by keywords (for example, to skip bounty threads), a small dashboard to show weekly or monthly merit stats, and highlight new merit since your last visit, also quick reply box with formatting shortcuts, collapsible long quotes..

Since it’s open source, maybe these could be modular so users enable only what they want.

Yes, as long as the Extension is open source, any user can develop it to suit their needs.
I might consider adding some new features to the Extension in the future.

Nowadays not that many people use Firefox and it often happens that some addons isn't available on this browser. Everything is all about Chrome. I  so much liked the dark background aspect of the feature settings as it reduces the direct contact to my eyes. I know people who use glasses would prefer to use this option, as they would have no need to use glasses when using the extension features to access the platform.

Would it be nice if you also include more features that would help detect banned accounts? accounts flagged, inactive accounts showing right on the thread profile option, so that one would know the status of accounts as they peruse the pages of threads and posts.

I have used dark feature with 3rd party plugin/methods before! But none of them were pleasant at first. Tbh, everything looked weird, and I always reverted back after some days. I guess we all are used to the classic white theme! Use the night mode instead, it also reduces the stress to the eyes by a lot!

No, the extension doesn't include anything about emojis, and I honestly don't know if there are any hidden emojis in the forum.

Usually, when I want to use emojis that aren't available in the forum, I use a funny trick: copy the emoji from any app like WhatsApp or Telegram and paste it as text. When writing a message on WhatsApp, for example, click on the emoji you want, then copy it from the message box (before sending). Then, paste it into the forum text box when writing any post. Try it; it works well.

I have checked the link you have provided, and I was able to read some article, but the link on the thread with respect to the extension is no longer active, ie, it's been long deactivated. Anyway, you have done well, and I really like the innovative idea. The merit option is quite easy to comprehend, and no need to wait to load to a new page before you can access it.

Yeah it's working, and it is fully restored extension now.
I don't like installing to many extensions in my browser, but this can be useful for someone who want's to have alternative themes and tweak other settings in forum.

What source is used to show exact Bitcoin price in the right corner?
