Well, I still wish to still point out individual difference in people, while this can co-relates very well with so many gamblers, it doesn't have that same effect on other people. You can agree with me that there are so many gamblers that are not gambling for escape of stress, they are boldly gambling to obtain financial freedom through gambling and some persons too doesn't want to take any chance of being addicted so they don't neglect any symptoms. The four Es can really be effective on many gamblers because if neglected, can cause the gambling problems that we do talk about.

We all have one or two reasons to why we are gambling, and that is where the aspect of individual difference being mentioned comes in, some will do the same thing others do and regret it, while in some cases, it may be a scale through for others, we should not always compare ourselves with others, because that may be their own gambling habit and we don't know how they are faring in managing up with themselves with that, so that we don't lead ourselves into something else by trying to please, imitate or use a particular approach to gambling from what others are also using.

That's why it's important for someone to always develop the ability of doing self realization every once in a while because such character will help the person to realize when they are making a mistake or when their character has shift from being the normal way that they have been following. Like I said, the 4 Es can be effective if someone neglect it and continues playing as if their life depends on gambling.

The problem with gamblers is that they don't want to admit that they are making mistakes even when they know, they don't want to take the blame and you are right, that at times its important for one to gamble with the intentions that self awareness is not to be neglected but to be exercise at all times in gambling as it helps to sustain their habit of gambling responsibly such as to gamble within their budget and make sure they don't gamble beyond their limits.

i found a research which identified four psychological traits contributing to risk for problem gambling. these are the four Es: escape, esteem, excess and excitement.

escape: when people try to find an escape from stress and all their other problems through gambling, more problem arises and addiction happens
esteem: when people try to find their value through materialistic things and wins in gambling, addiction happens
excess: when people gamble excessively, that is when addiction happens
and excitement: people get excitement from gambling and they no longer know how to stop and that's when addiction happens

this is my understanding of the four Es. do you agree or no?

You are actually right, these four points you listed here can lead to addiction, but i will a bit emphasize on stress.
While some people gamble to reduce stress, I see it as heading to more dangerous path, because gambling under stress will make you record more losses, because at this point you your mind , and your head is not stable, and if you have some mental stress, and you are loosing your bets, the next thing that will happen is for you to begin to chase losses. When a gambler begin to chase losses, it is always leading to addiction, because the more you try to recover your money, the more losses you make.

Gambling is supposed to be flexible and anyone that thinks they can gamble and become an island of information alone will finally end up losing more money than they should have lost. Those that are flexible when gambling will be able to man ever their thoughts and decisions so that it doesn't matter affect them.

Self realization or self awareness rather is a personal feature that everyone, not just gamblers needs to possess at all times because one can't actually tell when they still lose their self to potential mistake that could lead to loses.
As a gambler, remaining self aware at all time is something that shouldn't be negotiable.

Myself have remained a disciplined and responsible gambler simply because I am always self aware of myself and what I am doing at all times, there are moment I get tested while gambling, like when I set a budget to spend on gambling, after that budget has been exhausted while I am still enjoying the game I am playing, I easily get tempted to deposit more and continue gambling at that moment, but being well aware of what I am doing and what my gambling principles are, I don't fall into such temptations, this is something I think other gamblers can emulate to enjoy gambling better.

It does not matter the game that an addicted gambler is playing but as far as a gambler becomes addicted they are no longer in control of their behaviour but instead the game controls them. An addicted gambler will never admit that they are making a mistake when they are gambling wrongly because to them they are not making a mistake but instead doing the right thing but just not getting the result that they intend to get. You advising someone that is an addicted gambler to stop gambling is going to be difficult for that person to accept your advice instead it is better they keep on losing when they gamble, it is only a therapist that can help out the gambler and make them to change from their ways, which is why for every addicted gambler it is always advisable that you seek a professional therapist.

Sounds great reading this and I wish a lot of people who gambles can have this etch into their skull as people now are doing just everything to get quick money, and this has made it appear as though gambling is just one of those avenues to cash out big on income. They no longer find it entertaining except they're making profit, hitting the wins in streaks and not losing but how can that be in an uncertain activity such as gambling. And It's this surge towards profit making in gambling that has hampered healthy gambling among the gambling population.
Yes, everyone is interested in money and most of us are looking for ways to get money quickly and gambling is one of the most chosen even though it is actually a wrong decision.

In this article, we're going to take a look at some of the best ways to make sure that you're getting the most out of your money.

There are some people who claim that it is easy to get a win but that is nothing more than a happy reaction when getting a win so in reality getting a win is difficult.

Looking at the topic of gambling addiction, I have more often heard that it affects precisely those people who have a genetic inheritance, I mean, when the inheritance passes into gambling parents to children and they also become very gambling. And also, the creation of gambling addiction in a person is always facilitated by the immeasurable blind perseverance that people who either persistently play sports usually have. Or they love watching sports on their own and making predictions. In general, those who have competitive traits in their character.

i found a research which identified four psychological traits contributing to risk for problem gambling. these are the four Es: escape, esteem, excess and excitement.

escape: when people try to find an escape from stress and all their other problems through gambling, more problem arises and addiction happens
Are you trying to tell me that everyone who uses gambling as means of easing themselves from work stress and spending time with friends by gambling in the casinos are all going to be addicted? Sometimes you guys paint gambling as a death sentence and makes it look scary and it's not good. And it's possible most of the people that talks more about gambling addiction don't gamble that much, because if they do, they will understand that addiction don't just happen unless you give room to it before it happens to you.

If I was never scared of gambling right from the beginning I wouldn't have fallen into the category of responsible gambler, my father have warned me several times about gambling before he passed, and that's because of his own brothers who turned into addicted gambler and they were unable to fix their lives.

Gambling turned them into something they are not, they can't even make a decision right without considering gambling later, they became too focused on gambling like their lives depends on it, and they got older while doing it without having anything to show that this is what they make out of gambling.

Gambling should be scary for some people to have a safety strategy in place before they start to gamble, it could help as it does for me.

Like with any other addiction, if gambling is your only escape valve, then you are in trouble. People shouldn't gamble because they are stressed, sad, or suicidal. I don't see how it could help. This is especially true if you overdo it and gamble excessively.

Excitement is the only of the four Es I don't agree with. Gambling is an entertainment business. If you aren't drawn and excited by this particular type of entertainment, then why participate in the first place? You watch movies because you like it. You listen to music because you like it. It's entertaining. If you hated music and couldn't stand listening to any genre, then you wouldn't do it. You can still feel excitement when gambling but play moderately and know when it's enough.

The four "E"s you mentioned can be the cause of gambling addiction, but the most addictive of the four "E"s is "Excess". A person who can gamble within his limits will not be addicted most of the time. But in most cases, gambling, which starts from entertainment, becomes the purpose of recovering losses. And then he cannot set his own limits. And he keeps increasing the amount to play again and again.

In addition, "Excitement" can also be a big reason. The uncertainty of gambling, sudden wins or small losses, these things create a kind of excitement in our brain. And then it is seen that we play again and again for the feeling of excitement, rather than for the feeling of money.

Gambling is a bad and highly dangerous step to desperately resolve emotional issues, and will not help but deteriorate your mental state. Entertainment need not bring about financial anxiety but ecstasy. Although the enticement of gambling is admittedly one that will not be able to be overlooked, there are definite lines that should be drawn to avoid this activity becoming an addiction, which may destroy your future as well as your happiness.

i found a research which identified four psychological traits contributing to risk for problem gambling. these are the four Es: escape, esteem, excess and excitement.

escape: when people try to find an escape from stress and all their other problems through gambling, more problem arises and addiction happens
esteem: when people try to find their value through materialistic things and wins in gambling, addiction happens
excess: when people gamble excessively, that is when addiction happens
and excitement: people get excitement from gambling and they no longer know how to stop and that's when addiction happens

this is my understanding of the four Es. do you agree or no?

I agree with the four Es of gambling because most people finds it as a game that relief them after a stressful day at work and they see it as a means to unwind and escape from more problems that would have led to depression, people can't find their values through materialistic things and winnings because gambling is not a career or a job that people should depend on to make wealth, it's just a game you can derive fun and entertainment from.

Excessiveness of anything is bad and once you get addicted to gambling without self control you might automatically go bankrupt so it's cautious to be in a safer side by having a budget and be on a bankroll Management, I think excitement comes from the place of winning you can't get excited when you are not winning and it makes a gambler to gamble more because he believes he will win since he has been winning, so i believe in the four Es but no one should allow himself to bet "EXCESS"  without control as it leads to gambling addiction.

Gambling as an escape or a coping mechanism leads to disaster, I remember a story came across on the forum of a gambler that lost a lot of money because he gambled when he was grieving over the death of loved one, the only thing he could think of was to gamble to escape the emotional Trauma that he was experiencing only for him to end up getting into a more messed up situation.

It's only those addicted gamblers that have a lack of discipline in their gambling pattern that do shove off from admitting when they're doing it wrong as they gamble. They feel if they admit about how they're gambling to be wrong then people would think they've lost control. A thing which is obvious for we all to see and know when a gambler has lost it whether or not they admit. I think admitting it is just a good step towards self evaluation to help stop from falling deeper towards the wrong gambling behaviour.

You can still be disciplined and be addicted to gambling. I think addiction only comes when you give it a chance gambling everytime when you are supposed to be busy with other activities that will take your time and make you money.
There are people that are gambling in the wrong way and this is because they don't know how to do it effectively without getting any addiction.
