🟠

A place where anyone can easily learn bitcoin properly, utilizing a simple and easy-to-remember URL as a strong starting point.

Easy to bring up in verbal conversation for the everyday man, woman, or child.

The prime objective of this website/platform is to provide a comfortable and non-daunting introduction of bitcoin into one's life. The right way.

Not to be confused with a "step-by-step" tutorial. Learning bitcoin in such a way is nigh impossible, due to intracacies revolving around different trains of thought, ideologies, placement of trust in the current ecosystem, etc:

-Core vs. Knots
-Spectrum of self-custody security measures vs. personal technical scope of knowledge
-Keeping bitcoin in an online wallet or a hardware wallet
-Trading vs holding long term
-Altcoins

That's kind of the first lesson, ironically.

Self-custody of value is a massive responsibility. 99% of human beings that are currently aware of what bitcoin is, or participate in using bitcoin/cryptocurrencies go about it in the wrong way.

To start, I just want to know your thoughts about what you would do if someone approached you in real life and asked you to teach them bitcoin.

Assume they only know the word "bitcoin", and absolutely nothing further.

-Where would you direct them?
-What questions in return would you ask them?

Me personally? I like to tell people that 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin, with only 21,000,000 to ever exist. It usually gets the gears turning in their head and opens up great teachable moments/fruitful topics of conversation.

The feedback/discussion would be a great place to start helping my website's...identity crisis you could say. This isn't an overnight project. I just have the domain right now.

If you had asked me these questions a decade ago, my answers would've been completely different from what I'm about to say... The very first question I would've asked them is what's the main reason behind their sudden interest? Is it about the potential gains [like most newcomers these days] or are they genuinely interested in knowing what it is and how it works?
- If the former is the case, I'd just direct them to platforms that mainly focus on those outcomes and if the latter one is the case, apart from pointing them to educational platforms, I'll try my best to break down the difficult bits into simpler ones (unfortunately, it's easier said than done).

It depends on what kind of information you're going to be posting on the site.

If it's going to be multimedia-heavy then it will probably turn out to be a good learning resource, as humans are learning-oriented.

But if it's just text and it's written in a neutral point of view, it might be better to stick it into the Bitcoin Wiki. I can help facilitate that for you if you want.

I love this mission!

My "first 15 minutes with a total newbie" playbook would be something like:
Explain keys vs. coins: "You don't own bitcoin, you own a secret (seed). Lose secret = poof."
Do a $5 worth of sats demo on a clean phone wallet. Write the 12 words on paper, restore on a second device, then delete the first. (Nothing sticks like a restore test.)
Two habits: no screenshots of seeds; and the 3-2-1 backup (3 copies, 2 media, 1 offline).
Fees happen, prices wiggle; 21M cap doesn't.

Personally i would not bring "Core vs. Knots" topic on first lesson.
