Clipboard malware and offline hardware wallet doesn't sit right with me, I would say we all have the right to choose what is best for us, I don't process a transaction copying and pasting anything, my keystone wallet for example is all about scanning so no room for clipboard. There are airgapped hardware wallets which QR code and camera are used for transferring PSBT and SBT, but this should not be a reason people should not be warned of clipboard malware because there are other hardware wallets like Trezor. Splitting your assets is not a bad idea but then to every opportunity there is also a disadvantage, saving and handling one wallet seed phrase can be a problem left alone having more seed phrase. It then requires you to be extra conscious on the security of your wallets most persons did likewise and that is also one of the reason we have several abandoned wallet because they couldn't trace their way back to the seed phrase. Probably it got damaged due to natural disasters or due to their carelessness.  But had it been they were extra security conscious I believe  non of such would have happened so it still fall back to us to make the best choices that there is.

It's not as if the casino doesn't have access to the wallet's private key, which they can use to get back the money, but the thing is they consider it as an extra stress that will require a manual process, as that's not how their automatic deposit is set to work, and if they try to do it for a customer who makes such a mistake, every other customer will continue to request such. They all know what they are doing, and I will boredly say it's just their pattern to indirectly steal from customers for making a mistake.

Anti virus works though, there are some hidden virus that will come to your laptop which your window defenders or whatever software you are using might not be able to defend and protect your device. However, good anti virus are not the free version, premium Anti virus works very well for your computer and it protest you against malware that are hidden on your laptop.
