[ANN] Parallax | Ethash Proof-of-Work | Bitcoin-Inspired EVM Chain | Mainnet Launch – October 28, 2025
Parallax is a new Proof-of-Work blockchain protocol designed to merge the security model of Bitcoin with the programmability of the EVM.
The network is launching its mainnet on October 28, 2025, and invites miners, node operators, and developers to participate from genesis.
Overview- Consensus: Ethash Proof-of-Work (GPU-friendly)
- Block Interval: ~10 minutes
- Monetary Policy: Bitcoin-style halving, maximum supply of 21,000,000 Laxes
- Emission Schedule: Transparent and deterministic, modeled after Bitcoin’s supply curve
- Compatibility: Fully EVM-compatible, enabling deployment of existing Ethereum tooling and applications
Mining- Algorithm: Ethash (with Parallax-specific parameters)
- Hardware: Existing GPU rigs compatible with other Ethash networks will be able to mine PRLX at launch
- Objective: Ensure a fair launch with no premine, no ICO, and no privileged allocations
- Security: Early mining participation is critical to decentralization and resistance against hash-rate shocks from other networks
Open-Source Development Parallax is developed transparently, with all codebases and documentation publicly accessible. The project explicitly rejects closed-source governance models and is committed to community-driven growth.
Participation- Miners: Secure the network from block one and receive PRLX block rewards
- Node Operators: Run validators, bootnodes, and contribute to the health of the peer-to-peer network
- Developers: Deploy applications, audit code, and expand the Parallax ecosystem
- Community: Contribute to discussions, translations, and outreach initiatives

Parallax is designed as a
fair-launch, permissionless, and open-source network. By combining Bitcoin’s emission philosophy with an EVM execution layer, it aims to provide a secure, predictable, and extensible foundation for decentralized applications.
Mainnet will be live on October 28, 2025. Early participants are invited to verify the code, run infrastructure, and mine from genesis.
