Greetings,

As the title suggests, I'll be making some occasional donations to the best posters.

Warning! If I ask you for an address, please don't merit that post. It's obvious I don't do merit trading, but we have to be perfectly safe and follow the forum's rules!

Reasons:
1. I feel the necessity to donate some of my funds back to the community.
2. There are users who should be rewarded for their effort in writing constructive posts.
3. Merit should be enough, but I feel like I want to give some BTC in the form of tips to the best posters.

Assumptions/Disclaimers:
1. I'm doing this in public sunshine, so that there is transparency. It will also help me with my tax agency.
2. No schedule, no obligation from my part.
3. I may award the same user more than once.
4. The size of the donation will vary.
5. My decisions concerning the users who I donate to, are totally unbiased.

How it works:
I will be posting occasionally in this thread, asking for the desired receiving address of the person who I want to donate to. Obviously this person can deny the donation. The address can be sent here or by DM, but I'll post the transaction in the history log.

Rules:
- self-moderated topic against spamming.
- anyone who DMs me or sends here asking for donations will be ignored and the message will be deleted.
- chat is allowed, but again, remember it's self-moderated.

Op since you want to give back to the community, you can visit Indonesia Board because I saw in a local television news that Indonesia was flooded and many dead were found. It will be a good help for them for those who have been displaced from their resident.

Thank you Agbe. Well indeed this is a serious issue, and I'll donate there whenever I can. This thread though is explicit for bitcointalk best posters. It doesn't mean I won't donate to the Indonesian board, just that it won't be part of this donation thread.

You obviously missed the objective of his donation. He wants to donate towards the promotin of good posts in the community not towards any disaster reliefs current or past. Understanding the context is importnt. Those interested in reliefs for ntural disasters should open their own philantropy posts.

This is a good initiative, and I will commend you for this singular act of yours because it stands as a sign of encouragement to those who will be lucky to receive your donations for their posts and inputs in educating members on this platform.  It will also further boost more quality posting by members who do not really care about putting effort into doing research and findings before commenting.

Inasmuch as you have set up this donation thread, how will you choose those worthy to receive your donations? What criteria are you looking at, and would you list the winners of your donation here? Will it be weekly or a monthly basis? Will it be possible or convenient for you to mention the amount you want to donate to the posters who will receive the donation?

I think all of your questions are covered in the OP:

1. The amount will vary.
2. There is no schedule and no obligation on my part.

As far as the criteria are concerned, there's none, meaning that there's no algorithm to get you selected for a donation.

The point is exactly this! That I'll observe the threads (like I always do) and I'll be rewarding the best posters.

This kind of idea has never been thought of before, and it's not just about giving appreciation to the best posters just on merit,
but giving a tip that can be useful for those who are selected regardless of the nominality.

Maybe this will encourage people to care about their posts and develop a really useful thread.

That's exactly what I wanted. I wanted to donate some of my funds back to users who I think are truly good for the community. I could do it silently, but especially for taxation in my country, this method that I chose is better.

All these users you've mentioned are valuable assets of this forum, just like their projects! I don't forget that!

This is a great initiative, although signature campaigns are a great way to encourage good posts. Be careful that donations don't compromise your livelihood  or your individual income. Perhaps it's a good idea to create a multisig fund for other members to help you with this.

This shows that you have strong values ​​and that our community is very united. These are things that give me more hope in humanity.

Anyway, I'm happy with your initiative. There are certainly some excellent members without a form of incentive, such as signature campaigns, and they could directly benefit from this decision.

I will be observing as many threads as I can. It’s very difficult to watch absolutely everything though. To be honest I will not really change my habits, which means that I will do what I do daily (Bitcoin related stuff has always been my favorite).
Don’t be discouraged though! If you are a good poster, some day I will hopefully find you! (This “you” goes to every forum member!)

it's better if you just focus on making constructive post as you might be the next one who will get a donation from OP. That way there's a chance that your chances might get higher.

Many people make donations on forum like donating their time, knowledge, sharing their experience and so on.
Or much better, in collectibles is very common to see people donating items to other collectors (someone has made over 600 donations!)
First time I am seeing btc donation on forum to be honest but I think this is a kind gesture to other user.

I have been in this forum for 2.5 years! It’s like a digital home to me. I became a legendary without trying a lot; I have just been myself, writing about my passion (Bitcoin). I have had good and bad times but I am very happy to be here!

I have been paid some money simply for loving Bitcoin. And I wanna share some of this money with people who share the same passion with me.

Wow impressive journey! This is a great community where much history took place.
Now we have a great living place with hundreds of precious information.
Being able to get new users of a certain level isn't easy. this is not the best way for communication but we don't care and love forums

The question about the specific boards, has been answered, there is no requirement.

For the violations, I've thought about it and I also examined the rules thoroughly. The only thing that's certainly forbidden is to get merits for my donations, which is something I've warned the users about in the OP and I'll also be warning in the relevant donations posts.
