Scammers are hosting sites on site.google.com and from there, they promote the website to Google ads directly sponsored. When you search for the website on google, the sponsored ads comes before the real website.

Here is one example, I searched for Uniswap on Google and I was shown this below.

Google is broken and they have allowed phishing sites to appear on top of their search results very easily. This big problem has been reported, warned many times and in cryptocurrency market, if you need anything, you can try by searching with following sites, and forget about Google.

Don't trust any single site, and you can search with some sites then compare results with each other.

Did you not know that Google does not care about their customers when it comes to making money? This has been happening on Google search since many years ago and they do not care while governments are not doing anything about it.

If I see anything like sponsor (which I know are as links), I skip it and scroll down to the official site that I want to visit.

Good recommendation, I also used Brave browser, the best solo browser I have used. I do stream football matches and I don't have any problems with the browser.

I think Google need to take some step back to check this things. I can only imagine how they are going to damage crypto if they decide to allow Google ads for cryptocurrency. They are going to be using their platform for targeted ads and it's going to be a bad reputation for crypto.

OP i think you should insert that link into the code icon, just like i have done above. So that the link it is not clickable and newbies don't click on it and land on a phishing domain.

We have been complaining about how google puts money above security for so long now, i doubt that anything is going to change. Their actions do not affect crypto nor its reputation, because people basically have to verify and do their own research in order to protect themselves. This is because you're already experienced and likely to identify scam links. Let focus on newbies that knows nothing about fake or real websites but rely on everything that Google offers them. Majority of people that use Google for search emphasised on the first suggestion and unfortunately Google put the fake site at forefront just to make money overlooking users security.

Brave browser? I use it to stream Manchester city and Manchester united match yesterday but it was completely off for me. I have used it before and it was interesting blocking unnecessary ads but to my surprise yesterday, it was filled with unnecessary ads just like other browsers. I don't know whether it requires subscription to blocked ads.

A recommendation I have for all crypto users: check the official websites through their X and Discord profiles to make sure you're interacting with the official website
A crypto user will usually know whether a website is fake or not, but problems can still occur
Once you've visited the website once and are sure it's official, it's a good idea to bookmark the site and not use Google to access it

I have already reported this phishing site that impersonates the Uniswap trademark.. It is clear that the site has now been taken down. These sites are easy to create and easy to promote and they do not cost the scammers anything.. That’s why one should be very cautious when clicking on any links in search engines, especially those promoted through Google Ads or on social media.

There are many fraudulent and impersonated domains whose domain names that look very similar to official ones, sometimes with just one letter changed, the use of a non-Latin character (homograph attacks), or a template that closely mimics the original. Therefore, you should avoid connecting your wallet to any of these sites and refrain from entering seed phrases on any of them.

After I made this post in the morning, I tried searching with my phone and it was showing this morning.



But I gave them a feedback that the website isn't safe. I'm not sure if they review my feed back but now that I check too, it's not showing again. Maybe other people has reported the website.

I think Google accommodates both real sites and scam sites. When you are in the online space, you have to keep in mind that you don't need to rely on Google to protect you from scam sites. Google is not focused on fighting scam sites on the Internet, and this is why the rate of scam sites is skyrocketing every day.

Bros @Patikno, If you frequently interact on a site, don't forget to bookmark it, it will make it easier for you to return to the sites you usually visit without having to do those time-wasting checks. That's what I usually do, it doesn't waste time & also safe.

That's a good catch mate. I have known that Google doesn't scan for phishing sites and just allows it on their search engine but didn't know about the hosting on site.google.com
This is new for me and it's shocking that its not showing the whole URL but only site.google.com
I tried searching Uniswap from my browser but I didn't get that sponsored ad. May be they have removed it now from the search results.
It's a good awareness that you are spreading and people should know about this.

This is why I always skip sponsored links. Even if the domain is correct, I still skip those sponsored links. Moreover, I use an ad blocker, due to which sponsored links do not appear in your Google search.

And thus, the most common scams through sponsored links were through the support team of Amazon or Microsoft. The scammers would arrange their links in such a way that it looked like they were really Amazon or Microsoft or Apple support links.

So i think the best approach is to always skip sponsor link..

I have also been noticing this for quite some time now, and it is obviously clear that Google does not care about looking into this matter, as all they care about is the money they get from the traffic from visitors.
What I do is to ignore the sponsored site that appears first and take the real site, which is the main website I am searching for. Many people have fallen for this as a result of their impatience and mistakes on their part to calmly look at the website they are visiting, just because it appears as the first on the page makes them think it is the right one they are dealing with.
This is all the more reason why we should take time to carefully look into sites we put in our details, because there are lots of fake sites that are waiting to steal login details, which they would use to undo or steal from their victims.

Google does not moderate scams; as long as you are not promoting or creating gambling ads, you are good.  They are only in business to make money.

It's 2025  I thought everyone had an adbroker extension on their browsers; this is common security knowledge everyone should know already.
