Which can be more addicting between the two: placing small bets every day or gambling only once or twice a year but doing so with huge amounts of money?

If you place bets every day, your brain might get too used to it even if it is just a small amount but betting less frequently but with bigger amounts of money may lead you to be emotionally attached to that money and may feel extremely happy to win and extremely disappointed to lose.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?
If I compare the addiction of a person who bets small amounts every day and a person who bets a large amount of money twice a year, then the person who bets every day is more addicted. Because when he bets small amounts regularly, it becomes his regular habit. And he becomes dependent on this excitement. Although his financial loss by betting small amounts is also small. However, this habit of his consistency traps him in the thought of betting regularly. However, if a person bets suddenly twice a year and wins, then he gets extremely excited and if he loses, he gets deeply disappointed. Although he has played twice suddenly, there is no consistency in his game, in that case, it is less likely that he will develop a long-term addiction. However, he suffers more from mental stress and depression due to losing a large amount of money. I think addiction is harmful in both short and long term.

On the hand, a person who places small bets regularly, can be the person who is fully aware of such expenses and its nothing for him. When a person who bets twice a years, can be a person who makes large bets and after feels bad if he has lost them. I think it also matter of size of a bet. If you bet a cent every day, I dont think that you will ever get addicted. If you lose a million once and lose, you might start to think how to get it back/if you win, you can think how easy it was to get it and will try to repeat it. Gambling and addiction is so individual, that no science can give a 100% probability and description of who and when will be addicted.

Honestly, I can't choose one over the other because both approaches can be addictive, especially if we're talking about the first option, where you gamble every day. Even if the amount is small, the potential for addiction is very high, meaning it will be very difficult for someone to stop.

On the other hand, what can actually be addictive isn't how you approach gambling, not the time or the amount of money you bet, but rather your goal in gambling: are you looking for money or fun? If, for example, you're looking for money, you're bound to become addicted, especially after winning, regardless of how you gamble.
If your goal is entertainment, you too can become addicted because you won't set any limits for yourself, and the game can become much more engaging than if you set limits and could simply stop when you reach them. The issue of addiction is very complex, and I don't think it depends solely on the goal or limits, because everyone is different and everyone experiences losses differently. Some may come to terms with it and forget about it, while others will try to win it back, and I think this could be one of the main reasons.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?
I think the issue of addiction mainly depends on the person's mentality. If someone bets less frequently, then these gambling issues will always be in his mind and he may become addicted to it at some point. And if someone bets a lot of money a few times a year, then the amount of money will be much higher because of which there will be a lot of greed and emotion. If he wins, he will want to win more, which will create an addiction, and if he loses, he may become addicted to gambling regularly to recover the money. However, if he can control himself then this kind of problem will not arise. However, both are dangerous, but there is a possibility of getting addicted relatively more in the  betting frequently with small amount. By doing this, he makes himself addicted to gambling without knowing it. The easiest way is to gamble for entertainment rather than becoming very rich overnight and keep your financial condition safe by keeping self-control. It should never be considered as a way of income.

Some may come to terms with it and forget about it, while others will try to win it back, and I think this could be one of the main reasons.

But in my opinion, addiction is easily developed when a series of wins or losses occurs. From an entertainment perspective, it doesn't seem to have much of a bearing on gambling addiction. When entertainment is the primary goal, it's very easy to know when to play & when to stop.

However, when a series of wins or losses is the factor, the potential for addiction is very high because there's a goal to achieve. Winning leads to the desire for more wins & losing leads to the desire to avenge those losses.

So, without realizing it, they've developed an addiction stemming from uncontrollable emotions. Whatever it is, everyone has their own principles & perspectives, but I believe it's a factor that increases the potential for addiction.

I think that betting a lot of money once or twice a year is much riskier. Just as gambling with a small amount of money several times a year will reduce the risk of money, gambling with a relatively large amount of money can create a good gambling experience for the gambler. A gambler gambling with a lot of money once or twice a year does not mean that he is gambling regularly, but his gambling strategy may be very flawed and if he gambles with this flaw, he may lose a lot of money, so I think it is right for a gambler to gamble consistently with a small amount of money.

Gambling every day is a good recipe that will lead to an individual getting addicted easily. Because I can imagine myself gambling every day whether it's with small money or not no body should gamble every day.gambling every day is not an advisable thing for anyone to do because it can lead to an individual battling with gambling related problems.

Gambling should be moderated and should be done with caution.so anything that will make an individual to gamble every day should be avoided totally. What most gamblers don't know is that it's better to use a huge amount of money in gambling occasionally than gambling daily with a small money because if you time to and sum up all the small money that one uses in gambling you will be shocked that it has amounted to alot of money.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?
Placing a bet everyday is more likely to get you addicted to gambling and that's for sure, anyone that is able to gamble only once or twice for a whole year is definitely in control of everything they do and they can never be addicted to gambling because it takes discipline and control over your emotions to gamble once or twice a year. However, gambling for profits and gambling for fun are two different things, if you gamble for fun everyday then that's not addiction but just entertainment for yourself but if you gamble for profits and you do it everyday then you are heading down to being addicted to gambling.
constantly doing or involving onerself in something is what births addiction. And as such I agree with you that indeed everyday betting can get one to be addicted and all of that.... Addiction affect one both physically and mentally and as such, be it whether one is gambling for fun or he is gambling for entertainment purposes, so as far as he is constantly involving him/herself or is depending on gambling then that individual is already an addict to gambling..

Gambling can be addicting when an individual engages in it everyday, using he/her last money in staking a bet frequently without winning, some people result to selling their properties in other to fund their accounts for betting. Addiction is a bad force and when you allow yourself to be addictive to gambling or any other game it becomes difficult to be liberated from it.

It takes self discipline and high level of courage to stop addiction, been addicted to gambling has lead many to their downfall in life, leading most persons to commiting suicide, being depressed and all sorts of negativity, gambling is not entirely bad but it becomes bad when you can't control yourself and how you play it, imagine when you keep engaging in what you don't benefit from it and you still keep playing, you see how tiring it becomes.

Gambling can be addictive, but the addiction doesn't just start one day; it's a gradual thing which grows as the gambler starts and fails to take self-control seriously, or they start gambling with the wrong mindset, which is gambling with the sole purpose of making profit all the time, or they just consider it as the only source of entertainment.

What if I say that both are addicting?
Even you place bets once or twice a year and that contains your life saving, that's still a lot of money.
And if the cumulative amounts of betting every day with small amount equals to the whole amount of gambling once or twice a year.
Then it's all par, right? I think it's even more disappointing when you bet for a few times and then you've lost it all.

it hurts more to lose a bigger amount of money but since he only does it infrequent he might pass it off as a one time mistake and never repeat again but it becomes dangerous once he gambles again trying to win everything he’s lost

When a person gambles regularly for years with small amounts of money, that person will gain experience in gambling and develop a strategy for responsible gambling. This person will never gamble impulsively and irresponsibly because he has gained enough experience in gambling and has learned to survive on the gambling platform. But when a person participates in gambling two to three times a year and uses a large amount of money there, that person can definitely become addicted to gambling quickly because if that person loses in gambling, he will regret it a lot and if he wins, he will be so happy that later he will force him to participate in gambling with more money. So, gambling gradually keeps a person responsible. Here, I consider gambling slowly with a small amount of money every day for years to be low-risk.

You are addicted in gambling already when you start gambling everyday so saying that gambling every day will lead to getting addicted is an under statement, we should gamble and also have some limit, gambling everyday is an addiction.

We should not over do any thing we are doing, gambling is not bad but it's bad when it's getting control over you, it should be done in a responsible way, gamble with money you won't cry of over think about it when it doesn't come to your favour but that of the casino.

Well I mean in the actual definition of addiction I would say that the habitual small amount example fits the description much more, even though the amount in annual or bi annual gamble is probably more than the whole year combined. Interesting question.

The more you gamble the more your addiction level will increase. If you are used to gambling frequently even if it is a small amount you will be mentally stressed and feel the need to win even if it is for entertainment. If you have a tendency to gamble a small number of times a year with bigger amounts that can also be addictive for you. It is not guaranteed that you will win, so losing will make you want to gamble more, which will gradually lead to addiction.

If you maintain discipline in gambling, playing more or less will not lead to addiction for gamblers. If you can control yourself, then playing frequent gambling will not make you addicted.

It all depends on the initial mindset. If the mindset is flawed from the start, addiction is highly likely to occur, whether quickly or slowly, but it's inevitable. As you said, this occurs due to a player's lack or failure to control themselves, and yes, thinking is part of the context of self-control. It's very sad when addiction takes hold in a player, as it can only lead to their destruction. I believe there's a chance for change to improve, but the chances of success are slim.

All forms of gambling can be addictive if we're blinded by winning, so don't think gambling is only about winning.

The question now, is whether they come seeking profit or simply to have fun while unwinding from the boredom of their workplace?. If they're specifically seeking profit, they're usually not in groups, or rather, they come alone or only with those they know best. They don't put much pressure on themselves when they lose. They're also likely in the same profession. However, those who come specifically for fun often come in groups. If they lose, they usually laugh, and if they win, their style of letting go is even stranger.

The amounts they bet vary; small amounts can usually be enjoyed over a longer period, even if the amounts are small. The same goes for profits and losses. If the stakes are large, the losses are significant, even if they only happen twice a year, meaning there's a potential for significant risk concentrated in a single moment.

Gambling every day is a good recipe that will lead to an individual getting addicted easily. Because I can imagine myself gambling every day whether it's with small money or not no body should gamble every day.gambling every day is not an advisable thing for anyone to do because it can lead to an individual battling with gambling related problems.

No doubt about that because he will think about gambling many times and that can make him return to the casino to gamble. He will not think about his losses but will think that he can recover what he has lost today. Gambling every day will need more money because you will deposit more than you can afford to lose but unfortunately, you will not think about that.

You should not engage excessively in gambling if you don't want to get addicted to it. So limitation and self control are the things you should have to control yourself from playing gambling very often. You can gamble but it is better if you gamble occasionally.

Depending on the gambler, most people can be addictive when they pays more attention to the gambling site while most people can be addictive when they often win. On a norm we should know that immediately there is winning it boost our interest to gamble where if such person doesn't control themselves very well they often turn into addiction because they would be wanting to always win whereby they wouldn't mind or even control and regulate their gambling activities and before you knew it they easily becomes addicted to gambling.
In my opinion, addiction isn't based on viewing or paying attention to the gambling site, but rather on curious beginners who want to visit. For experienced gamblers, these gambling sites are a common sight. Almost the majority of gamblers are addicted based on what they have experienced in gambling, That's why addiction is so difficult for gamblers to overcome. And as you said, it's important to maintain overall control over our emotions and our bankroll when playing.
