I think it all depends on the individual involved. Obviously both situations described in the OP could be problematic. I just always advocate for responsible gambling. People should only bet with amounts that they are comfortable losing. Nobody likes losing but if you do it shouldn’t be an amount that causes you or your family financial distress.
Before we discuss this issue further, I think we should first determine what is considered a small amount and what is considered a large amount. If $5 a day is considered a small amount and someone consistently spends it on gambling, then a person would spend $1,825 per year. Someone betting $912.50 every six months would also be considered a small amount and shouldn't be a major issue. The second type of gambler should be the lucky gambler considering that they spend less time gambling than the first type.

But you're right, the emphasis is on the amount you can afford to lose, not the amount spent. If someone gambles responsibly, they'll have limits they'll adhere to, including a percentage of their monthly gambling budget.

Spot on, mate. That’s why discipline is very important, because even winning, which seems good, can also become a problem that might lead to addiction, and eventually, all your winnings could be gone. It’s best to practice responsible gaming right from the start. Once you’re addicted, it becomes hard to resist the temptation, whether you’re winning or losing. It may look easy when you haven’t started playing yet, but when you’re already in that situation, that’s when the real challenge begins.

Yes, you are correct, discipline is the secret to serial addiction. People believe that gambling can only be harmful to one when they lose but the truth is that even when you win, you get even more addicted to gambling. Being overconfident causes one not to know when it is reasonable to take a risk. Added alone, the decisions are made emotionally and not rationally.

This is the reason why responsible gambling would have to be implemented early on, when the practise does not make an absolute need. Wins should not be used to continue playing but it should be an indicator to quit in a prudent manner.

Sometimes, being too focused on gambling can make us forget that this situation can ultimately lead us into a dangerous situation where our self-control and the limits we want to set in gambling are all destroyed.

This situation often occurs, even though some people always claim they gamble responsibly, but this condition can arise without us realizing it.
This makes the issue a bit more complicated because talking about discipline, responsibility in gambling and being mature when gambling can seem easy to say but very difficult to implement, as there are several factors that can undermine these principles.

The gambling space is very broad and can contain good sources. To be on a safer side, self-discipline, knowing ones right and how to apply them with caution. Addiction is never something we should experienced especially the one that involved gambling. Who have seen someone recover in full when it comes to gambling? It happens to be worsen scenario and I keep praying to God to keep me safe, keep me from the reach of my gambling ambition. This is really getting out of balance when we spot teenagers getting themselves in betting, most of them make quite unfavorable seasons.

If you are aware of the negative effects of gambling, you will not become addicted to gambling. If you are not addicted, you are unlikely to engage in negative activities. Gambling should be for entertainment because if you are more inclined towards making money, you will continue to be addicted at any stage of the game. Addicted gamblers are responsible for the increase in crime in society because they keep playing more until they win after losing and once they win, they keep playing more in the hope of winning more. You should have limited your allocation of funds and stopped gambling under any circumstances.
When something is over done it is abuse, when you are addicted you abuse gambling because you gamble even when you are not supposed to gamble, gambling is for adults which means an adult knows what is good and bad, when to gamble and when to stop, also have a budgeted money for gambling maybe in a week when you couldn't win with your allocation money for the week you stop and continue the next week probably that week might be your winning week that is also a way we can gamble responsibly.
Once you are not doing it right and it became what you have to continue to do every time you have to gamble, that is gambling addiction. Addiction can jumble with the mind of adults that they will be behaving like what you would have been expecting of teenagers to have behaved.  What has separated the addicts from the non-gambling addicts is a thine line of self-awareness. Immediately you lose awareness of the fact that you owe yourself a pinch of discipline that must be displayed at all times, the tenets of gambling responsibly cuts down slowly.

What a tricky thing but both can be and I won't just choose which is more and which is not. But let's just agree that if it's done with emotions, then both can make someone very addicted to gambling and to the point that they're not going to stop anymore doing it. Too much obsession of gambling and having no control anymore sets a boundary to themselves and from the reality. We like to gamble but we also need to understand that there is a need to put a limit as when we gamble, even with small amounts, when it's collected it makes the amount larger.

Which can be more addicting between the two: placing small bets every day or gambling only once or twice a year but doing so with huge amounts of money?

If you place bets every day, your brain might get too used to it even if it is just a small amount but betting less frequently but with bigger amounts of money may lead you to be emotionally attached to that money and may feel extremely happy to win and extremely disappointed to lose.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?

Placing smaller bets every day makes one to be more addicted than bigger bets of like once a year because at times you must have even forgotten that you place a bet in the whole year, it is when you win that you might make you recall of placing a bet within the year no matter how much money you must have gamble with.

Placing a smaller bet makes you to be at the casinos everyday and expose you to often gamble without reasoning which can make you easily addicted

Most gamblers think that betting more will result in winning more. So every time they won, they were tempted to bet more and change their betting habit, hoping it would make them rich. When our greed controls our mind, it won't just crash our finances, but it will also lead to possible huge debts. Addiction does not come too fast but gradually. And what triggers this thing is our greed and gambling approaches. Honestly, it is a big struggle for us gamblers to remain responsible. Many still fall into addiction despite the continuous spread of warnings. Especially if our minds focus on winning.

It is Casino that will make someone get addicted easily because they are instant game, when you play a game you will see the result there immediately and if you went to such place with a huge amount of money and you don't have self control and luck is not on your side you will definitely lose everything and whenever you play and loss big amount, stopping at that moment will become a problem because you will be striving to get back and in the process of doing this you are endangering yourself because that is more you will keep on losing until you lose all your money. But in sport betting, it is different because you play and wait for sometime and so the chances of getting addicted is somehow high.

But in sport betting, it is different because you play and wait for sometime and so the chances of getting addicted is somehow high.
Both forms of gambling can be addictive but in different ways small daily bets build slow consistent addiction because they train your brain to expect the same excitement every day it becomes part of a routine and before you even notice it you start thinking about the next bet as naturally as checking your phone it’s not the size of the money that hooks you but the habit of playing regularly the small wins and losses keep you emotionally engaged and create a loop that’s hard to break.

On the other side betting huge amounts once or twice a year brings a different kind of addiction it doesn’t happen often but the emotional weight of those moments is massive the highs are stronger and the losses hit harder it’s like putting all your energy into one event and when you lose it pushes you to chase that feeling again the risk is fewer bets but heavier emotional impact and that can still spiral into obsession. Casinos usually amplify both types because of the instant results and flashing rewards you see whether you win or lose right away and that quick feedback tricks the brain into craving more sports betting moves slower but the waiting builds anticipation which also keeps people hooked so in the end it depends on the person someone with less control can get addicted to either form the daily small bets slowly drain discipline while the rare big ones crash it all at once.

Losses also increase, not just wins, so everything should quickly return to its previous levels after a few losses. Large bets lead to faster loss of the deposit, and this applies to most players. Those who can make money from gambling will gradually increase their bets and determine a comfortable stake for themselves. Large bets come with greater responsibility, and sometimes this can interfere with decision making.

Those who gamble once or twice a year are less likely to become addicted to gambling, those who gamble regularly will become addicted to gambling and gradually their brain will not work normally and then they will feel that the more they gamble, the better they will feel and in doing so, the gambler can become terribly addicted to gambling. However, I think that if you gamble once or twice a year and if you use a lot of money for that gambling, it is risky for your money. But there is no guarantee of gambling, if a gambler gambles with a lot of money and if he loses all his money at the same time, then he will feel a lot of pressure mentally, which can later disrupt his normal life. So my advice would be that gamblers should gamble regularly and use a small amount of money for gambling and gamblers should be careful so that they do not become addicted.

The key to avoiding potential greed is to control your thoughts, emotions & desires. A gambler must be able to exercise self-control so that they can gamble responsibly. Gambling isn't about seeking as many wins as possible to the point of losing all your money. It's impossible to win consecutively, you'll inevitably experience losses, whether big or small. It's best to gamble within reasonable limits, not exceeding your own capabilities.

It is never possible to win consistently in gambling, but many gamblers do not want to accept this fact, they always expect this impossible thing, and with this expectation they continue to gamble, which ultimately leads them to more losses. Therefore, a gambler must have realistic expectations in his thoughts, he should not expect something that is impossible to achieve in reality, just like consistently winning big in gambling, playing within limits, making decisions based on his lossing ability, and keeping emotions away, as a responsible gambler, you must first pay close attention to these things and adhere to them, only then can you avoid big losses in gambling.

One majour causes of gambling is gambling consistently, so the daily gambling with small amount is more likely to lead to addiction. and it can also get worst to the extent of using bigger amount of money, A man's mind can get very emotional after a long time of consistent gambling everyday with little amounts of money there will certainly come a time where you will be intrested in using larger amount of money this is because there is everything things  grows and your mindset too will want to make a shift after a long time of consistently using small amount of money to gamble. And it is not likely to end up well.

You seem to have already answered your question OP. Chances of getting addicted are way higher when you’re constantly gambling, cos it’s believed that constant involvement in gambling has its way of increasing one’s urge to gamble or want to gamble, and when these urges starts to become uncontrollable or more frequent than usual, then that’s where the problem comes in and if nothing is done to regulate that urge, it turns to addiction. But when you’re only gambling once or twice in a year, gambling becomes more like an annual activity, and chances of getting addicted is almost zero regardless of how huge your stakes are.

People need to control themselves in a variety of life and gambling is one of them. Once we lose it we are prone to some bad habits. We can be aware of what is good and bad, however, we can be influenced by the temporary cravings.
Exactly, the things with the possible temptations are what make us sin and if we don't control ourselves , they can make us addicted Sometimes we have to have a Unique and strict discipline so that things go well for us , that's what it's about, that's why the activity of gambling is so delicate It is even mentioned that minors cannot play because it is an activity only for adults.

Those who gamble only a few times a year are not very interested in gambling, which is why they do not gamble frequently. They only enjoy gambling occasionally in their free time. But those who gamble regularly, no matter how small the amount they gamble, gambling becomes a daily task for them and they think of gambling as their daily work. Which becomes their profession. This is a very serious matter and if they continue to gamble regularly, they will not be able to give up gambling easily which will make them deeply addicted. So I think those who gamble regularly are a type of gambling addict because no one except the addicted gambler is encouraged to gamble regularly. Because everyone is responsible for their financial affairs but regular gamblers are not responsible for their financial affairs.
