Perhaps many will be able to understand from this that cryptocurrency and Bitcoin are currently gaining acceptance among more tech-savvy people in Nigeria. This is truly a huge milestone as we see that our country is number 6 in terms of crypto adoption, As a result, it is natural that the demand for Bitcoin is currently increasing in this country because the number of crypto users has now increased significantly. To my knowledge due to rising inflation and limited access to foreign exchange, Crypto these days has become a practical solution for millions of Nigerians like us. It may be very exciting for us that by 2025, an estimated 22 million Nigerians will be using cryptocurrency.

Around 22 million Nigerians, equivalent to 10.3% of the population held cryptocurrencies. This compares to just 0.4% a decade earlier. Twenty-two million users reflect a major leap in adoption.

I have once created a thread regarding this back in 2023 or 2024 then Nigeria was around 4th or 5th position, I feel like we are even going down the ladder than climb unlike before and one thing that we must know is that the Nigeria people themselves are great people but all odds are against our economy to become great as its people struggle to represent the country in the world. If we look at how many Nigerians that are in the technical world of the west and how successful they have become including in the bitcoin world we will figure out that it’s the government and the country image that is ruined and not the people themselves as we try as much a possible to reach the highest of all things and never stay out of sight !

This is really an interesting news, and a welcomed development in Nigeria, because embracing bitcoin investment will do us a lot of favour considering the nature of our economy and the value of our currency in Nigeria.

This is a good thing that is happening in our country. With this type of analysis, the government no need to think am two times to openly legalize Bitcoin for Nigeria. Annd in addition to the list you made mention above, about the Crypto glance in Nigeria, I think you actually skipped some important parts, which actually has to do with the year crypto was banned in Nigeria by CBN, instructing banks to block all accounts traced to be related with crypto. Which was actually a big scary moment among members of the Nigerian crypto community, and also when the ban was uplifted. Because in 2021, after the Federal Government got to know how Nigerians were able to transact over 1.5 billion dollars in crypto during the entire year 2020, they got interested and wanted to imposed a tax, and since crypto exchange weren't satisfied with our Government's tax rate, they declined, which led to the Federal Government imposing a ban back then in February 2021. And was later fully uplifted last year 2024.

It is true that Nigeria is now in sixth place in cryptocurrency adoption but I can say that Pakistan and the USA have achieved massive milestones according to this Chain Analysis index. However at this stage our country has advanced in terms of Bitcoin usage because they are currently in second place there. The Chain Analysis index shows that the number of crypto users in Nigeria has not increased, but it currently shows that Bitcoin usage has increased here. To be honest our country is suffering from high inflation, which is why many are now giving Bitcoin the upper hand as a store of value.

Nigeria is second in the world in adoption index. The nation’s economy suffers high inflation, pushing people to Bitcoin as a shield against value loss. Also, most of the population has no access to banks, so e-wallets and crypto become popular choices.

There was a time Nigeria was ranked 4th I think so, this means that Nigeria is going down and the reason for this could be because of some government policies however the new tax rate Nigeria government is introducing I'm sure it will affect our exchange in cryptocurrency too and when that happens it may affect us more but I'm very sure that Nigerians will actually have a way out of it and if it happens like that more Nigerians will be using crypto as to avoid taxing, the tax rate in Nigeria is becoming too much and the citizens are not even working because of lack of job so I'm very sure that citizens will always want to avoid paying tax and that may lead them to joining and transacting with cryptocurrency.

To be honest Nigeria ranks 6th in global cryptocurrency adoption, which may be good for us but the country was previously ranked even higher as a result many may be surprised to see this chain analysis Index because Nigeria is currently lagging behind. You are correct that even though El Salvador was the first country to accept Bitcoin as legal tender, they are currently behind Nigeria in terms of Bitcoin adoption, maybe this is another success for us because the level of Bitcoin adoption is being widely publicized despite the fact that strategic reserves are not recognized in this country.

If someone had told me this without evidence, ai wouldn't have believed but since there is evidence from a credible source, it's possible to be correct.
