Especially why would Bitcoin Core cater to these fellas?! Even if they "can" do something, they are going to need customers and thus far... ziltch. I've not heard a single peep from normal Testnet users even remotely interested in Citrea, just mostly devs talking to other devs that invest in Citrea seem to be most interested ironically. (I hear about most everything considering the dominant position I've built for myself in Testnet with the purpose of watching what is to come + doing my own "tests".)
Blocks are clearing just fine in Testnet4 even with most blocks being speed mined @ difficulty 1 with no transactions included. So what spam are we combating? Testnet should be REKT if spam is problematic with users. It's totally fine and handling the load impressively well considering the situation.
They cried about Testnet3, so one of their investors purposely dried out the block rewards to prevent devs from being able to mine, and this pushed the launch of Testnet4 for them to use. Literally everything they have done or tried to muscle has turned out with terrible, unexpected consequences (for them thus far, thank god.). I firmly think there may be some SERIOUS unintended consequences following their half-baked bullshit.
Now they can't mine a block on Testnet4 and are crying for another reset! LOL!
If these fellas can't figure out how to make their product usable in fucking Testnet... maybe their product is trash and Core shouldn't be altering Bitcoin so quickly.
Neither Testnet3 nor Testnet4 are broken. These folks just aren't used to getting their ass kicked in this realm.
"If you can't beat them, reset!" That should be the real moto of Testnet resets, not trading.
I saw this today and thought it was pretty reasonable.
I've had the pleasure of sitting courtside, listening to smart fellas thought experiments and then testing them in reality. Being smart does not make your thought experiment accurate; in fact, it seems to be the opposite... the smarter a person is in a thought experiment involving other people, the less likely they are to be accurate when it takes place in reality.
Fuck a whitepaper. Let's see them do it at scale at value for a period of time. IMO.
