So it’s official now. Our very own John Riel “Quadro Alas” Casimero will be back in action this October 25 under Saikou × Lush / Kameda Promotions. He’ll be facing Kyonosuke Kameda of Japan in a 58kg contract weight, 10-round bout.

This fight is basically at featherweight range (58kg contract weight). With this setup, Casimero won’t have the chance to come in overweight like before, which even got him suspended for a year. This weight looks like a safe middle ground, still close to his natural division, but strict enough that he really needs to stay disciplined on the scale.

Forget the talk about Inoue for now—Quadro Alas needs to channel all his energy into this bout and deliver a convincing performance. It’s his chance now, hopefully during that one-year ban he was still able to keep himself in shape. No more excuses, this is the weight class where I believe he’s most comfortable since his body has already grown into it.

Interesting the boxing battle between the Philippines and Japan the battle will take place 10 rounds, not a bad thing for John Riel Casimero and Kyonosuke Kameda, if we talk to boxing for both.

For me and my judgment clearly Casimero has a wealth of experience on the ring, he has proven the record 33 times in the boxing arena, while Kameda can be said to be relatively new, especially in the world of boxing, Now if seen from the experience that is clearly Casimero excels from Kameda, that is if seen from the magnifying glasses.

Based on stats Casimero will dominate this fight since he is against a low career fight boxer with already 5 losses. Casimero can spot already this guy weakness by reviewing his 5 losses.

However, Casimero already not on prime compared before and he even performed bad on his recent matches so I don’t want to be overconfident on betting with him.

I will just watch this match but don’t bet at all.

It's hard to consider this as an easy fight because Casimero has been on a very long layoff, and I have seen him lack discipline while he is out of the ring.

This may not be the same Casimero we’ve seen in the past; he has been very inactive, and he is not in tip-top shape when he is not fighting. I think he's motivated by money and doesn't really want to return to earn title shots.

I feel sorry for Casimero for not having the opportunity to fight Inoue. He was a serious contender back then, but Inoue chose to ignore him, even though this decision led to backlash. I’m interested in whether Casimero still has it, so I’ll mark my calendar for this fight.

Regarding the suspension, if I remember correctly, the suspension only applies in Japan, meaning he was only banned in Japan, but he can still fight in other countries during the time of the ban.

It could be an easy fight, but I'm probably being biased since I don't know who his opponent is and how good he is. While I haven't followed what's going on with Casimero, I know he is a good fighter.

It's sad that he doesn't have great discipline, his career would have continued climbing if he hadn't made some stupid decisions.

Yes, a reset is needed, but not sure if he has enough time for that. He is not getting any younger and it seems that he could have reach his prime years already. Now he is fighting just scrap boxers and it looks like he is just going into the motion of earning money for him and his family to sustain after his boxing career. In any case it is good that he has a fight, but it doesn't mean that go and fight for the belt again. His opponent has 5 losses already, even if he wins, it's not enough for other champion to raise a eye brow and says that he is a good fight or good as a mandatory.

This is also my thought as well, it's like they are just pitting him to nobody right now. When he moves up to 122 lbs, we thought that he will also dominated that weight class. But problems getting into the weight was his main issue here. If I'm not mistaken, he doesn't have any proper team like a nutritionist that will handle how much he is putting into his body to make weight.

And after that, it's all downhill for him fighting no name boxer and it didn't bring any from his boxing career. He will definitely win this fight, maybe in a knockout as he doesn't have the problem getting into the weight and be a full blow featherweight. But the quality of his opponents should be good as well and not fighting who has a lot of losses.

Kameda is a journeyman willing to face anybody. This will be the third highly ranked fighter he faces in 2025 after losing to Luis Nery and Alan Picasso. He is an aggressive fighter who gets hit a lot, so the style is tailor made for Casimero to look good against. It won’t bring Casimero any closer to fighting Inoue, but at the very least it will serves as a measuring stick to see where he is at compared to other top fighters.

There’s a big chance for him to get a belt in this division since Inoue hasn’t moved up yet. The champions here aren’t as dominant compared to super bantamweight.

I see Casemiro recently signed with Kameda Promotions. He’s a hard-hitting, multi-division former world champion, but if i recall correctly he was suspended for a year for cutting weight also he has various stomach issues, so making 58kg &  discipline are the real points here.

i think  if he’s on the weight & sharp, he should be the favorite. if he shows any weight or stomach issues or ring rust, it could be messy.

I doubt that he can get a chance to even fight for a belt in the featherweight division. You will really need to be great at this division. All the current and interim champion here are big names, like Rafael Espinoza, Stephen Fulton and Rey Vargas.

Although Casimero's opponent is rank, but he is way below in the top 5. And Casimero is not even rank in this division as this is his first entry. So he will have to beat a lot of good boxers to even be in the top 1 of any governing bodies. But time is running out for Casimero. He is already 36 years old and most likely could have only 2 years in his career.
