For Naija, everybody dey talk say land na real wealth and e no dey lose value, and once you own am, na asset wey fit pass from generation to generation. But now we get Bitcoin, one digital money wey don surprise the world with crazy growth and international respect. So for a normal Nigerian wey dey find how to secure tomorrow, the question be:
>To buy land (plots/real estate) or to buy Bitcoin?

>Which one go hold better value in the next 10–20 years?

Land dey solid but government wahala and paperwork fit stress person. Bitcoin dey borderless but the price dey shake up and down. Which one really guarantee wealth for Nigerians?

Op good question but the truth is this  You can use one to get the other Bitcoin is a long term investment. Land can also do the same in the sense that it appreciates given a specific period of time The amount you bought it will raise That means you can not sell it at the same price you bought it And given that there are still undeer the value of our currency naria it is easy to say your cash are still not saved. That is when bitcoin comes in That money you got from land investment you can easily invest it in bitcoin for the long term goal.

Furthermore to simple answer your question it is still better to invest in bitcoin.

Well, I will try to answer your questions from my side. If I had thought about the questions you asked, I'm sharing what I would have done myself.

Here I can see that you have talked about two topics. The first one is about buying land/plot and the second one is whether bitcoin is right in this modern era. Your two words are logical but I want to say one important thing here you can go in both directions if you want. But you have to decide what you really want to do. If you want to buy land (plot) and do something like house/rent/business there then it is better to buy land considering real assets. Again if you understand Bitcoin well and have a rough idea about its future then if you want to earn good profits without limits then it is better to invest in bitcoin.

Now if you want you can ask another question here can both be done together then my answer here is that if you can maintain it and you can invest in bitcoin by maintaining DCA on a limited scale along with buying land/plot.

If we talk about 10-20 years... I will say that if you can buy a land/plot like a position then of course you will keep getting good profits on the other hand, bitcoin has a little more potential because the price and volatility in the bitcoin market are high and patience and risk tolerance are very important if you invest in bitcoin. In fact, for Nigerians in our country, everyone is more inclined towards buying land because not many people know about bitcoin the youth know and understand bitcoin the most. There is no guarantee for this after all, I think if after buying land, you can maintain DCA on a small scale and invest in bitcoin for a long time, it will be the best thing to do at the time.

Let's say you have \$5M in hand right now (my personal plan) 50% in good location/rented real estate and 30% in bitcoin (maintained by DCA) and 20% in cash/low-risk assets for emergencies, I think it would be better. Both the security of land and the potential of bitcoin are needed. Now you yourself think about which one is better to do and I personally support such a thing.

I just know say both investment are good investment but one surely go pass the other.

No 5 million naira used in buying bitcoin now is calculated with an expected price if bitcoin for the next two cycles you will be amazed that the land you bought at 5 million naira will not be worth that amount in 8 or 9 years from now which is a complete to cycle.

Now if bitcoin gives you such a very huge amount in 8 or 9 years you fit still buy as much land as you want.

At the end buying bitcoin go always be number 1 for people wey Sabi how bitcoin dey work.

They say in anything you do just try get bitcoin.

Bro no be to just go get land anywhere oh, the land in your village is still land, but to what value is it, the location of the said land is very important, if it is a choiced area, then no problem because it will definitely grow in value.

Bitcoin ownership too is nice investment, Bitcoin is an asset that grows in value, unlike land, you don't have to go through some agents and local government approvals to own it, you can get it just by staying in the comfort of your room using your phone, laptop or any good internet device. Because of how easy you can be adding to your Bitcoin small small with money you can afford, I suggest you go for Bitcoin.

This question go be like trap if u ask person with good knowledge about bitcoin and real estate assets to choose only 1 option but for me, I go let u know first say 1 source of income no dey reliable for person way want grow wealth or self say u want secure unfailingly income flows onto say the 2 assets dey get time way their values dey increase and na usually in the long term unlike the stocks or retailer.
So if u ask me, Investing for both dey okay bcos in the long run, dem go dey accountable for u say u dey hold values for resources way dey increase in values as tins of the economy dey change too.
So u can split the #5 million, find good strategies on where to buy land with the affordable amount and be strategic on accumulating ur bitcoin.

Na really hard question! Land in 9la na classic, important belonging wey the value dey go up over time. But any how person look this matter, Bitcoin remains new king of value with worldwide access and usage. For ₦5m, i go say make person no put all em eggs for one basket. Not to forget, both land and Bitcoin dey appreciate overtime, so to diversify makes sense based on personal decision whether 50% 50% or 60% (land) 40%BTC, 70%30% or vice-versa . The target is to protected for today, and exposed for tomorrow..

It is only when you used the land to build Real Estate then you can generate income annually. If you keep the land, yes next generation will come and inherent it but you will become poor. I don't know if you understand my point. 
And if you are investing for the next ten years then it's s good to invest in the bitcoin and don't buy them at once but use DCA approach so that you can be making profit at any point in time.

Exactly, Bitcoin is a very variable strategy that support the potential growth for long,-term investment.
With Bitcoin one can do or achieve so many things through it and even buy land and build on it. Though it's essential for one to consider the risks and the benefits of having Bitcoin as a tangible assets, because Bitcoin markets do fluctuates sometimes which one should have the knowledge of that too.

In my very own opinion,
If the #5m na my own and I really need the two means of securing the funds and some upside, then I go do some division, like this split the funds to small half, like 60% I go am check out for better land especially for area wey go develop quick with the time given and then I carry the remaining 40% put for Bitcoin but no be at once na small small. Like this I fit relax sey I get asset wey dey tangible with meaningful exposure to an international hedge against the risk of naira, than where I carry all the eggs go put for just one basket if e fall all of them don break.

You arguments no too pure. Some people buy land 10 to 15 yeas ago for N500k. But today the land na N15 to N20 million. Now if say the person use N10m buy 20 plots na close to N150m to N200m. So wetin come bring poverty come this matter?

If you get money buy land for developing areas. Even if you no get money to build house just fence and keep.  After some years, you go cash out big. But check the area well oh because no bi all places dey develop rapidly.

If i get 5m i go invest am for bitcoin because stress no dey am, just buy and hold it in your wallet for that 10 to 20 years you go see your gain. Land na valuable asset but before you go acquire the necessary documents to take secure that land e go take pass that 5m because you go need documents like Certificate of occupancy (C of O), deed of conveyance and other land documents to take protect your land and sometimes if na land wey dey for better location (hot cake) e go require you to fence am, so all these things requires money. And even if you get the necessary documents, government fit decide to still do anything on that land like if them wan construct road, them fit just give you small compensation unto say you get the legal documents but e fit no reach the money wey you even take buy am and as na government nothing you go fit do so your land don go be that.

I no fit omit any of them because the two dey valuable so long as I have enough money I think I will go for the both, but if I don't have enough to invest in the both then I will go for Land after that I'm going to build houses in that land and keep it for rent since the profit is something we are sure of. I have to go into land first then I will use the profit I'm going to make from the land to diversify into bitcoin investment, because bitcoin is a volatile asset no one knows what will happen in the future . Moreover there's no guarantee about the outcome yet, All we do is to buy and HODL and keep praying for a good return.

Diversification in any business yu intend to go into is very important. You don't just put your head, leg and the entire body in one basket and expect not to be hurt from any single failure caused by such investments. The wisest of all investors and business men are people who take the initiative of investing in more than one platforms, like two, three or four different investments if it warrants. But as the economy of my country Nigeria works now, I will advise anyone interested in going into any form of investment or business to always explore more than a single option. Let the minimum be two and upwards because a single investment can be dangerous when it fails. Bitcoin is not an all perfect investment and your investments there sometimes could face sufferings which will warrant you to look other way round. If such things happen, you should be able to approach any alternative to survive the downside of such period instead of getting liquidated and ending up packing the rest of your investments in bitcoin because you feel you've lost it all.

You are not actually comparing the land alone here but rather you’re actually adding other things, I think the OP question is a when you have a straight up money only enough to actually buy land, which is more profitable to buy between it and buying of bitcoin. For me I will say having lands gives you lots of advantages like you have listed aside the profit but I will actually compare the two without this added advantages.

For me bitcoin stands out in terms of profit per time because it can growing price way more than how lands can appreciate in value, take for example some who invested into bitcoin in 2023 and who bought land during the period I think the profit difference is clear, that’s how the risk is also clear too. For me land is more stable for someone who doesn’t have the balls for a volatile asset but the big problem is having all the land disputes which usually causes one to lose their property most especially if the government is involved, then the issue of looking for buyers when I wish to is also those hassles that I think buy bitcoin will make one to be safe

Last month, one of my close friends who’s a surveyor and realtor was bragging about how his client sold 10 plots of land he bought for ₦500k each about 10 years ago at ₦10m per plot today. Big profit, no doubt. But I had to run the math with him, if that same ₦5m was put into Bitcoin around 2013/2014, today the man would be sitting on billions, not millions. His jaw dropped when he saw the numbers.
 
The truth is, that his client chose land then because he probably knew nothing about Bitcoin at that time. But me, I know Bitcoin, I understand the technology and the future it represents. So, honestly, it would feel unreasonable for me to put ₦5m into land for long-term when I can stack BTC with that same money and potentially outpace land value by far in the next decade.

Na better debate be this oh, but make we reason am small, to purchase land, person need to use common sense, 1. No buy land for place when near govments things like, land when dem bury crude oil pipe put, or land when dey close to High tension(Na risk sef), land when dem mark for development like building of road or land when dem give Soldiers to build Barack put. Dem many oh but wise buyer go find out these things before them go commot money buy, whereas bitcoin na wan digital coin wen dey on it own, dey go up and down. But wetin I go really advise for here be say, if you no get better money like the rich investors, go for the land first. If you dey fear say govment go come for you tomorrow even after observing the condition above, them fit compensate you, but if dem not(rare). Life it self dey uncertain sometimes so, push for the one when your money reach. And I recommend the land also no forget say both go take your years to hold so your money go fit appreciate. So if you just dey start life, you no get enough. My brother buy land first.
