[POLL] Was gambling a reason for you to discover Bitcoin / cryptocurrencies?

Back in 2014, it's my first time knowing about gambling site ^(Luckybit). I actively gambled and chatted there almost everyday, and someone told me BTT⁽²⁰¹⁵⁾, then i know this forum and Bitcoin. So, gambling was helpin me in discover Bitcoin.
It's my short story about how i found Bitcoin.

I have been gambling with our local fiat even before I got to know about Bitcoin and then this forum, even after I fully started investing and earning Bitcoin and other coins, I was still and still preferred gambling with fiat, I can't remember the number of times I even used Bitcoin in gambling, maybe once or twice. So, gambling has not been the reason why I discovered Bitcoin.

I only recently got acquainted with gambling sites and entered them because previously I was just a regular forum member working on many bounty and airdrop projects
and also followed signatures in addition to Signature gambling when the Mixer platform was banned.

After the Mixer Platform was completely banned, I started getting into gambling and on various platforms because I had to try out the platforms I was promoting.

So is that I got to know Bitcoin not from gambling but from this forum and it started to evolve over time until now.

Same here. My interest on gambling was intensified when I started involving on casino signature campaigns that requires post here on gambling board.

Frequent discussion about gambling and exploring the casino ANN thread including the game and rounds board gives me a boost to play more before because I’m chasing bonuses that is profitable to me.

I’m only a casual gambler before but right now it’s my regular thing when I have free time.

It's a routine activity, but I hope it's just a hobby and filling your free time, rather than you gambling with more money to hit the jackpot, it will destroy your mentality.
Just play as necessary and do not use more money, because losing due to gambling is painful and will disturb your psychology.

Some people I know endure with a bad mentality because of gambling because they don't have good management and healthy gambling habits,
and others gamble with full responsibility and have their bosses and allocations adjusted so that there is no addiction or losing a lot of money.

The question is: Did gambling play a major role when you started to use Bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrencies? Or was it at least one factor among others?

There are many possible reasons, for example privacy. Of course you can explain yours in this thread.

Hi d5000, in my case as you know maybe better than me(i disclose this in the second paragraph) YES it was a major role when i started, in fact my first ever knowdledge in BTC come from it.

Like you know here in Argentina we have several problems with the "CEPO" and others things, so it was imposible to fund an account in any of the big and ""trusted"" betting house, so for that i start to looking into a way to do so.

First it was trying to have a NETELLER PAYPALL PAYONEER or whatever brand of this "new" systems which can give you a virtual credit card. After a time in some of them started to appear the BTC option to replenish, and my main problem was not longer only the fund of the account, it was the withdraw of the winnings. It was nearby to impossible. We have some exchange webs or somthing like that, but that push me more and more to look into the crypto world, and well the rest is history.

I ended up fully use the BTC for both purposes.

Nope, not for me. I didn't discover BTC through gambling, even when i found out about BTC, i was still gambling in fiat for a long time, until i made the switch to start gambling with BTC, since it makes it easier for me and i can gamble in any casino around the world and not just the ones licensed in my country.

I may not have discovered BTC through gambling, but it has made gambling a smoother experience for me, and since i started gambling in crypto, i have not gambled in fiat since then.

I am pretty sure that during the first years of cryptocurrencies, it was used in gambling casinos that were not even that big yet. They probably were not registered that is why it was safer to use cryptocurrencies at that time. And to be fair until now. But nowadays, even in registered casinos nowadays there are cryptocurrencies being welcomed in those platforms.

It's also said that gambling was among the firms that made Bitcoin as popular as it is today. In the early stages, most of the Bitcoin transactions were carried out either by those using it to gamble or by gambling sites paying winners with Bitcoin. To date, it's still in use even as regulations have come to take away privacy from every gambler.

But for me, it was one among other reasons on why I have discovered Bitcoin and that's because there were a lot of ads of it. So, it's not a direct gambling reason but it has got me to see that it's one of the uses that I have seen and so, it had broadened the idea to my mind that it can be used like that and many old casinos have been established before due to that.

No gambling wasn't the reason i discovered Bitcoin or has it been the major role on why I started using bitcon. Before I started my gambling journey I've known about Bitcoin and I've made a push in trying to invest in it, long before my gambling process so the fact that most casinos use it gave me the comfortability in making use of it but gambling was never the factor on why I chose to use Bitcoin.

If casinos including bitcoin in their advertisements was how you discovered about bitcoin, then it simply means that you discovered bitcoin through gambling, there is no need trying to bend this fact, after all, how ever way one came to the knowledge of bitcoin doesn't matter at all, what matters well is what we are individually doing with our knowledge about bitcoin and how it's benefiting us and our families, and everyone around us.

There are people who discovered or came to the knowledge of bitcoin in such a way many of us would say or consider as odd, yet today, they have made millions in dollars investing in the same bitcoin, this is a prove that though they came to the knowledge of bitcoin in an odd way, but they have utilized that knowledge well and have used it to transform their life in the most positive way, this is all that matters.

I can't vividly remember everything but it has got to be one of the ways on how I've known bitcoin and gambling itself. Although I've got some gambling background already and it's connecting to me that bitcoin and gambling really shaped me up into getting to know more the both sides of these two. I agree that the discovery isn't too important at all but it's part of how we've grown here and how it is benefiting us today. How I wish that I was one of those people who have made millions in dollars or maybe someday, it will come and bitcoin's peak will a million dollar or two and holding 1 btc should be sufficient to make us into that status.
