What benefits are you looking to list for us when their are people that are having their mental health crushed because they invested in bad coins that lead to their hard earned money disappearing forever due to scam project teams creating rug pulled projects in the name of memecoins, shitcoins and others with useful utilities.

It's not that all altcoins projects are bad but the problem lies in majority that had scammed people without a trace. People should have the mindset of investing in Bitcoin if they want to stay far away from heartbreaks from holding altcoins that can crashed at any point in time. This is advise that could benefit everyone that want financial freedom without gambling.

The price of Bitcoin can also crash anytime, anywhere, I mean it doesn't choose a specific time. Nobody really knows when its price will crash or rise in the market. Right?

Altcoins and Bitcoin both give anyone a chance to earn a profit in the future, provided we choose the right altcoins to buy,
whether we hold them short-term or long-term. That's just how it is.

But one thing is that regardless of which investment, even Bitcoin, which we are saying is the father of all the cryptocurrencies, there is still risk attached to it, and it is advisable to invest only what one can afford to lose. So all the cryptocurrencies have risk, and they always advise investing only what we can afford to lose.

Although altcoins are high risk, investing in altcoins is very risky because they can disappear at any time; that is why they have a higher risk than Bitcoin. It is advisable as a newbie to have deep knowledge about altcoins before investing because it requiresa lot.

True. It's undeniable that investing in altcoins can sometimes be profitable. However you should still prioritize Bitcoin as your primary investment because, as you said, many altcoins eventually die. Therefore, before investing in altcoins, you should thoroughly research them yourself.

I do not think bitcoin should be the only one, because it needs buy-offers in place, a strong buy-side order-book, and those have to be built out of something.

To look good to fiat-users you need buy-with-fiat offers of course, but long term and realistically fiat is a really crappy "asset" to build with.

There is a need for things that at least store value, heck even just losing value but losing it slower than fiat does would be better than fiat.

The buy-side order-books are a store of value, a big part of how value is stored.

So having to build them "upon sand" so to speak is pathetic.

We need more things other than bitcoin if only so we can build buy-sides for bitcoin that aren't falling apart moment by moment from being built of inferior materials as it were.

Yeah I agree, but on days like these people end up thinking it is not going to be great, unfortunately they are right that on the short term it looks not great, but with time it's going to be doing great. We need to look at it from a longer perspective to see the same thing that you see, and a lot of people don't do that. They look at the previous week and act as if it's the worst thing that could happen.

But the reality is that we are not going to see this be a big trouble, things needs to change and we need to make sure that it is not going to be bothering us. For this reason we are going to just focus on how to get better approach with time. Focus on how to get better returns, and can be a lot better with time when you are not careful about it, that's important.

There are many benefits to investing in Altcoins but the risks are high. It is not as easy as you think. Altcoins are constantly coming into the market with new concepts that get a good hype in the market for just a few days if they are listed on a good exchange. I have invested in Alt many times with the expectation that I can get a lot of profit by investing in Alt but even if I get some profit only a few times, most of the time I have to wait a long time to buy and sell and then wait a long time to sell at a loss. So I do not find any high benefit of Alt

i feel  like altcoins are kinda like a double edge sword!! they bring new ideas and can sure give bigger profits than bitcoin itself if you choose the right one at the right time!! but they are also very risky because many lose value fast after the hype is gone. that is why diversification is kinda helpful but you must be careful at the same time because most altcoins work better for short or even mid term trading but bitcoin is usually safer for long term holding.

That used to be a common tactic, and imho altcoins only purpose, as i can remember a time, when there were lots of cex:es without fiat pairs, and that main pair of all altcoins was BTC for a long time. USDT changed a lot of the attitude.

Imho it's good to stay in touch of different altcoin economies, because otherwise they are easier to miss. Also, small moonbags have served me well.

There might be good altcoins but the bad ones had changed my mindset about altcoins and I don't think I am ready to take that risk that will make me to put my money on any of those projects. I agree that 80% is appropriate for BTC, although we are currently in a range and consolidation phase before the market decides whether to rise or fall. When Bitcoin rises, selling pressure will return, and this was evident today, pushing the price down again.

The 20% range you mentioned above is very relevant if invest good altcoins . The growth of the BSC ecosystem since 2019 has attracted new coins, but I see many projects being built on the BSC platform every day, many of which are scams. Currently, BSC projects are trending while projects on the ETH platform are booming. Due to low transaction gas fees, many projects are migrating to the BSC platform.

So, it's perfectly reasonable, as you suggested, to adjust the portion, even though altcoins always seem to provide quick returns and increase our investment estimates.

I feel your pain though about your experience with a shitcoins, honestly Bitcoin is is not comparable with any other coins and it is less risky when compared to them but the thing is that why you may not put value in altcoins there are also those that will because they have seen others that have profited from it, but the bitter part is that what works for me might not works for you, if anyone is interested in altcoins then they not do more than 10 % of what they should have in Bitcoin and without cheating, altcoins will exist and Bitcoin will also exist making the crypto environment more interesting.

Just because you have seen others profited from altcoins doesn't mean that you are going to make money from altcoins neither. You may or may not and that is not going to end up with anything that could be all that improvement at all. We should be considering how this could be impacting us but we can definitely get a greater return on this. We shouldn't really be considering these as something that can benefit from it.

There isn't really anything that can be done about it, so we could definitely consider this as a good way to just lose money if you are not careful. We could definitely get what we want out of this if we are careful about it, it is not going to work that badly for us if we are careful and not consider this as something that is bad at all.

Diversification in altcoins can be very challenging because of the wrong choice of token to invest into. Generally, altcoins are termed as risky investment, so diversifying your investment into more risky investable assets (altcoins) increases the overall risk and you’ll risk losing your money in not careful. The impression that you can invest in one altcoin token and when it doesn’t go well, you get to collect profit from another to cover up for it are all fairy tales and the tendency of it happens is very minimal. Getting to know about an altcoin before investing into it is very important, this will reduce the risk of likelihood of losing it all when it gets bad.

Diversification in altcoins doesn't work most times and that is because of the availability of fake coins that are just promising outside but have zero user case or long term value sustainability, this have been the major challenges with altcoins investment that  made it not to be suitable means of diversification, but rather a speculative assets that we can just gamble on and move on, don't give altcoins long term approach it doesn't workout most times.

Another assumption, besides the best primary choice, BTC, and of course, even if the selection of altcoins is small, is that at least one altcoin is always present in someone's investment wallet. Interestingly, amidst market conditions that haven't shown any signs of a reversal, many are usually eyeing altcoins, but this is only temporary, not permanent.

In other conditions, some people prefer to save their money rather than use it to buy cryptocurrencies or other portfolios, which are currently in an uncertain state. Much human and economic activity is currently locked down in many countries, and this will undoubtedly impact their income. Only the wealthy or those with substantial savings in their bank accounts dare to take advantage of this opportunity to buy reputable altcoins—meaning, they can accumulate a lot. We can do that too, but only a few.

Totally agree with you, Mark. There definitely needs to be more than just Bitcoin. You’ve been around since the real early days, seen it all — back when CPU mining still made sense and people actually talked about decentralization instead of ETFs.

I also don’t think true P2P use will happen with Bitcoin in its current form. For smaller users like me the whole “store of value” concept doesn’t really add much day-to-day benefit.

I’ve been sitting on a few old legacy coins for over a decade now (not many), always thinking there might be a kind of “rebirth” at some point — either from collectors who appreciate the early history or because some of those projects actually had stronger fundamentals in certain areas (even if not hashrate, of course).

Merge-mined ones like IXC, I0C, DEV, FRC — what’s your take on them these days? From your long experience, do you see any realistic future for these old-school coins, or are they just part of crypto archaeology now?

With bitcoin, there is no question.

But to say about altcoins and you're generalizing all of them. Not all of them are good to invest with your money. As you can see, if you just hover and take time to view threads here on altcoins discussions section, you'd see how many people have regret they have invested to random altcoins.

Not because others have profited from the altcoins they have bought, it's not that everyone is going to earn as well from the altcoins that they have mentioned.

Altcoin investment is like gambling, if you don't have much knowledge about it and you feel you are diversifying your investment with altcoins, you could lose a lot of your money. You have to risk the amount that you can afford to lose because the situation is 50/50, it's not like Bitcoin where you have the hope that during every bull season  you are likely to make profits. Altcoins could pump just once and never pump again. Even if you wait for many bull season, it won't get to the price you bought.

Not familiar with FRC but IXC, I0C and DVC (IXCoin, I0Coin and DeVCoin) are all "reserve assets" in the Galactic Milieu meaning not only do they each have a "treasury" from which the Milieu can calculate a value per coin by dividing the total value of the "treasury" by the number of coins minted but also other "treasuries" can include them, and quite few have.

Periodically the calculation of relative values based on the "treasuries" is done and the result, the "Latest Rates include-file" is uploaded to https://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/latestrates.inc

Those show results going back to 2012, there have been some glitch times but overall everything has done not too badly.

A big problem though early on was the constant flying by night of "exchanges", it didn't take long to realise one cannot count bitcoin that one has out on exchanges as buy-offers for the other things as being part of any "treasury" since bitcoin - or anything else - in the custody of some third-party exchange too often just vanishes.

So for the last few years and probably also for the next few years going forward re-building strong buy-side order-books for everything is one of the main challenges; now that we are using the HORIZON and Stellar platforms we can build buy-sides out of HZ (on HORIZON) and XLM (on Stellar) without worry that the platform aka exchange is going to fly by night taking our HZ and XLM with it, so hopefully our days of constantly being undermined by fly-by-night exchanges are behind us.

As can be seen from the tables and plots the calculated values pretty much always rise relative to fiat, but of course some of that is due to fiat constantly losing value.

You can estimate how much of it is simply the forever-falling of fiat by looking at the table showing DEUterium prices, since DEUterium very successfully mimics fiat's loss of value over time, so that if you pick some random fiat that is not notably worse or better than "typical" fiats you should see that DEUterium's value in terms of any such fiat has stayed pretty "stable" all these years.

Again though, whether that means all the assets seen to be growing in value compared to DEUterium aka compared to fiat are really going up rather than merely remaining stable while fiat falls is open to question and probably varies from asset to asset.

So hey, take a good look at the numbers and analyse them and let us know your opinion...
